There are no verified GTA 6 PC graphics settings to recommend yet. As of October 13, 2026, Rockstar’s official information lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a November 19, 2026 release date. It does not list a PC edition, PC system requirements, a graphics menu, or any frame-rate tests. Any “best settings,” GPU list, or promised FPS gain circulating before official PC information is published is speculation, not a tested recommendation.

Not being listed is narrower than being cancelled. The accurate statement is that PC is not included in the official platform information checked on October 13, 2026. Rockstar could publish different information later, so check the platform page and support materials again when making a hardware decision.

What you can and cannot do today
- You cannot apply a verified PC preset. No released PC build or official settings menu has been documented.
- You cannot calculate a reliable target GPU, CPU, RAM amount, VRAM capacity, storage requirement, or expected FPS. None has been published for GTA VI PC.
- You cannot validate a compatibility checker or optimization utility for this game. Without an official build and measured baseline, a claimed percentage improvement has no reproducible reference.
- Console editions are not a substitute for PC guidance. A console pre-order or physical download code does not reveal the options, resolution modes, or frame-rate behavior of a hypothetical PC release.
- You cannot infer a setting from a trailer. Footage may use a console capture, a development build, a fixed camera, or editing that says nothing about a PC menu or real-time frame pacing.
- You should not treat a retailer badge as a requirement. “GTA 6 ready” is marketing unless Rockstar publishes specifications and independent testing confirms performance.
That limitation is useful: it prevents you from spending money on a graphics-card upgrade based on a number that Rockstar has never stated or anyone has measured in a released PC version.
Why GTA V PC requirements are not GTA VI requirements
Rockstar maintains a separate support page for Grand Theft Auto V PC system requirements, last updated December 10, 2025. That page covers GTA V Enhanced and GTA V Legacy, not GTA VI.
For example, GTA V Enhanced’s recommended graphics hardware is listed as an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 8GB of VRAM or an AMD Radeon RX 6600XT with 8GB of VRAM. Those figures describe GTA V’s tested software targets. They are not a GTA VI recommendation, a minimum requirement, or a prediction of how GTA VI will run.
Reusing the GTA V numbers would ignore changes that can affect performance, including a different game build, streaming system, world density, lighting technology, shader-compilation behavior, animation systems, and whatever resolution-scaling or ray-tracing options a future PC version might expose. Even two games using similar engines can have very different CPU, memory, and storage behavior. Until Rockstar documents those options and a released build is tested, the only defensible hardware answer is “not stated.”
How a genuine higher-FPS guide should be built after a PC release
When official PC information arrives, a useful settings guide should report measured trade-offs rather than declare one universal preset. The following procedure makes results comparable and lets a reader reproduce them.

- Verify the exact build. Record the game version, patch number, graphics-driver version, operating system, and whether testing uses a launch build or a later update. A patch can change shader compilation, streaming, CPU scheduling, or frame pacing.
- Set a documented baseline. Record the CPU model and power limits, GPU model and driver, VRAM, system RAM, storage device, display resolution, refresh rate, operating-system power mode, and background applications. State whether testing uses a fresh shader cache, an uncapped frame rate, and an SSD.
- Choose a repeatable scene. Use the same save, route, camera movement, weather, time of day, population conditions, and mission state for every run. A crowded city sequence, a high-speed drive, a storm, and an empty rural scene can produce very different CPU and GPU loads.
- Warm up streaming and shaders. Repeat the route enough times to distinguish first-run compilation or asset streaming from steady-state performance. Record whether a stutter happened only on the first pass.
- Change one class of option at a time. Keep resolution, upscaling mode, texture quality, shadows, reflections, ray tracing, geometry distance, and effects fixed while measuring the option under test. Otherwise, an apparent gain cannot be attributed to a specific setting.
- Measure more than an average FPS number. Record average frame rate together with frame-time behavior, including 1% lows or traversal stutter when the measurement tool supports them. A higher average that delivers uneven frame pacing may feel worse.
- Identify the limiting component. A GPU-limited run benefits from resolution, ray-tracing, shadow, or effects changes; a CPU-limited run may gain more from population, traffic, distance, or simulation-related options. A setting should not be called a performance fix unless the measured bottleneck explains the change.
- Check image quality at the same output resolution. Inspect foliage, distant geometry, reflections, hair, particles, water, and fine text after each change. Upscaling can increase FPS while reducing detail or introducing ghosting and shimmering, so the visual cost belongs beside the performance result.
- Test demanding and ordinary scenes. A setting that looks harmless in a quiet location may create spikes during weather, explosions, dense traffic, or a fast traversal sequence. Report the worst repeatable section as well as the average run.
- Publish the complete test conditions. Name the hardware, resolution, quality preset, upscaler, ray-tracing state, driver, game build, measurement method, and whether frame-rate caps or variable-refresh technology were enabled. Results without those details cannot be compared fairly.
Settings that should be compared when they actually exist

The table is a testing plan, not a list of confirmed GTA VI menu items. Only categories present in the released PC build should be reported as settings.
How to interpret future recommendations
Prefer measured ranges over one “best” preset
Different monitors and hardware targets require different compromises. A 60Hz display, a 120Hz display, and a high-refresh setup do not have the same frame-rate goal. A careful guide can provide separate profiles only after testing them, such as an image-quality profile, a balanced profile, and a latency-focused profile. Each profile should show the resolution, upscaler, visual compromises, average FPS, frame-time behavior, and named hardware.

Recommendations should also state whether the target is a sustained 60 FPS, a stable 30 FPS, or a higher refresh-rate cap. A brief peak above the target is not the same as holding that target during traversal, combat, weather, and crowded scenes.
Separate GPU-limited and CPU-limited advice
If lowering resolution barely changes performance while crowd density or distance options do, the processor or simulation thread may be limiting the run. If resolution or ray tracing produces a large change, the graphics processor is more likely the constraint. Presenting the wrong fix can make a reader reduce image quality without gaining useful frames.
Monitoring should be interpreted in context. A low overall CPU percentage can still hide one saturated game thread, while a GPU that is not fully utilized may simply be waiting on simulation, asset streaming, or synchronization. Future guides should explain the observed bottleneck instead of using one utilization number as proof.

Treat VRAM warnings as evidence, not assumptions
A future guide should state the VRAM allocation, texture level, resolution, and scene used when reporting streaming problems. It should not infer a GTA VI VRAM requirement from GTA V, another game, or a leaked specification. A warning in a menu is not equivalent to a measured failure, and a high allocation is not automatically a problem if frame times remain stable.
Distinguish a settings gain from a system fix
Driver updates, shader-cache resets, background applications, thermal throttling, and power limits can affect a run independently of the graphics menu. A proper comparison changes one variable, repeats the test, and reports variance. “Disable every service” or “install an optimizer” is not a substitute for identifying the actual bottleneck, and a claimed percentage gain should include the baseline used to calculate it.
Should you buy a GPU or gaming PC for GTA 6 now?
No GTA VI-specific purchase can be justified from the official information currently available. There is no PC edition to buy, no published minimum or recommended specification, no graphics menu, and no tested performance benefit for a particular GPU, computer, monitor, controller, or optimization program.
Take-Two’s announcement cites more than 470 million units sold-in worldwide for Rockstar Games in company and franchise context. That is a scale figure, not a GTA VI PC performance statistic and not a basis for selecting hardware.
Do not buy a component because a retailer, video, or compatibility tool labels it “GTA 6 ready” unless Rockstar has first published PC requirements and independent tests show how that component performs in the released build. A future hardware recommendation should identify the game version, resolution, quality settings, frame-rate target, measured result, and price at the time of the recommendation.

If you need a computer for other games or applications, choose it for those confirmed workloads rather than treating GTA VI as an unstated requirement. Keep receipts and return options in mind if a later PC announcement changes the specification target. - Official minimum and recommended requirements, including supported operating systems and any stated storage, memory, or graphics features.
- A released PC build that exposes its actual graphics options.
- Repeatable tests on identified CPU, GPU, RAM, VRAM, and storage combinations.
- Reported resolution, upscaling, quality settings, ray-tracing state, average FPS, and frame-time behavior.
- Image-quality checks that explain what each performance trade-off looks like, not just a single benchmark number.
- Testing after patches, with the build number and driver version retained so older results are not presented as current.
When those conditions are met, the guide should be updated from measured evidence: test named hardware, record the exact options, compare image quality and frame pacing, and separate CPU-limited from GPU-limited recommendations. Until then, the correct answer to “Best GTA 6 PC Graphics Settings for Higher FPS” is that no verified settings have been published.
