LSPDFR: turn Story Mode into police role-play
LSPDFR is the clearest choice when “change the whole game” means adopting a new identity and routine. Its project description presents it as a police modification for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V. You go on patrol, respond to AI-generated callouts and play as a cop, creating a law-enforcement simulation inside Story Mode rather than another cosmetic layer.
What the play loop adds
- Patrol: Free-roam driving becomes an assigned police shift instead of aimless travel between missions.
- AI callouts: Incidents provide reasons to move, assess a situation and respond.
- Officer perspective: You are operating as law enforcement, so ordinary streets and encounters are framed around policing rather than criminal missions.
This makes LSPDFR the strongest fit for a player who wants GTA V to feel like a different game every time they start a session. It changes the role you inhabit and the reason for exploring the map. It is not merely a vehicle pack or a lighting preset.
Who should choose it
Choose LSPDFR if you want patrol work, police role-play and callout-driven sessions. It is less suitable if your goal is simply to improve scenery or add occasional traffic interactions while retaining your existing character and routine.
Compatibility you must verify
LSPDFR depends on a broader framework ecosystem. LCPDFR’s documentation explains that GTA V title updates can interrupt modding because tools such as RAGE Plugin Hook, Script Hook V and Community Script Hook V .NET may need updates. When relevant, both RAGE Plugin Hook and LSPDFR itself must catch up with the game version. The documentation records a July 8, 2025 entry for GTA V version 3586.0 and notes that RAGE Plugin Hook compatibility was needed; that historical entry should not be treated as the latest build today.
The practical consequence is simple: do not install an old LSPDFR package immediately after a GTA V update and assume it will work. Confirm the current game build, the required RAGE Plugin Hook version and the LSPDFR release that supports it. The project page includes an Enhanced Edition preview, but the available description does not establish that every plugin in the surrounding ecosystem is ready for every Enhanced build. PullMeOverRemade: add traffic enforcement to normal driving
PullMeOverRemade is for players who want more to do during an ordinary drive, not a complete switch to a police-player career. Its page describes a configurable traffic-enforcement system for GTA V single-player. Officers can observe driving, detect traffic offences, follow a vehicle, initiate a stop, approach on foot, inspect documents and issue either a warning or a citation.
How it changes free roam
Without replacing Story Mode’s central activities, the mod turns a routine trip into a chain of possible interactions. Driving is no longer only a way to reach a mission marker: traffic behaviour can attract attention, a vehicle can be followed, and a stop can proceed through several stages. Because the system is configurable, the experience can be tuned toward occasional interruptions or a more enforcement-heavy rhythm according to the options exposed by the mod.
Who should choose it
Pick PullMeOverRemade if you like the idea of traffic rules, roadside interactions and procedural encounters but do not want to play an entire police shift. It is the middle ground between an untouched driving game and LSPDFR’s dedicated officer role.
Exact requirements listed by the project
The mod page specifies a minimum GTA V game version of 1.0.3788.0. It also requires a compatible ScriptHookVDotNet 3 Nightly build and identifies these dependencies:

- SHVDN3 Nightly
- The SHVDN3 version of LemonUI
Legacy and Enhanced editions use different APIs. Install the package and dependencies intended for your edition, and do not mix Legacy files with Enhanced files. The page marks the project as Story Mode only and says it is not intended for GTA Online.

Why the edition warning matters
Script-based mods are not interchangeable simply because they have similar names. A file built against one API can fail to load, produce errors or destabilize the game when placed in the other edition. Before copying anything, identify whether your installation is Legacy or Enhanced, read the mod page’s current package instructions and obtain the matching ScriptHookVDotNet and LemonUI variants. Recheck the requirements after every GTA V update.
VisualV: transform the atmosphere rather than the activities
VisualV is the choice for a world that should look and feel different every time you drive through it. Its description focuses on rewritten weather, greater visibility of lights, revised fog and clouds, higher-quality vehicle shadows and changes to color treatment.
What you can expect visually
- Weather: Reworked weather conditions alter the tone of daytime and nighttime scenes.
- Lighting: More visible lights change how streets, buildings and vehicles read after dark.

VisualV does not add a police career or a traffic-stop system. It changes presentation, so it works best for a player who already enjoys GTA V’s activities but finds the default atmosphere flat or repetitive.
Performance expectations
A rendering change is not automatically a performance improvement. The project description establishes visual changes, not a guaranteed frame-rate gain, lower hardware requirements or crash-free operation. Evaluate it as an atmosphere overhaul and use the current installation guidance for your exact edition and hardware.
Which mod matches the experience you want?
Choose LSPDFR for a new identity
Select LSPDFR when your priority is to become an officer, patrol the map and respond to AI callouts. It changes the purpose of free roam most dramatically and has the largest dependency surface because it relies on a plugin framework and related tools.

Choose PullMeOverRemade for richer everyday driving
Select PullMeOverRemade when driving itself is the focus. You retain ordinary Story Mode exploration while adding a configurable enforcement loop: observation, pursuit of a suspected offender, a roadside stop, document inspection and a warning or citation.
Choose VisualV for a different mood
Select VisualV when your complaint is that Los Santos looks or feels stale rather than that it lacks activities. It is the most presentation-focused option and does not replace the core Story Mode role.
Can you combine them?
The available descriptions do not establish a guaranteed compatibility combination for all three. LSPDFR and PullMeOverRemade both depend on script frameworks, while VisualV changes world assets and rendering. Combining mods increases the number of files and frameworks that can conflict, especially across Legacy and Enhanced editions. Add one mod at a time, confirm that the game starts and behaves as expected, and follow each project’s current compatibility notes rather than assuming that a popular combination is supported.

These are downloaded modifications, not physical upgrades. A careful installation plan reduces the chance that an update or leftover file leaves you with an unbootable Story Mode.

- Read the mod’s current page first. Requirements change when GTA V, Script Hook V, RAGE Plugin Hook or ScriptHookVDotNet changes. Treat older installation guides as general context, not a promise of current compatibility.
- Back up the clean installation. Keep an untouched copy or a reliable way to restore original files before adding scripts, loaders or visual assets.
- Install only the dependencies named for that mod. For PullMeOverRemade, that means the compatible ScriptHookVDotNet 3 Nightly build, Script Hook V, SHVDN3 Nightly and the SHVDN3 LemonUI package, with the correct Legacy or Enhanced API.
- Copy files only where the project instructs. PC Gamer’s general guide describes downloaded Script Hook files and dependencies being copied into the PC game directory, but its guide is older; use the individual project’s current layout and filenames.
- Test Story Mode before adding another mod. Start the game, load a save and exercise the mod’s main feature. This isolates failures instead of leaving several possible causes.
- Keep GTA Online separate. The installation guidance warns against taking mods into GTA Online. Use a clean, unmodified setup for online play and follow Rockstar’s current policy guidance for any account-safety question.
Updates, loaders and leftover files
GTA V title updates can break a previously working setup even when the mod itself has not changed. LCPDFR documentation specifically calls out RAGE Plugin Hook, Script Hook V and Community Script Hook V .NET as tools that may need updates, and says LSPDFR may also need an update. Wait for the framework and the mod to support the new game build instead of repeatedly reinstalling the same old files.
OpenIV’s mods-folder overlay
The same documentation warns that OpenIV’s mods-folder overlay can retain older files after an update. Those leftovers can conflict with refreshed game or framework files. The guidance recommends refreshing files and mentions Lenny’s Mod Loader as an alternative where possible. This is community support guidance rather than official Rockstar documentation, so follow the current instructions for the loader and the mod you are using.
What to do after a failed update
- Stop launching modded Story Mode repeatedly if the game began failing immediately after a title update.
- Check the current GTA V build and compare it with the supported versions of your script framework and mod.
- Remove or refresh stale overlay files rather than layering new files over an unknown old state.
- Restore the clean backup if you cannot identify which component is incompatible.
- Reinstall only after the project pages confirm compatible versions, then test one component at a time.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Installing an edition-mismatched package
PullMeOverRemade explicitly distinguishes Legacy and Enhanced APIs. A package for the wrong edition can fail before the mod’s features appear. Verify the edition first and keep the corresponding dependencies together.
Assuming a graphics overhaul adds gameplay
VisualV changes weather, lighting, fog, clouds, shadows and color treatment. It does not provide the patrol and callout loop of LSPDFR or the traffic-enforcement interactions of PullMeOverRemade.

Expecting every plugin to be ready after a patch
A new GTA V build can leave RAGE Plugin Hook, Script Hook V, Community Script Hook V .NET or individual plugins waiting for updates. Compatibility is a moving condition, not a permanent feature.
Using a modded installation online
The PullMeOverRemade page says Story Mode only and not intended for GTA Online. General installation guidance also warns readers to keep mods out of GTA Online. Maintain a clean online environment.
Adding several mods before testing
When multiple frameworks and file overlays are installed at once, a crash or missing feature becomes difficult to diagnose. Install sequentially, test the principal feature and keep notes about what changed.
A practical decision checklist
- Do you want to act as a police officer and answer callouts? Start with LSPDFR.
- Do you want traffic stops and enforcement while keeping ordinary driving? Start with PullMeOverRemade.
- Do you want a different weather, lighting and color atmosphere without a new job? Start with VisualV.
- Are you running Enhanced? Verify Enhanced-specific packages and plugin support before installing.
- Did GTA V update recently? Check framework and mod compatibility before launching the old setup.
- Do you also play GTA Online? Keep a clean installation separate from Story Mode mods.
Bottom line: the “best” mod depends on the kind of change
LSPDFR is the strongest whole-game transformation because it replaces the usual criminal free-roam perspective with police patrols and AI callouts.
