Until the update and full patch notes are available, treat any settings advice as provisional.
What graphics settings are announced for Metro Redux?
Deep Silver announced two console output targets: true 4K at 60 FPS and upscaled 4K at 120 FPS. These are publisher-announced capabilities, not independently verified results or confirmed selectable presets. The announcement does not say whether players can choose between them, whether both are available on every console, or what labels and controls will appear in the graphics menu. For now, a cautious interim choice is the best-resolution 60 FPS experience available by default. Consider 120 FPS only if the game exposes that option on your console and your display supports it. This is provisional guidance based on the announced targets, not a verified in-game recommendation.

Deep Silver says the upscaled 4K/120 FPS output requires suitable monitor or TV hardware. A 4K 120 Hz display is relevant if you want to use that announced target; the announcement does not say such a display is needed for 4K/60 FPS. It also does not specify a particular display model or connection standard, so do not assume that buying a display guarantees a selectable 120 FPS mode.

What changes are announced for PS5 and Xbox?
The update is described as a modernization of the existing games, not a full remaster or remake. Deep Silver says it aims to preserve the original experience and aesthetic while adding technical and quality-of-life improvements. Announced enhancements include 4K textures, improved animation fidelity, higher-quality audio, richer environmental detail, community-led bug fixes, higher-quality lighting, shadows and particle effects, hardware tessellation, and runtime displacement.

The announcement does not spell out the availability of every listed feature for each console model. It therefore does not establish a visual or performance winner between PS5, PS5 Pro, Series X, and Series S.

When can you verify the final settings?
The announced console update date is October 29, 2026. Deep Silver says full technical patch notes, including platform-specific features, will be revealed at launch. Its announcement also says the update is free for existing owners of the covered games on the listed platforms. Until the notes and actual game menus are available, exact per-console settings and mode recommendations remain unconfirmed.
After launch, compare the options actually offered on your console: resolution and frame-rate modes, whether the image is native or upscaled, platform-specific reconstruction and anti-aliasing, Series S versus Series X performance and image quality, and display compatibility for 120 FPS. The announcement supplies only partial information on those points.
