Start with Balanced. It is the best default for a phone that meets the game’s recommended hardware tier. Official mobile requirements
The game’s support page, updated November 28, 2025, separates minimum compatibility from a recommended performance tier. Meeting the minimum means the game can be supported; it does not guarantee that the highest preset will remain smooth.

Apple device support is model-specific, so an iPad that is not named on the requirements page should not be assumed to qualify solely because it runs a recent version of iPadOS. SEGA also warns that compatible devices can still experience problems because of performance limits, network conditions, or model-specific behavior.
Check the requirements before tuning graphics
- On Android, open Settings > About phone to check the model, Android version, and available memory information. Manufacturer menus differ, so use the model number when verifying the processor.
- On iPhone or iPad, open Settings > General > About and note the model name and software version.
- Check free storage in Settings > Storage (Android) or Settings > General > iPhone/iPad Storage (Apple).
- Do not treat 9 GB as comfortable working space. Updates and repairs can need several additional gigabytes.
What each graphics preset is for
The game exposes four named presets rather than a published per-option tuning sheet. The table below describes the practical trade-offs you should expect when selecting among them; no authoritative source publishes a universal frame-rate or battery-runtime figure for each preset.

These are presets, not guarantees. A phone can start a session smoothly at Max Quality and slow down later as its chassis heats. Judge a setting by the worst part of a normal session, not by the first minute after launch.
How to set up Balanced for a stable baseline
- Restart the phone to clear a long-running background workload.
- Close games, video editors, cloud-sync jobs, navigation, and other demanding apps.
- Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network when possible, especially for updates or data repair.
- Launch the game and open Menu > Graphics.
- Select Balanced, apply the change if the game presents a confirmation, and return to play.
- Play a representative session that includes menus, exploration, and combat. Watch for uneven frame pacing, touch response that feels delayed, sudden pauses, or a sharp temperature increase.
- If the phone stays cool and delivery remains smooth, test High Quality. If it heats up or stutters, select Power Saving instead.
Use the same scene and roughly the same session length when comparing presets. Changing several phone settings at once makes it difficult to identify which change helped.

Battery and heat settings outside the game
Match display refresh rate to the game’s target
Android Developers notes that higher refresh rates make scrolling and other interactions feel smoother but increase display power consumption. When the display refresh rate is higher than the game’s target frame rate, the extra refreshes provide no gaming benefit while still consuming more power.
If your phone offers a refresh-rate selector, choose the lowest mode that still feels smooth for this game. A mode close to the game’s actual target is usually a better battery compromise than forcing the panel to its maximum rate. The game does not publish a universal target frame rate, so compare modes by observing smoothness and drain on your specific model rather than assuming that 120 Hz will produce 120 frames per second.

Reduce heat before it triggers throttling
Android Developers explains that high CPU and GPU utilization generates heat. As the device warms, power efficiency falls; thermal protection can downclock the processor and graphics hardware, reducing performance and increasing the time needed to complete the same work.
- Lower the in-game preset before the phone becomes uncomfortably hot.
- Take a break between long sessions instead of continuing through repeated stutter.
- Remove a thick case during demanding play only if doing so is safe and practical for your device.
- A clip-on smartphone cooling fan can help users who regularly encounter heat-related throttling. It is an optional accessory, not a requirement or a product endorsed by the game publisher.
- Avoid charging in a hot environment while running the highest preset; charging adds another heat source.
Use the phone’s battery modes carefully
System-wide battery-saver modes can restrict background activity or processor behavior. They may extend battery life, but some phones also reduce performance or alter refresh-rate behavior. If a system battery mode causes new stutter, compare it with the game’s Power Saving preset alone and keep the combination that remains responsive.

Keep the game on internal storage
SEGA advises Android users to check whether the app is installed on a microSD card. If it is, move it to the phone’s main internal storage and test again. Removable storage can add latency or create reliability problems on some devices.

Prevent background contention
Use the recent-apps screen to close resource-heavy apps, then restart the phone if problems persist. Disable automatic video uploads, large downloads, and hotspot use during a demanding session. These actions reduce competition for memory, CPU time, network bandwidth, and storage I/O.
iPhone and iPad-specific checks
Apple devices do not offer the same range of processor and refresh-rate controls as Android phones, so the most effective controls are the game’s preset, free storage, software version, and thermal conditions.
- Install the latest available iOS or iPadOS update that remains compatible with your model.
- Close demanding apps before launching the game, especially camera, video, navigation, and augmented-reality apps.
- Keep the device out of direct sun and remove a heat-trapping case during extended play when safe.
- Use Balanced first on an iPhone 11-class or newer device, then test High Quality only after a sustained session remains stable.
- On an iPhone XS or other minimum-tier model, begin with Power Saving if the phone is warm or the scene becomes uneven.
Troubleshoot lag, stutter, or failed launches
Follow these checks in order. Test the game after each major change so you know which remedy worked.
- Verify compatibility. Confirm the processor, RAM class, operating-system version, and available storage against the official requirements.
- Free storage. Keep more than the stated 9 GB minimum available, because updates and data repair may need temporary space.
- Close apps and restart. This clears background workloads and resets a device that has been running for a long time.
- Check connectivity. Use stable Wi-Fi or a reliable cellular connection. Network instability can look like game lag even when graphics performance is adequate.
- Lower graphics. From the home screen, open Menu > Graphics and move from Max or High Quality to Balanced, then to Power Saving if necessary.
- Move Android storage. If the app is on a microSD card, move it to internal storage as SEGA recommends.
- Repair local data. Open Title Menu (≡) > Repair Local Data. A stable connection is required because damaged files may be downloaded again.
When to use Repair Local Data
Use this option for persistent launch failures, corrupted-looking assets, or problems that remain after restarting and lowering graphics. It is not a routine performance setting. Because the game may download files again, start the repair on Wi-Fi and allow substantial free storage.
Storage planning for updates and repairs
The Version 1.11.0 notice lists an estimated mobile app size of approximately 8.4 GB and an approximately 2.3 GB mobile download after maintenance. It also warns that deleting local data for optimization can require an approximately 7–9 GB mobile re-download and recommends Wi-Fi.

The practical result is to reserve considerably more than 9 GB before an update. A phone with only the minimum free space may install the current app yet fail during a large patch or local-data repair. Before maintenance, remove unused downloads, move photos or videos elsewhere, and leave enough room for both the download and temporary installation files.

Long commute or travel session
Select Power Saving, use a refresh rate close to the game’s target, and begin with a full battery. Keep connectivity stable; repeated reconnects can consume power and interrupt play. A USB-C power bank is useful when an outlet is unavailable, but it does not reduce heat by itself.
Short session focused on visual quality
On a device above the recommended tier, test High Quality or Max Quality for the length of the session you actually play. Stop or lower the preset if the chassis becomes hot, input feels delayed, or stutter appears after several minutes.
Older minimum-tier phone
Use Power Saving as the default, close every unnecessary background app, keep the game in internal storage on Android, and avoid playing while the phone is already hot. Balanced is a test option, not an obligation.

Do not assume the hardware is the only variable. Check free storage, network stability, refresh rate, background downloads, case-related heat, and whether the issue began after an update. Lower the preset temporarily and use Repair Local Data only when file corruption is plausible.

How to evaluate a setting without misleading yourself
- Test the same content: compare similar combat or exploration scenes rather than an idle menu.
- Test sustained play: include enough time for the phone to warm; initial smoothness is not proof of sustained performance.
- Watch frame delivery, not just a counter: repeated hitching, delayed touch response, and uneven motion matter more than a brief peak.
- Record temperature and battery trend: note whether the phone becomes hotter or loses charge substantially faster after each preset change.
- Change one variable: alter the graphics preset first, then refresh rate or system battery mode, so cause and effect remain clear.
No authoritative source currently provides per-phone FPS tables or battery-runtime charts for these presets. Any exact runtime or frame-rate promise would therefore be misleading; your device model, ambient temperature, network activity, battery health, and session length all affect the result.
Frequently overlooked causes of battery drain
- High refresh rate: the display can consume more power even when the game is not producing additional frames.
- Thermal inefficiency: a hot phone uses power less efficiently, and throttling can prolong the workload.
- Background synchronization: cloud backups, app updates, and media uploads can run during play.
- Poor connectivity: an unstable signal can keep radios active and cause repeated retries.
- Large maintenance downloads: updates and local-data repairs use both storage and network power.
Address the cause rather than simply lowering graphics. Power Saving is the fastest broad fix, but it cannot correct a failing network, a nearly full storage volume, or a damaged installation.
