The Thrustmaster T-GT III is a forthcoming PS5 wheel, not an option you can buy yet: Thrustmaster says its bundle is expected to go on sale December 3, 2026. If you need a wheel sooner, the strongest documented alternatives for Gran Turismo 7 include the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro, Logitech G923, Thrustmaster T248 and T300RS GT Edition. For a higher-end direct-drive setup, consider Fanatec’s ClubSport DD+ or Gran Turismo DD Extreme.
Which PS5 wheel should you choose for GT7?
There is no evidence here for a universal winner: the available information establishes platform support and manufacturer-stated features, not a comparative test. Choose by the hardware approach and bundle you want, then check the exact PlayStation model and included equipment in the regional listing.

- For a documented direct-drive bundle: The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro is an official Gran Turismo Direct Drive product designed with Polyphony Digital. PlayStation’s racing-wheel guide describes its plug-and-play bundle as including a wheel, base, pedals and desk clamp.
- For a more accessible named option: The Logitech G923 is included in PlayStation’s racing-wheel guide. Gran Turismo’s compatibility notice documents PS5 connectivity fixes and GT7 TRUEFORCE effects for engine and wheel-slip vibration.
- For Thrustmaster alternatives available before the T-GT III: The T248 has three selectable hybrid force-feedback modes adjustable from the wheel; the T300RS GT Edition uses a dual-belt system and brushless motor, which PlayStation describes as a smooth force-feedback setup.
- For a higher-end direct-drive package: Fanatec identifies the ClubSport DD+ and Gran Turismo DD Extreme as flagship PlayStation-compatible packages and says GT7’s Spec III update added FullForce support for them.
- If you specifically want the T-GT III: Wait for its announced launch and verify local availability and final retailer pricing. Its announced sale date is in the future as of October 4, 2026.
Compare the documented options
| Wheel | Feedback or stated torque | GT7- or bundle-specific details |
|---|---|---|
| Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro | Direct Drive; 5 Nm maximum torque. Optional Boost Kit 180, sold separately, can raise the stated maximum to 8 Nm (PlayStation racing-wheel guide). | PlayStation describes the plug-and-play bundle as including wheel, base, pedals and desk clamp; it is an official Gran Turismo product designed with Polyphony Digital. |
| Logitech G923 | Torque figure not stated in the cited PlayStation wheel guide. | GT7 uses TRUEFORCE effects for engine and wheel-slip vibration, according to Gran Turismo’s compatibility notice. PS5 connectivity fixes were included in system software 23.01-07.00.00, released March 8, 2023. |
| Thrustmaster T248 | Hybrid force feedback; torque figure not stated in the cited PlayStation wheel guide. | Three selectable force-feedback modes can be adjusted from the wheel. PlayStation describes it as officially licensed for PS5 and PS4 and compatible with PC. |
| Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition | Dual-belt system and brushless motor; torque figure not stated in the cited PlayStation wheel guide. | PlayStation presents it as a smooth force-feedback option in Thrustmaster’s lineup. |
| Fanatec ClubSport DD+ and Gran Turismo DD Extreme | Fanatec states a 15 Nm dynamic range for the packages. | Fanatec says GT7 Spec III added FullForce support, and that all Fanatec steering wheels can be used with the ClubSport DD+ in GT7. |
| Thrustmaster T-GT III | Thrustmaster states 5 Nm constant torque, with overshoot capacity up to 10 Nm. | Announced with Direct Axial Drive, a native load-cell pedal set, a leather-finished wheel and four GT-mapped rotary encoders. Bundle availability is announced for December 3, 2026. |
These figures do not form a like-for-like performance ranking. The DD Pro’s maximum torque, the T-GT III’s constant torque and overshoot capacity, and Fanatec’s dynamic-range figure use different stated measures. They should not be treated as directly comparable test results.

What to check before buying
Confirm the PlayStation version
Wheel families can have platform-specific versions. Confirm that the exact model or SKU in the retailer listing supports PlayStation 5; a similarly named PC or Xbox variant is not interchangeable evidence of PS5 compatibility. PlayStation’s wheel guide is a useful starting point, but it is a Polish regional page, so local product names and availability may differ.
#1 Best Overall
- Immersive Gaming Experience: Perfect for PlayStation 5, PS4 and PC gaming titles, the Driving Force simulates the feeling of driving a real car with precision steering and pressure-sensitive pedals
- Premium Control: The Driving Force feedback racing wheel provides a detailed simulation of driving a real car, with helical gearing delivering smooth, quiet steering and a hand-stitched leather cover
- Customizable Pedals: These pressure-sensitive nonlinear brake pedals provide a responsive, accurate braking feel on a sturdy base - with adjustable pedal faces for finer control
- 900-Degree Rotation: Lock-to-lock rotation of the Driving Force means you can turn the wheel around two and a half times, hand over hand on wide turns - just like a real F1 race car
- Up Your Game: Take your racing simulation to the next level with Driving Force accessories like the Driving Force Shifter or desk and rig mounts
Check what the bundle includes
Do not assume pedals, a desk clamp or other mounting hardware are included just because a product family offers them. PlayStation specifies those items for the DD Pro plug-and-play bundle, while Thrustmaster says the T-GT III natively includes a load-cell pedal set. For other listings, verify the contents of the particular package you plan to buy.
Match features to how you play
Hybrid or belt-based force feedback and Direct Drive are different hardware approaches; the cited sources do not establish that one is better for every GT7 player. If in-game controls matter, the T-GT III’s four GT-mapped rotary encoders are a stated feature. If GT7’s supported effects matter, the relevant documented distinctions are G923 TRUEFORCE effects and FullForce support on the Fanatec DD+ and DD Extreme after Spec III.

Use torque numbers cautiously
Only compare a torque claim after checking what it measures and how the maker presents it. The available figures are manufacturer or platform specifications, not measurements from a shared test. PlayStation and the cited manufacturers do not state a torque figure for the G923, T248 or T300RS GT Edition in the referenced product information.
What the GT7 compatibility history establishes
Gran Turismo’s November 21, 2023 version 1.41 update listed the T-GT/T-GT II, Logitech G923 and Logitech G PRO Racing Wheel in a fix for incorrect vibration output when vibration strength was set to 130 or higher. That is evidence of a historical game-specific fix, not a complete current compatibility list. The March 8, 2023 PS5 software notice for the G923 likewise documents a connectivity fix and GT7 TRUEFORCE behavior, rather than a general ranking of wheels.

Consider the DD+ or DD Extreme for the higher-end direct-drive tier.
