There is no single best gaming laptop for Resident Evil remakes. Capcom’s performance targets describe what its settings can achieve. They are not measured results for any particular laptop. Capcom’s Japanese-language note on the recommended setting reads, in translation from the Japanese original: with the quality-focused graphics option, 1080p/60fps gameplay is possible, although frame rates may fall in demanding scenes.
Ray tracing needs a stronger GPU
Capcom lists different ray tracing GPUs in each section, so the threshold depends on which performance tier you want:
- Minimum-spec section: Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 2060 for ray tracing.
- Recommended-spec section: Radeon RX 6700 XT or GeForce RTX 2070 for ray tracing.
These are desktop GPU names. If you want ray tracing on a laptop, check that the specific laptop GPU is in the same performance class and that its power limit supports sustained play.

How to read a laptop GPU listing
- Compare the exact laptop GPU name, such as “RTX 5070 Laptop GPU,” rather than assuming it matches the desktop card with the same number.
- Look for the GPU’s power limit (often shown as TGP, in watts). A higher limit usually means more sustained performance, but only if the cooling can handle it.
- Check the chassis and cooling design. Thin chassis may throttle under long sessions even with a capable GPU.
- Look for a benchmark on that exact configuration. The reviews behind these picks are general gaming-laptop assessments, not Resident Evil benchmarks for every model.

Lenovo’s US product page lists an RTX 5070 version of the Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 AMD. Lenovo Philippines describes configurations with up to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. These listings are region-specific, so confirm RAM, display, GPU power, price, and warranty on the page for your country before you buy.
What to check before you buy
- GPU and power limit: Confirm the exact laptop GPU and its listed power limit.
- RAM: Choose at least 16GB to match Capcom’s recommended specification.
- Storage: Check SSD capacity in the exact SKU. Capcom’s requirements do not state an install size, so base your choice on how many large games you plan to keep installed.
- Display: Check size, resolution, refresh rate, and panel type. The G14 example above is a 14-inch 2880×1800 120Hz OLED.
- Weight and charger: Consider how much you will carry and whether the charger is bulky.
- Battery and noise: Plugged-in gaming and mobile use have different priorities. Check battery life and fan noise under load.
- Ports, warranty, and upgradeability: Confirm ports, warranty terms, and whether RAM or storage can be upgraded.
- Region and stock: Confirm local availability, regional SKU, and price at the point of sale.
