Forza Horizon 5: the closest fit for festival racing
Choose Forza Horizon 5 if the appeal of Motorfest is the combination of a large driving world and a festival that continually gives you different reasons to explore. Playground Games sets the game in a rendition of Mexico and describes driving adventures, Showcase events, narrative Horizon Stories, Horizon Arcade activities and a Festival Playlist. Its guide also lists cross-platform convoys and multiplayer modes including Hide & Seek and The Eliminator.
That event-and-exploration structure makes it the most direct alternative of the two. The main difference is the setting: Horizon 5’s world is Mexico, not Motorfest’s Hawaiian archipelago. Playground Games’ April 24, 2025 guide lists Xbox, Steam, PC and PlayStation 5 for new players.

Need for Speed Unbound: choose a street-racing mood
Unbound suits players who want free roaming and vehicle customization wrapped in a street-racing identity, rather than a festival-led world. EA’s product page describes free-roam and PvP content, customization and post-launch material. That makes it a related option, not a one-to-one substitute for Motorfest’s themed playlists and broad festival structure.
EA’s product page lists purchase paths for Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic. Its news listing includes a February 3, 2025 post titled “END OF KAIZEN REVIEW,” which announced that no further updates were planned. Do not choose it on the assumption that more updates are coming.

What makes The Crew Motorfest different?
Motorfest’s defining combination is its Hawaiian setting and car-culture playlists. Ubisoft describes street races in Honolulu, off-road driving on volcanic slopes, race tracks and four islands. Its current product page lists more than 25 playlists and more than 800 vehicle models from more than 50 manufacturers. Those are publisher product-description figures, not independent measures of quality.
