Start with Mika and the Witch’s Mountain. It is the closest released game to Kiki’s Delivery Service because it combines a young witch, broom flight, package deliveries, small-town encounters and gentle self-discovery. Its developer, Chibig, openly identifies the film as an inspiration while emphasizing that Mika is an original game, not an official Studio Ghibli adaptation.
If you want the same delivery premise with more decorating, crafting and relationship systems, choose Flying Neko Delivery. For readers who mainly want the sensation of soaring through a beautiful world, Journey and Sky: Children of the Light are better mood matches, while A Short Hike offers gliding rather than powered flight.

- Low-pressure exploration and a coming-of-age tone.
The recommendations below separate those ingredients instead of treating every game with a flying character as an equivalent. Mika and the Witch’s Mountain and Flying Neko Delivery are the only two choices here that clearly center both broom flight and deliveries. The other games are useful when flight, exploration or atmosphere matters more than the delivery job.

1. Mika and the Witch’s Mountain: the closest overall match
Why it is the first recommendation
Chibig describes Mika and the Witch’s Mountain as a fantasy adventure about an aspiring witch who delivers packages to island townspeople by magic broom. That is the same basic combination that makes Kiki’s Delivery Service distinctive: a young witch, independent work, flight and a community that gradually becomes familiar.
The game is an original work rather than an unofficial adaptation. In a developer retrospective, Chibig names Kiki’s Delivery Service as a major inspiration but also explains that the team wanted Mika to have its own identity. That distinction matters: expect a similar emotional premise and visual appeal, not licensed characters, locations or a retelling of the film.
How the delivery loop works
The official game description presents a mini open world made up of island towns and the surrounding routes. You accept packages, carry them by broom and try to reach the recipient while protecting the parcel from water, damage and time limits. Villagers rate the service, so the job is not simply a waypoint-following exercise: your route and handling affect the result.

Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Successful deliveries earn money. That money can be exchanged for brooms with different flight abilities, giving the work a clear progression loop: deliver, earn, improve your equipment and reach more of the world with better aerial capabilities. Flight is therefore both the main way to explore and the skill system that grows as you play.
Tone and challenge
Chibig characterizes the game as cozy and lighthearted, but the delivery rules add more pressure than a pure sightseeing game. A parcel can be damaged, and a time limit may influence how you approach a route. Readers who want absolutely consequence-free wandering should know that the package-care system creates small moments of tension. It remains a gentle adventure rather than a combat-heavy game.
Release information and what is not confirmed
Chibig’s January 22, 2025 announcement listed versions for PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series. The same announcement said a physical Nintendo Switch edition had reached backers and that the studio intended a worldwide physical release in 2025. That is an announcement, not proof that copies are currently in stock in every region, so check the relevant storefront before buying.
Developer-reported scope
In Chibig’s January 15, 2025 full-launch announcement, the developer reported more than 60,000 copies sold after five months in Early Access. This is a historical, developer-reported figure, not a current sales total or an independently audited estimate.

That announcement also described more than eight hours of gameplay as the expected amount for the fuller release. Treat that as Chibig’s estimate at the time, not a guaranteed playtime for every player; completion speed and optional exploration can change the result.
“We want to thank our community for all the feedback and support they’ve shared with us during the Early Access —Abraham Cozar, Chibig’s CEO, says— because that has helped us launch a better experience today, a better game.”
Who should choose Mika?
- Choose it when the witch-and-broom-delivery premise is your highest priority.
- Choose it when package condition, ratings and equipment upgrades sound appealing rather than intrusive.
- Choose it when you want an original game that acknowledges Kiki’s Delivery Service as an influence without claiming to be an adaptation.
2. Flying Neko Delivery: the best life-sim alternative
A delivery job surrounded by cottage life
Flying Neko Delivery follows Onigiri, a feline witch who lives in a cottage and carries packages by broom. Nintendo’s listing makes the delivery premise explicit, but it surrounds the job with the slower routines many cozy-game players enjoy: exploring, collecting plants and fungi, cooking, crafting and decorating the cottage.
The result is less narrowly focused on the delivery route than Mika. Your work is still central, yet the world gives you reasons to land, forage and improve your home between flights.

Forgiving flight and progression
The game emphasizes forgiving broom controls and flying without crashing or combat. That makes it a strong choice if you want the fantasy of being a delivery witch without punishing navigation or aerial battles. Broom upgrades provide progression, while relationships with villagers add another reason to revisit familiar places.
Friendships can unlock rewards and portals, connecting the social system to movement through the world rather than leaving relationships as a separate menu activity. Cottage decoration, gathering and crafting provide additional goals for players who prefer an ongoing routine to a compact narrative adventure.
Release information
Nintendo lists a Nintendo Switch release date of October 20, 2022. The cited official descriptions establish the Switch release and the game’s systems; they do not establish current pricing, regional discounts or stock, which can change by storefront.

Who should choose it?
- Choose it when you want broom deliveries plus decorating, crafting and collecting.
- Choose it when forgiving controls and no combat are more important than delivery pressure.
- Choose it when relationships and repeatable cozy routines matter as much as the main story.
3. Flight-first alternatives when the delivery story is optional
These games do not match the witch-and-package premise as closely. They belong on the list because they capture the airy exploration, emotional warmth or gentle discovery that some readers actually want from a Kiki’s Delivery Service-like experience.
Journey: a compact emotional flight experience
PC Gamer’s September 13, 2026 feature describes Journey as a short, emotional story in which your ability to fly farther increases as the adventure continues. The appeal is the feeling of crossing a beautiful, mysterious landscape and building momentum toward a destination.
There is no established delivery-focused loop in the cited description, and the protagonist is not a witch. Pick Journey when the emotional arc and expanding sense of flight matter more than doing everyday work for villagers.
Sky: Children of the Light: social exploration with flight
The same PC Gamer feature characterizes Sky: Children of the Light as a miniature MMO with flight controls, exploration and puzzles. Its social scale and shared-world structure make it a different kind of experience from a solitary delivery story, but it can satisfy the desire to glide through a colorful world and discover places with other players.
It is a mood and movement match, not a documented package-delivery substitute. Choose it when social exploration, puzzles and sustained flying are the main attraction.
A Short Hike: gentle gliding, not broom flight
A Short Hike is the important near-match for readers who mainly want a low-pressure outdoor adventure. PC Gamer describes it as a lo-fi island exploration game with gliding. That distinction is essential: gliding is not powered flight, so you do not get the continuous broom-riding fantasy found in Mika or Flying Neko Delivery.
Its strength is the relaxed rhythm of wandering, climbing and taking in a small world. Choose it for the feeling of airy discovery, not for witches or deliveries.

4. Crescent County: a watchlist game with a motorbroom
Windows Central’s June 2025 Wholesome Direct roundup described Crescent County as a witchy solarpunk adventure built around a motorbroom. The announcement included deliveries, exploration, racing and relationships, making it one of the most promising premise matches for readers who want a faster, more social interpretation of the formula.
That report announced the game for PC and Xbox Series X, but the available information is dated and does not establish its release status as of this article. Treat it as a watchlist entry rather than a currently available recommendation. Verify a current launch date and storefront listing before planning a purchase.

5. The fan-made browser game for the most literal novelty
The itch.io listing for Kiki’s Delivery Service (Fan Made Game) describes a cozy HTML5 browser game in which you fly as Kiki and deliver cakes. The creator says the mechanics were intentionally kept limited, so this is a small fan project rather than a full-scale commercial adventure.
It is also not an official Studio Ghibli game. Labeling it fan-made is important because the title uses the film’s character and premise. Choose it when you want a quick browser experiment with the exact delivery fantasy and are comfortable with a deliberately narrow feature set.

If you want the closest possible premise
Pick Mika and the Witch’s Mountain. It is the only recommendation whose developer explicitly names Kiki’s Delivery Service as an inspiration while reproducing the aspiring-witch, broom-flight and package-delivery core.
If you want more life-sim customization

If you want to follow upcoming projects
Keep Crescent County on the watchlist, but check its current release information because the cited announcement is from June 2025.
If you want the exact film premise in miniature
Try the fan-made HTML5 browser game, understanding that it is intentionally limited and unofficial.

The meaningful divide is not simply “games with flying” versus “games without flying.” It is the difference between a delivery routine and a movement fantasy.
| Priority | Strongest choice | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Witch, broom and package deliveries together | Mika and the Witch’s Mountain | Package damage, time limits and ratings add light performance pressure |
| Deliveries plus home life and relationships | Flying Neko Delivery | The experience is more life-sim oriented than a focused coming-of-age story |

| Social flight and puzzles | Sky: Children of the Light | Its shared-world structure differs from a small-town solo delivery tale |
| Relaxed island exploration | A Short Hike | Gliding replaces powered flight, and deliveries are not established |

Availability and buying cautions
Platform announcements are time- and region-sensitive. Chibig’s January 2025 list for Mika covers PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, but a listed platform does not guarantee identical editions, languages or current storefront stock in every country.
The physical Nintendo Switch information for Mika is especially easy to overread. Chibig said a backer edition had reached supporters and that it intended a worldwide physical release in 2025. Neither statement confirms that a copy is currently available from a particular retailer.
Likewise, the Nintendo listing establishes Flying Neko Delivery’s Switch release date as October 20, 2022, but it does not establish a current price. Check the regional storefront for the edition you actually plan to buy.
Bottom line
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is the best answer to “What should I play after Kiki’s Delivery Service?” because it makes the witch, broom and delivery job its central design rather than borrowing only the mood. Flying Neko Delivery is the better alternative for players who want those deliveries embedded in a forgiving life sim with a cottage, crafting and friendships. The remaining recommendations are worthwhile when your priority shifts from the job itself to flight, exploration or a gentle atmosphere.
