Best Free Tools for 24/7 YouTube Streaming from Prerecorded Videos

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

OBS Studio is the clearest no-license-cost option for streaming prerecorded videos to YouTube, but it is not a free, unattended 24/7 hosting service. It runs on your computer, so you must keep that machine and its internet connection available. The cloud services covered here do not document a lasting free plan that meets the full 24/7 looping requirement: Streamloop’s signup credits last about an hour at standard quality, while OneStream Live’s free plan limits prerecorded streams to 15 minutes and does not support playlist streaming.

If you want to avoid running your own computer, StreamNeo is the #1 cloud option here: it keeps uploaded videos live on YouTube from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and the first day is free.

What “free 24/7 streaming” really means

There are two different costs to consider: the software and the operation. YouTube lists OBS Studio as open-source software available at no charge, but a local broadcast still depends on your computer and internet connection staying available. Electricity, bandwidth, and the time needed to monitor or recover a stream may also matter. A cloud service runs the broadcast on remote infrastructure, but a short free trial or a restricted free plan is not the same as ongoing free 24/7 service.

YouTube describes an encoder as software or hardware that converts video into a digital format and sends it to YouTube using the server URL and stream key. That explains why OBS can serve as the free encoding tool, but it does not establish a turnkey unattended playlist or recovery setup.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Best options, ranked for the 24/7 prerecorded-video goal

  1. StreamNeo — best fit for continuous cloud streaming. Upload videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer can be off. Any quality up to 4K 60fps is included at one flat price per slot, and the first day is free with no card. See StreamNeo.
  2. OBS Studio — best genuinely free software starting point. YouTube lists it as open-source and available at no charge. It is a local encoder, so you provide the running computer and connection. The available YouTube guidance does not establish a ready-made unattended playlist and automatic-recovery workflow for OBS.
  3. Streamloop — cloud trial, not a documented free 24/7 plan. Streamloop says new accounts receive credits for approximately one hour of standard-quality streaming, and that a stream pauses when credits run out. Treat the duration as the vendor’s estimate, not an independent measurement.
  4. OneStream Live — free plan, but not for a continuous prerecorded loop. Its Help Center, last updated August 24, 2026, says the free plan is available indefinitely, but prerecorded streams are limited to 15 minutes, capped at 720p, and playlist streaming is unavailable on that plan.
  5. Gyre — a cloud option to investigate, not a verified free recommendation. YouTube’s verified-encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streams. That directory entry does not establish a free plan or current price.

These are not equivalent offers: OBS is no-license-cost software, Streamloop’s credits are a short vendor-described trial, and OneStream’s free tier has limits that rule it out for continuous playlist looping. The available sources do not provide comparable, tested reliability or recovery results across providers; check each service’s current terms and recovery behavior before relying on it unattended.

Set up a local YouTube stream with OBS

  1. Check channel eligibility and enable live streaming. Follow YouTube’s live-stream setup in YouTube Studio. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this before the time you want to go live.
  2. Install OBS Studio. Get the software from its official project distribution. YouTube’s encoder guide lists Open Broadcaster Software as an open-source encoder available at no charge.
  3. Create or select the YouTube live stream. In YouTube Studio’s live control room, obtain the server URL and stream key for the stream you intend to run. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a broadcast to your channel.
  4. Connect OBS to YouTube. In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, then connect an account or choose the option to use a stream key, depending on the available setup flow. If entering details manually, copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio exactly.
  5. Add the prerecorded video as a source. Add a media source in OBS and select the video file. Configure the source to restart when playback ends if you want that single file to repeat. For a playlist of files, build and test the source or playlist workflow you plan to use; the YouTube encoder guidance does not prescribe an OBS playlist configuration.
  6. Choose output settings that fit the source and connection. Match the output resolution and frame rate to the video where practical, and choose a bitrate your sustained upload connection can support. Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for the selected resolution and frame rate; the available sources here do not establish one bitrate or keyframe interval that fits every stream. Avoid upscaling a low-resolution recording as a substitute for better source quality.
  7. Start the broadcast and verify it in YouTube Studio. Confirm that YouTube receives video and audio, check playback from the viewer side, and verify that the intended stream is live before leaving the computer unattended.
  8. Keep the setup running. A local encoder depends on the computer, OBS process, and internet connection remaining available. Prevent sleep, avoid planned restarts, and monitor the stream if an interruption would matter. The gathered guidance does not establish that a local OBS setup will automatically recover from every computer, network, or YouTube-side interruption.

Before streaming: rights, policy, and channel limits

  • Use material you own or have permission to broadcast. Prerecorded does not mean exempt from copyright. Clear the video, music, artwork, and any other included material for livestream use before putting it on a continuous loop.
  • Follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines. YouTube says live streams must comply with its rules and may remove or restrict streams that violate them. A tool cannot make disallowed material acceptable.
  • Check age and channel limits. YouTube’s live-stream help page, accessed October 3, 2026, states a minimum age of 16. It also documents a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key.
  • Do not treat a stream as a guaranteed growth or monetization shortcut. The tool and setup information here does not establish guaranteed discovery, watch time, audience growth, or monetization eligibility.

Common problems and what to check

  • YouTube does not accept the stream key: confirm the key belongs to the intended live control room, check for accidental spaces or an old key, and replace it in OBS if you reset it in YouTube Studio.
  • The stream does not start after enabling live access: if this is the channel’s first live stream, allow for YouTube’s stated activation window of up to 24 hours before troubleshooting OBS.
  • The stream stops when playback ends: inspect the OBS media source’s end-of-playback behavior. A single source must be configured to restart for a loop; do not assume playlist looping is configured merely because one video plays.
  • Video or audio stutters: check whether the upload connection can sustain the chosen output bitrate, reduce the output load if needed, and compare the output resolution and frame rate with the source and YouTube’s current encoder recommendations.
  • The stream goes offline when you leave: check for computer sleep, an OBS crash, a lost network connection, or a restart. A local encoder cannot keep sending while the host computer or connection is unavailable.
  • A cloud free offer stops unexpectedly: check the plan’s duration and playlist terms. Streamloop says its stream pauses when signup credits run out; OneStream’s documented free-plan limits do not support continuous prerecorded playlist streaming.
