1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf a black selfie-camera hole on the large unfolded display bothers you, the clearest documented choices are Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6. Samsung says each places the inner camera beneath the main screen. Among them, the Galaxy Z Fold6 is the current model to buy; the Fold5 is the value pick when discounted, while the Fold4 and Fold3 make sense only when their condition, remaining updates and warranty justify buying older hardware.
This distinction applies only to the unfolded inner panel. Every one of these book-style phones still has a visible front camera on its outer cover screen. If you want the best-looking selfies rather than the least visible inner camera, Samsung’s newer Galaxy Z Fold7 takes a different approach: its inner camera is a visible 10-megapixel punch hole, but Tom’s Guide reports better-looking selfies than the Fold6.

What “no camera cutout” means on a foldable
A foldable has two separate displays and, normally, two front-facing camera positions. The narrow outer cover screen needs its own selfie camera. The large interior screen can either place its camera in a visible punch-hole opening or hide it beneath the display.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Samsung’s support documentation uses unusually clear wording for this feature: the Galaxy Z Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6 have an under-display camera on the main screen when the phone is unfolded. The camera occupies the location where a cutout would otherwise appear, so video and apps can use the full rectangular panel without a black interruption.

| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 | Under-display camera | Samsung’s support page includes Fold6 in its no-cutout group. | Best documented current fit for an uninterrupted inner display. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 | Under-display camera | Samsung’s product information identifies the under-display-camera specification; Samsung support also lists Fold5. | Lower-cost alternative when new stock is discounted or a refurbished unit is well covered. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 | Under-display camera | Samsung support lists Fold4 in the group. | Used-market option for buyers who prioritize the display characteristic over newer hardware. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 | Under-display camera | Samsung support lists Fold3 in the group. | Oldest qualifying model; only buy after careful condition and support checks. |
| Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 | Visible 10 MP punch hole | Tom’s Guide reports that Samsung replaced the Fold6’s under-display 4 MP camera with a 10 MP punch-hole camera. | Choose for improved-looking selfies, not for a hole-free inner screen. |

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6: the safest recommendation
The Fold6 is the newest model in Samsung’s explicitly documented under-display inner-camera series. That makes it the least ambiguous choice for someone whose first requirement is an uninterrupted inner panel. Samsung’s support statement covers the unfolded main screen directly, rather than merely showing a marketing image or leaving the camera layout to inference.
With the inner phone open, the camera sits beneath the display instead of creating a circular black opening. This is most noticeable during full-screen video, reading, games and productivity apps with light backgrounds, where a punch hole would otherwise remain in your field of view.
There is a practical compromise: an under-display camera receives less direct light than a conventional camera opening. The cited material does not provide a laboratory image-quality comparison for the Fold6, so do not assume that the hidden design produces the best selfies. Samsung’s newer Fold7 change, discussed below, points in the opposite direction by making the inner camera visible while improving selfie output.
Who should buy it
- Anyone who wants the newest Samsung model that still has a manufacturer-documented hidden inner camera.
- Readers who spend more time using the large interior display than taking selfies from it.
- Buyers who want a current device rather than accepting the age and support risks of an older used Fold.
What to verify before ordering
- Confirm that the listing is a Galaxy Z Fold6 and not the newer Fold7, whose inner camera is visible.
- Check the region, warranty terms and return window; foldable availability and prices change by country and retailer.
- Look at the cover display in product photos, because its front camera remains visible even though the inner one is beneath the panel.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5: the value alternative
The Fold5 keeps the same inner-camera approach documented for the Fold series. Samsung’s product information identifies its under-display-camera specification, and Samsung support includes the model with Fold3, Fold4 and Fold6.
Its appeal is financial rather than photographic: as a previous generation, it is more likely to appear at a discount or in certified-refurbished channels. A lower purchase price is useful only if the individual unit is healthy. Foldables have moving hinges and flexible inner screens, so the condition of a used Fold5 matters more than a small difference in listed storage or color.

Checks for a discounted or refurbished Fold5
- Ask whether the warranty is provided by the manufacturer, an authorized refurbisher or the marketplace seller.
- Inspect the hinge for stiffness, grinding, uneven alignment or a gap that changes when the phone is opened.
- Open the phone fully and view white, gray and black backgrounds to reveal dead pixels, bright lines or a damaged protective layer.
- Test both displays, the inner and outer cameras, charging, speakers, microphones and fingerprint reader during the return period.
These are purchase safeguards, not claims that every Fold5 develops a fault. They are especially important because the model is older than the Fold6 and may have less remaining software support depending on the market and the unit’s original sale date.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4: an older no-cutout option
Samsung’s support documentation places the Fold4 in the same under-display inner-camera group. It can deliver the visual characteristic you want without paying for the newest generation, but the display feature alone does not make it a better buy than a discounted Fold5 or Fold6.
For a Fold4, evaluate the complete ownership picture: battery wear, hinge and inner-screen condition, update eligibility, proof of purchase and the seller’s return policy. A low used price can be offset by a battery replacement, an out-of-warranty display repair or a device that is no longer receiving the updates you expect in your region.
When the Fold4 makes sense
- The seller offers a meaningful discount compared with a Fold5 in comparable condition.
- The phone includes a verifiable warranty or a generous inspection period.
- You mainly want the uninterrupted inner display and do not need the newest camera, processor or connectivity features.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3: the earliest qualifying model
The Fold3 is the first model in the cited Samsung group with a manufacturer statement confirming an under-display camera on the unfolded main screen. It is therefore a genuine match for the strict no-inner-cutout requirement, but it is also the oldest phone in this list.
Age changes the buying decision. Battery capacity may have declined through normal use, the hinge may have accumulated more opening cycles and the remaining software-support period is shorter than for later Folds. Samsung’s support statement confirms the camera placement; it does not guarantee the condition, battery health or update status of an individual used unit.
Minimum inspection for a used Fold3
- Open and close the phone repeatedly, checking that both halves meet evenly and that the hinge does not catch.
- Run a solid-color test across the inner display and inspect the crease, edges and corners under bright light.
- Check battery diagnostics if the seller or service menu provides them, then test charging with a known-good charger.
- Verify that the phone is not carrier-locked, financed, reported lost or missing its original region-specific features.
- Confirm the latest software version available for that exact model and market before treating the price as a bargain.
Why the Galaxy Z Fold7 is not a no-cutout pick
The Fold7 illustrates the central trade-off. Tom’s Guide reports that Samsung replaced the Fold6’s 4 MP under-display inner camera with a 10 MP camera in a visible punch-hole opening. The review describes the hole as visually unattractive but says the newer camera takes better-looking photos.

That change means Fold7 should not appear in a strict list of phones that avoid a visible inner camera cutout. It may be the better purchase for someone who regularly takes selfies or makes video calls from the unfolded screen, while the Fold6 remains the better fit for someone who values an uninterrupted panel more than camera output.
HONOR Magic V5: attractive hardware, unresolved camera placement
HONOR’s official information records an 8.8-millimeter thickness, 217-gram weight and 5,820 mAh battery for the Magic V5, all figures identified as HONOR’s 2025 specifications. TechRadar lists twin 10 MP selfie cameras. Those details make it a serious general foldable alternative, but they do not establish whether the inner selfie camera is under the display or in a visible opening.
Do not infer a no-cutout design from the phone’s thinness, battery size or the number of selfie cameras. Before buying for this specific reason, inspect a live unit or an official image that clearly shows the unfolded screen, and confirm the exact regional model. TechRadar reported the Magic V5 unavailable in the United States at review time and available in the United Kingdom and Europe; availability can change.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold: do not assume from the specifications
Google’s official page confirms the Pixel 10 Pro Fold’s display and hardware specifications, but the cited specification material does not answer whether its inner camera is hidden beneath the panel or visible through a punch hole.
It can still belong in a broad foldable comparison for readers who care about software, cameras or Google’s ecosystem. It should not, however, be presented as a documented answer to the no-cutout question without a source that explicitly identifies the inner camera’s placement.

The outer display is designed for one-handed use when the phone is closed, so it has a separate front-facing camera above that screen. Samsung’s no-cutout wording applies to the main screen when the phone is unfolded. A case, screen protector or software setting cannot remove that physical cover-screen camera opening.

How to choose among Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6
- Start with the display requirement. If a visible hole on the unfolded screen is unacceptable, limit the shortlist to Fold3, Fold4, Fold5 and Fold6 based on Samsung’s explicit documentation.
- Set an age boundary. Prefer Fold6 for the newest qualifying hardware; consider Fold5 when its discount is substantial; treat Fold4 and Fold3 as used-device purchases requiring stronger inspection.
- Decide how much selfie quality matters. The available review evidence favors Fold7’s visible 10 MP camera over Fold6’s hidden 4 MP camera for selfie appearance, so do not choose an under-display model expecting the best front-camera results.
- Compare the complete price. Include warranty, return shipping, refurbished grading, battery condition and likely repair exposure rather than comparing the sticker price alone.
- Confirm the exact region. Model names, storage options, update timing, carrier compatibility and stock vary by country.
- Inspect immediately after delivery. Test the hinge, both screens, cameras, charging and connectivity while the return window is open.
Common buying mistakes
Confusing a cover-screen punch hole with the inner camera
Product pages often show the phone closed, where the cover camera is visible. Look specifically at a photograph or video of the device opened flat.
Assuming a newer model must preserve the older design
Fold7 demonstrates why model numbers are not enough: Samsung changed from an under-display inner camera to a visible punch hole. Read the camera description for the exact generation.
Treating “10 MP selfie camera” as proof of a hidden camera
Resolution says nothing about whether a lens is beneath the display. The Magic V5’s twin 10 MP specification is useful hardware information, but the cited material does not identify the inner-camera layout.
Buying the oldest Fold solely because it is cheapest
A lower price does not account for battery degradation, hinge wear, display damage or shorter support life. Require a return option and test the device before committing.

Under-display placement prioritizes an uninterrupted image area. The cited Fold7 review reports better-looking selfies from its visible camera than from the Fold6; that is the relevant trade-off for this decision.
Bottom line for different priorities
| Your priority | Best fit | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Newest documented no-cutout inner display | Galaxy Z Fold6 | It is the latest model in Samsung’s explicitly documented Fold3–Fold6 under-display group. |
| Lower price without leaving the documented group | Galaxy Z Fold5 | Previous-generation pricing can reduce the cost while retaining the same inner-camera approach. |
| Cheapest qualifying used option | Galaxy Z Fold4 or Fold3 | Both meet the camera-placement criterion, but condition and remaining support become decisive. |
| Better-looking inner-screen selfies | Galaxy Z Fold7 | Its 10 MP camera is visible, and Tom’s Guide reports better-looking selfies than Fold6. |
| Non-Samsung alternative | HONOR Magic V5 or Pixel 10 Pro Fold, only after verification | The cited material does not prove either phone avoids an inner-screen cutout. |
For the exact requirement stated in this guide—no visible selfie-camera hole on the large unfolded display—the Galaxy Z Fold6 is the straightforward recommendation, with Fold5 as the sensible lower-cost alternative. Fold4 and Fold3 qualify technically but demand a much more careful used-phone inspection. Fold7 is a deliberate design change, not a successor that preserves the no-cutout feature, and the HONOR and Google alternatives remain unverified for this specific criterion in the cited specifications.
