For a prerecorded bhajan video you plan to upload to YouTube, export an MP4 file with H.264 video and AAC-LC audio. Keep the video progressive, preserve its original frame rate, and enable Fast Start so the MP4 index is at the beginning of the file. If by “24/7 playlist” you mean a continuous live event rather than a playlist of uploaded videos, use YouTube’s separate live-encoder settings instead: an uploaded MP4 is not a livestream protocol.
First choose: uploaded playlist or continuous livestream?
These are different ways to present bhajans, and they use different technical settings:

- Uploaded playlist: Upload one long prerecorded video or several videos, then arrange them in a YouTube playlist. Use YouTube’s recommended upload encoding settings below.
- 24/7 live event: Send a continuous feed from an encoder over RTMP or RTMPS. Use YouTube Live’s ingestion settings, including its live bitrate guidance. A playlist of uploads does not by itself create a live event.
A playlist of uploads is simpler to prepare, while a live event provides the live-stream viewing experience. For a live setup, confirm that your encoder can loop the material and recover or restart as needed; YouTube’s general encoder guidance does not certify any particular looping setup.

- Container: MP4.
- Video codec: H.264, High Profile.
- Scan and color: Progressive scan and BT.709 for SDR.
- Frame rate: Use the frame rate at which the source was recorded. YouTube lists common rates including 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, and 60 fps.
- H.264 structure: 4:2:0 chroma subsampling, closed GOP, CABAC, and two consecutive B frames.
- Audio: AAC-LC is a conventional choice for stereo; YouTube also lists Opus and Eclipsa Audio. Use a 48 kHz sample rate.
- MP4 layout: Avoid edit lists and place the moov atom at the start of the file, a layout commonly called Fast Start.
Upload bitrate examples
These are YouTube’s recommended SDR upload video bitrates, not settings for a live encoder. Choose the row matching both your resolution and frame-rate class.
| Resolution and frame rate | Recommended video bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p, 24/25/30 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p, 48/50/60 fps | 12 Mbps |
| 720p, 24/25/30 fps | 5 Mbps |
| 720p, 48/50/60 fps | 7.5 Mbps |
For audio, YouTube’s upload recommendations list 384 kbps for stereo, 128 kbps for mono, and 512 kbps for 5.1. For an ordinary stereo bhajan video, use the stereo recommendation rather than mistaking the video bitrate for an audio setting. See YouTube’s upload encoding guidance for other resolutions, frame rates, and formats.

Settings for a continuous YouTube livestream
If you want the channel to show an ongoing live event, send an encoder feed rather than uploading an MP4 and treating it as the stream. YouTube’s live guidance lists RTMP/RTMPS and supports H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 video with AAC or MP3 audio. It calls for CBR bitrate encoding and recommends a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS, the secure extension of RTMP. Live bitrate examples for H.264
For H.264 live ingestion, YouTube’s current guidance accessed in 2026 recommends 5 Mbps for 1080p30 and 3 Mbps for 720p30. Live rates vary with codec, resolution, and frame rate, so use the matching row in YouTube’s live table rather than copying an upload bitrate.

YouTube transcodes a live feed into output formats for viewers. Its live settings page says: “YouTube will automatically transcode your live stream to create many different output formats so that all of your viewers across many devices and networks can watch.”
Prepare and check the video before uploading
- Choose the workflow: Decide whether you need an ordinary playlist of uploaded videos or a live event. Apply upload settings to the former and live-ingestion settings to the latter.
- Export the source: For an upload, choose MP4, H.264 video, AAC-LC stereo audio at 48 kHz, progressive scan, and BT.709 if the material is SDR. Retain the source frame rate.
- Set encoding details: Use the upload bitrate row that matches the file’s resolution and frame rate. Configure Fast Start and avoid MP4 edit lists if your export software exposes those options.
- Review the rendered file: Check that the picture and audio play correctly from beginning to end, and that the export did not introduce clipping, silence, black frames, or an unintended frame-rate change.
- Upload and organize: Upload the finished videos to YouTube and arrange them in a playlist if you want viewers to play the recordings in sequence. A playlist remains a set of uploaded videos, not a continuous live event.
Copyright and channel-policy checks for bhajan content
Use recordings, performances, images, and other material you have the rights or permissions to use. A devotional song may have traditional roots while a particular recording, arrangement, performance, or accompanying image is separately protected. A claim or restriction can affect an upload or a live event; the MP4 format does not grant rights or make material copyright-safe.

- Closed Loop Liquid Cooling with 240mm Radiator
- 2x USB 3.0, 1x Headphone, 1x Mic

Also make the channel’s presentation and content meaningfully your own. A playlist assembled from material you are not entitled to use can create copyright problems, and simply looping existing material does not guarantee compliance with YouTube’s monetization policies. Review YouTube’s current rules for copyright and reused content before relying on a 24/7 format.
Keep a live feed stable and know its limits
A correctly encoded feed still depends on the encoder and its internet connection. YouTube advises leaving upload-bandwidth headroom; its streaming tips recommend 20%. It also recommends testing the setup, checking that a local archive file is growing if you are recording one, and monitoring audio and video quality. Live encoder guidance and YouTube streaming tips

Those safeguards do not establish that a particular computer, encoder, or third-party loop will run uninterrupted. Test the exact configuration you intend to use, including how it behaves after a dropped connection or encoder restart.
Common format and livestream problems
- The uploaded file is rejected or processes unexpectedly: Confirm it is a valid MP4 export with a supported video and audio codec, and render it again if the file is damaged.
- Audio is silent or out of sync: Check the export’s audio track, sample rate, and the rendered file itself before uploading; do not assume a successful video export guarantees usable audio.
- The picture looks poor after upload: Check that the upload bitrate matches the resolution and frame-rate row, that the source frame rate was preserved, and that the original recording is sufficiently clear. YouTube processes uploads, so the recommended bitrate is not a promise of a particular viewer-side result.
- A live encoder is rejected or unstable: Verify that the selected protocol, codec, audio codec, CBR mode, keyframe interval, and bitrate match YouTube’s live guidance and the chosen table row.
- The live stream drops: Check available upload bandwidth and leave headroom; inspect the connection and encoder, then test whether your specific setup resumes or requires a restart.
- A live event is interrupted by a rights issue: Review the underlying recording and associated visuals for permissions, and address any YouTube notice rather than assuming a change of file format will resolve it.
