Use the parts of City of the Wolves you enjoy as a checklist when looking up each candidate’s official feature information. The game launched on April 24, 2025, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic Games Store, according to SNK’s official game information.
Combat systems and controls
SNK describes City of the Wolves as featuring REV Arts, REV Accel and REV Blows, limited by a REV Meter that can overheat. It also lists returning systems including Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodge Attacks, Feints and S.P.G. Its Arcade Style uses precise technical inputs; Smart Style uses directional inputs and single-button presses for special moves and combos. These are publisher descriptions, not independent assessments of difficulty or performance. If a particular control scheme or resource mechanic is what you enjoy, verify whether a candidate offers an equivalent before treating it as a close match.

Solo play
City of the Wolves includes Episodes of South Town, a solo RPG mode with fights under different conditions, XP, leveling and skills. SNK says an internet connection and a game update are required. If progression-based solo play matters to you, check each alternative’s official page for the type of single-player content it actually includes.
Online play
SNK describes City of the Wolves as supporting rollback netcode, cross-platform functionality, and Ranked, Casual and Room matches. SNK also describes AI-generated clones based on player behavior. These are publisher-stated features; they are not independent tests of online performance. For another game, confirm its current online modes and platform support from game-specific sources rather than inferring them from its PS5 listing.

Check editions and availability before you buy
Store listings, DLC schedules, prices and physical stock can change. Check the current PS5 product page for the exact edition and included content, especially if a character pass or physical extras affect your decision.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is the reference game, not a substitute recommendation. SNK’s official announcement confirms that a PS5 physical edition was offered. Its launch-era Special Edition included the base game and a Season Pass 1 product code. The launch-era North American and European Deluxe Edition was PS5-only and included the base game, a Season Pass 1 code, SteelBook, two-disc soundtrack, artbook of more than 100 pages, collector’s box and two sticker sheets. SNK announced historical launch prices of $59.99/€59.99 for Special Edition and $79.99/€79.99 for Deluxe Edition; those are not current prices or confirmation of present retailer stock. See SNK’s physical-edition announcement and verify the platform, edition, included content and availability in the listing you plan to buy.

Roster and digital editions
At launch, SNK described a 22-character lineup as 17 roster members plus five Season Pass 1 DLC fighters, and said an internet connection and update were needed to play all characters. The current roster and edition contents may differ: SNK’s product information lists Standard and Legend digital editions and Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2, with future character schedules shown on the page. Check the current SNK product information and the relevant PlayStation Store listing before buying.
