First check whether your monitor needs external speakers
Some LG 34-inch monitors have built-in speakers. LG lists 7 W × 2 speakers for the 34WN650 and 34WN750. Those examples do not establish that every LG 34-inch monitor has speakers.

Built-in speakers and a headphone output are separate features. A monitor can have speakers without that alone confirming it has the output needed to connect external analog speakers. Find the full model number on the monitor or its packaging, then check the specifications and manual for both built-in audio and a 3.5 mm Headphone Out/AUX port.
What type of external speaker is the likely match?
If your monitor has a 3.5 mm Headphone Out/AUX port, look for powered desktop speakers with a matching 3.5 mm analog input. “Powered” means the speakers have their own power source; the monitor’s headphone output is the audio connection, not a substitute for checking how the speakers are powered. Confirm the speaker’s input, power method and included cables in its own specifications before purchase.

How the documented 3.5 mm connection works
LG’s support guidance describes audio traveling with digital video from an AV source to the monitor over HDMI, followed by a connection from the monitor’s Headphone Out to an external speaker. The setup applies only to models with that port; LG advises checking the product manual because ports and behavior vary by model. - Identify the exact monitor model. Check the label on the monitor and locate its manual.
- Confirm the output. Look for Headphone Out or AUX, typically a 3.5 mm port, in the manual and on the monitor itself.
- Match the speaker input. Choose powered speakers whose specifications list a compatible 3.5 mm analog input, and verify the required cable.
- Connect and select the audio source. Connect the source device to the monitor as described in the manual, then connect the monitor’s Headphone Out to the speakers. Check the computer and external-device audio settings if sound does not play; LG notes that those settings can affect operation.
If your LG monitor has no headphone output
Do not assume that another connection route works for every LG 34-inch model. Consult the monitor manual and check the computer’s available audio outputs for an alternative. The documented LG guidance establishes the conditional 3.5 mm route, not a universal workaround for models without that port.
