The Donyell Malen Serie A Player of the Month SBC is a score-target challenge, not a conventional squad-building test: trackers list a 90,000-point target and a 45 minimum item rating. Use eligible untradeable duplicates first, then compare the score gained against current market cost before buying items. Confirm the requirements and expiry timer in-game, because prices and tracker details can change.
What the Malen POTM SBC requires
FUT.GG and FUT Mind each list one challenge with a 90,000 score target and a minimum item rating of 45. FUT Mind says positions and chemistry do not matter. These are tracker-reported details rather than a challenge-specific EA listing, so check the live SBC screen before submitting items. EA’s Streamlined SBC explanation describes the broader system: eligible club items contribute toward a target score, progress can be submitted over multiple attempts, and duplicate versions may count. FUT.GG SBC listing and FUT Mind’s SBC listing report the Malen challenge details.

How to complete it without overspending
- Check your club first. Review eligible untradeable items and duplicates. Keep in mind that submitting an item may make it unavailable for other squads or challenges.
- Plan toward the target. Use the in-game score display, or a current SBC calculator, to estimate how your available items contribute toward 90,000. The score system weighs rating and rarity; do not assume that item count alone determines value.
- Compare cost with score. Before buying tradeable items, compare their current price with their contribution to the target. Market prices shift, so a published combination is not a guaranteed cheapest route for your club.
- Submit in stages if useful. EA says Streamlined SBC progress can be submitted over multiple attempts. Recheck the remaining score after each submission and avoid adding items you do not need.
- Verify before the final submission. Confirm the displayed target, minimum rating and live expiry timer in-game. A final check helps avoid submitting an ineligible item or missing the cutoff.
What published solutions and prices indicate
FUT.GG showed an estimated cost of 88,620 coins when consulted for this guide. An Italian guide reported an overall range of roughly 84,000–90,000 coins and several example mixes; its figures are snapshots, not tested recipes or fixed prices. They illustrate why your own club and the market at the time of completion matter more than copying a single list. FUT.GG’s listing and FUT Mind provide tracker context; the Italian guide’s reported combinations and estimates are available at its SBC guide.
| Reported item mix | Reported estimate | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| 46 items rated 84, 13 rated 85 and 6 rated 86 | About 83,900 coins | A reported example; prices and your available items will differ. |
| 1 item rated 87, 14 rated 86, 11 rated 85 and 5 rated 84 | About 87,750 coins | A more compact reported mix, not a guaranteed cheapest solution. |
| 6 items rated 87 and 14 rated 86 | Near 92,000 coins | Another reported route; compare its current cost with alternatives. |
The listed combinations and estimates come from the Italian guide and should be treated as changing market examples, not independently tested completion instructions. See the guide’s SBC examples.

FCData lists the reward as an 85-rated Donyell Malen item with 87 pace, 85 shooting, 75 passing, 86 dribbling, 39 defending and 70 physical. Those attributes are tracker-listed rather than verified against an official EA card page. FCData’s Malen listing.
Why Malen received the award
Lega Serie A says the award covered matchdays 1–5 of the 2026/27 season and that fan voting was combined with individual statistical data. Malen scored six goals in five matches. League CEO Luigi De Siervo said, “In this early stage of the season, Donyell Malen has confirmed the extraordinary form he has shown since arriving in Serie A last January”.
