If you want a TV whose own speakers can deliver convincing Dolby Atmos sound, the Panasonic Z95B is the clearest premium candidate in the available reviewer evidence. TechRadar reports a 5.1.2-channel, 160 W built-in system and describes its sound as punchy, immersive, and detailed. Atmos support alone, however, does not tell you how good a TV sounds; compare the speaker implementation and your room, and add an Atmos soundbar or speaker system if you want a larger sound field.
What Dolby Atmos on a TV does—and does not—tell you
Dolby describes Atmos as a format that positions sound in three-dimensional space. It can play through built-in TV speakers, soundbars, wireless speakers, headphones, or a larger home-theater system. The Atmos label indicates format compatibility, not a particular level of loudness, clarity, bass, or immersion.

For that reason, assess a TV’s actual speaker layout and reviewer listening impressions rather than treating the badge as a sound-quality rating. The Panasonic Z95B is a useful example: its reported 5.1.2-channel, 160 W configuration is more informative than Atmos support by itself.

Panasonic Z95B: premium sound without an immediate soundbar purchase
TechRadar’s 65-inch TV guide, updated October 2026, reports that the Panasonic Z95B has a 5.1.2-channel, 160 W Dolby Atmos speaker system. TechRadar’s reviewer describes the sound as punchy, immersive, and detailed, and says some listeners may find a separate soundbar unnecessary. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a guarantee that it will suit every room or listener. Availability and pricing vary by market.

- Simplified 5.1ch Dolby Atmos Setup: Enjoy immersive 4D sound with real Dolby Atmos and 5.1-channel audio. Five built-in speakers, including two side-firing drivers, create wide surround without rear speakers. Precision DSP ensures <0.5 ms latency for smooth, theater-like sound. Setup takes less than 1 minute.
- Voice Clarity Enhancement: VoiceMX technology uses advanced DSP algorithms to isolate and enhance vocal frequencies in real time. Dialogue remains crisp and easy to follow by separating speech from background effects and music, even at low volumes or during intense scenes.
- 300W Output with 6-Driver System: Featuring five precision-tuned full-range drivers and a dedicated wired wooden subwoofer, the system delivers up to 300W of peak power for bold, room-filling sound. With a frequency response of 45 Hz–18 kHz and a maximum SPL of 99 dB, it reproduces everything from subtle nuances to explosive cinematic effects.
- 18 mm High-Excursion Driver: Powered by BassMX technology, the wired wooden subwoofer features a 18 mm high-excursion driver, a 5.3L tuned cabinet, and a high-density magnetic circuit. This design delivers deeper, tighter bass with greater air displacement and enhanced low-frequency performance—bringing more realism to every scene.
- HDMI eARC for True Dolby Atmos: HDMI eARC supports up to 37 Mbps of bandwidth, unlocking the full potential of lossless Dolby Atmos 5.1-channel audio. Compared to standard ARC, eARC delivers richer surround effects and greater detail. CEC integration allows the TV and soundbar to work together with unified control.
The evidence supports the Z95B as a well-described built-in-audio option, not as a complete ranking against every TV model or regional lineup. Confirm that the exact model sold in your region has the features you want.
Do you need a soundbar for Dolby Atmos?
No. Dolby says many TVs support Atmos through their built-in speakers. An external Atmos soundbar is optional, but it can provide a more room-filling presentation if the TV’s speakers are not enough for your space or preferences. Dolby’s guidance is to use Atmos content and a compatible signal path; connection may use HDMI ARC/eARC or passthrough, as supported by the TV and sound system. Use compatible HDMI cabling and check both devices’ specifications.

- Room light: Dolby notes that LED TVs can often be brighter for sunny rooms, while OLED offers exceptional contrast. Consider ambient light and screen reflections alongside audio.
- Screen size and seating: Choose a size that suits your viewing distance and room rather than assuming a larger screen is always better.
- Sound system connections: Check HDMI ARC/eARC support and the exact audio formats and passthrough options listed for your TV and external system.
- Regional model differences: Features can vary by model and market, so verify the full model number and local specifications before buying.
Can an LG TV act as the hub for an Atmos speaker setup?
LG Electronics USA announced on February 4, 2026, that a software update enabled Dolby Atmos FlexConnect on selected 2025 OLED G5, C5, and CS5 televisions. Those supported sets can connect directly to LG Sound Suite M5 or M7 wireless speakers and a W7 subwoofer, with the TV serving as the hub. LG says the arrangement supports up to 22 configurations. That is a count of possible product configurations, not an independent measure of audio performance. Support is limited to the named models and ecosystem; confirm availability and software status in your market.
