For most Galaxy Ultra owners, a good starting point is Adaptive motion smoothness for fluid scrolling, the highest screen resolution available when detail matters, and whichever of Vivid or Natural looks better to you. Use Adaptive brightness for automatic adjustment, and treat Eye comfort shield and Dark mode as optional preferences. The exact choices and menu labels vary by model, software version, carrier, and region, so use the options shown on your phone rather than assuming every Ultra has the same display controls.
Where to find Galaxy Ultra display settings
On Samsung’s Galaxy S26 interface, the main controls are under Settings > Display. Screen resolution and screen mode are in that section; refresh behavior is under Settings > Display > Motion smoothness. Samsung’s current US guidance is a useful example, not a guarantee that every Galaxy Ultra generation has identical paths or features. Choose motion smoothness for your priority
Open Settings > Display > Motion smoothness and choose between the options available on your phone. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 example describes Adaptive as the smoother-motion option and Standard as the battery-efficiency option. Adaptive allows up to 120 Hz in Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy S26 example; this figure should not be assumed for every Ultra model.

Set screen resolution according to detail needs
Go to Settings > Display > Screen resolution if your phone offers that control. Pick the highest listed resolution when fine detail is your priority; a lower listed option is worth considering when you would rather prioritize battery use. Samsung’s troubleshooting examples include HD+, FHD+, and QHD+, but supported choices depend on the device. Do not assume that QHD+ or any particular resolution is available on every Galaxy Ultra.

Compare Vivid and Natural color modes
Under Settings > Display > Screen mode, Samsung lists Vivid and Natural in its guidance. Neither is a universal best: compare both on familiar photos, video, and everyday content, then keep the presentation you prefer. Vivid may offer a color-temperature adjustment and, on supported devices, Advanced settings for manual changes.
If a color adjustment is unavailable, check whether Eye comfort or another blue-light filter, an accessibility color filter, or Adaptive color tone is enabled. Samsung notes that these can affect which screen adjustments are offered. Samsung’s screen-color guidance describes the available mode controls and variation by model, software, and carrier.

Choose automatic or manual brightness
Adjust brightness from the Display settings or the quick panel. Adaptive brightness responds to ambient light; Samsung Canada also says it learns from the user’s adjustments over time. Leave it enabled if you want the screen to adapt automatically, or use manual brightness if you prefer direct control. No single brightness level suits every room or person. Use Eye comfort shield and Dark mode as preferences
Eye comfort shield warms the screen’s colors and can be scheduled on supported devices; Dark mode changes the interface’s appearance. These are optional personalization choices, particularly if you prefer a warmer look or a darker interface in dim surroundings. Eye comfort shield changes color appearance, so turn it off when checking whether an unexpected yellow cast is coming from a display setting. Samsung lists both controls among Galaxy display options, with device-specific availability in its display troubleshooting guide.
