For a prerecorded kids’ story channel that needs to run continuously on YouTube, StreamNeo is the simplest fit if you want cloud looping without leaving a computer on. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube, supports quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Gyre is the closest documented dedicated alternative: YouTube lists it for 24/7 prerecorded streams. AWS offers a more configurable, multi-service architecture for technical teams; Restream is better considered for cloud production or multistreaming, since the available documentation does not establish it as an automated 24/7 prerecorded-video playout service.
Which service fits a 24/7 kids’ story channel?
Choose based on how you want to operate, not just on whether a service can send video to YouTube. The key distinction is between a service designed to loop prerecorded files unattended and a configurable streaming infrastructure or studio that may need additional setup.

| Rank | Service | Best fit | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | StreamNeo | Creators who want uploaded videos looped from the cloud to YouTube without keeping a home computer running. | One flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps; first day is free with no card. It is for YouTube and uploaded videos, not camera streaming. |
| 2 | Gyre | Creators seeking a documented cloud service for looping prerecorded videos into a 24/7 YouTube live stream. | Paid plans differ by simultaneous streams, storage, and resolution; check that the tier covers your channel and content library. |
| 3 | AWS Elemental MediaLive with MediaPackage and CloudFront | Technical teams building a tailored broadcast workflow with configurable encoding, packaging, and delivery. | Multiple services, configuration work, and audience-dependent delivery costs make it a more involved choice than a turnkey playout service. |
| 4 | Restream | Creators who need a cloud studio or multistreaming as part of live production. | YouTube lists Restream as a verified encoder, but the reviewed documentation does not establish automated 24/7 prerecorded-video playout. |
For any option, confirm that it supports automatic looping, the number of concurrent channels you need, enough storage for your story library, your required resolution and frame rate, and a clear restart or recovery path. Also check the service’s current features and terms before subscribing; plans and capabilities can change.

2. Gyre: a documented dedicated option for prerecorded loops
YouTube’s encoder help page identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos on YouTube. Gyre describes looping files from cloud storage and publishes plans that vary by simultaneous-stream allowance, storage, and resolution. That makes it a close match for creators who want cloud playout, but the appropriate tier depends on the size and quality of the library and how many channels must run at once.

3. AWS: flexible architecture for teams that can operate it
AWS documents a continuous live-channel design in which MediaLive encodes the source, MediaPackage or MediaStore can prepare or originate content, and CloudFront can distribute it to viewers. The documented solution supports HLS, DASH, and CMAF outputs. AWS’s solution overview and deployment planning guide target infrastructure practitioners. This is useful when you need to design a custom workflow, but it is not a one-step prerecorded-video-to-YouTube service: confirm how your chosen design will originate the feed into YouTube, and plan for configuration, monitoring, and cost management.
AWS’s deployment guide gives illustrative one-hour event estimates, not a forecast for a 24/7 kids’ channel:

- $69.74 for a one-hour 540p event to approximately 1,000 viewers, under the guide’s assumptions. The estimate allocates about $2.50 to encoding and packaging and $67.24 to distribution in US East (N. Virginia).
- $1,505.60 for a one-hour 1080p event to approximately 10,000 viewers, under a separate set of guide assumptions.
Those event estimates are sensitive to factors including viewer count, bitrate, cache-hit ratio, region, and service configuration. They should not be multiplied into a presumed monthly channel cost without modeling the actual workflow and audience. AWS’s MediaLive pricing page describes on-demand charges for inputs, outputs, and add-ons, with resource duration rounded to the nearest minute after a 10-minute minimum. It also describes reserved pricing with a 12-month commitment and savings of up to 75% compared with on-demand rates. Verify current rates and terms directly with AWS before budgeting.
4. Restream: consider it for production, not proven automated playout
YouTube lists Restream among verified encoders, and Restream is positioned as a cloud multistream studio. That is relevant if a creator needs production or distribution features, but the reviewed documentation does not establish that it will automatically loop a prerecorded story library as an unattended 24/7 YouTube channel. Confirm the exact playout behavior you need before treating it as a substitute for a dedicated looping service.
Prepare the channel and story library before going live
Enable and configure YouTube Live
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain how to create or select a stream and provide the encoder with the YouTube server URL and stream key. First-time live streaming may take up to 24 hours to enable, so do this before your planned launch rather than during setup.

- In YouTube Studio, enable live streaming and allow time for first-time activation, which YouTube says can take up to 24 hours.
- Create or select the live stream in YouTube Studio and copy its server URL and stream key.
- Paste those values into the streaming service’s YouTube connection settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, and replace it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Start with a short private or unlisted test if appropriate for your channel. Check that video and audio are playing as intended before scheduling or announcing a public broadcast.
Check rights, audience settings, and presentation
Use stories, narration, music, artwork, and other material you created or are authorized to use for public livestreaming. Permission to read a book privately, or to use a song in a different context, does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it. Review YouTube’s current copyright and livestream rules before launch.
Because this is a children’s channel, set the audience designation and review the current YouTube rules for made-for-kids livestreams, live chat, advertising, and age-related restrictions in YouTube Studio and official policy guidance. Requirements can depend on the content and current platform rules; do not assume a setting or feature is available without checking the channel’s actual controls.

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. A continuous broadcast longer than 12 hours should not be presented as one automatically archived replay. If you need replayable story sessions, design a schedule that accounts for that limit and verify YouTube’s current guidance before relying on an archive. A looping service keeps the broadcast going, but it does not replace a plan for replay access, content order, or rights records.

Choose the service by operating needs
- Want the fewest moving parts: choose a cloud looping service, then compare storage, stream count, resolution, recovery behavior, and recurring cost against your needs.
- Need several simultaneous channels: verify the plan’s concurrent-stream limit and whether storage is shared or assigned per stream.
- Need custom encoding and delivery architecture: consider AWS only if your team can design and operate the multi-service workflow and model audience-dependent charges.
- Need a cloud production studio or multistreaming: evaluate Restream for those functions, while separately confirming prerecorded-loop capability if that is essential.
Common problems and practical fixes
YouTube does not accept the stream key
Check that live streaming is enabled, the activation period has passed, and the service has the current server URL and stream key from the correct YouTube stream. If the key was exposed, generate a replacement in YouTube Studio and update the service.
The stream stops or the live page is not receiving video
Check the service’s connection status, the selected YouTube stream, and whether YouTube shows an active incoming signal. For a cloud service, use its status or recovery controls and confirm the stream is configured to restart after an interruption; recovery behavior differs by product.
A story or song triggers a copyright claim or restriction
Pause the affected material and review the notice in YouTube Studio. Confirm that your permission covers livestreaming and the specific recording, music, illustrations, or performance used. Replace or remove material you cannot substantiate rights to use; a playlist loop can repeat a rights problem as easily as it repeats a story.
The archive is missing or incomplete
Check the stream’s duration against YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic archiving guidance and verify the current archive behavior in YouTube Studio. For a continuous broadcast, do not assume one long stream will produce a complete replay.
Costs are higher than expected
For AWS, inspect region, viewer delivery, bitrate, cache behavior, runtime, and each service in the workflow; event examples are not a 24/7 quote. For subscription services, check whether you need a higher tier for simultaneous streams, storage, or resolution rather than paying for unused capacity.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your stories, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded videos stream at their original quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot; and automatic recovery helps the stream resume if YouTube drops it. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube from uploaded videos, not from a camera. Start your StreamNeo free day.
