For the simplest way to keep prerecorded meditation music live on YouTube, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and let it loop in the cloud. For a self-managed setup, a cloud virtual machine (VM) running an encoder is the most direct starting point; AWS EC2, Google Compute Engine, and Azure Linux Virtual Machines can all host that kind of workflow. There is no evidence-based universal winner among those VM providers: the right choice depends on region, configuration, operating experience, recovery design, and the full bill.
Managed video services such as AWS Media Services or Google Cloud Live Stream API are alternatives when you need their encoding, packaging, or delivery capabilities—not automatic upgrades for a single encoder feed to YouTube.
Which cloud option fits an always-on meditation stream?
Start by choosing between a service that runs the stream for you and cloud infrastructure that you operate. A VM can host an encoder such as OBS and push its output to YouTube. Managed media products handle parts of a broader video-processing workflow, which can be useful when you need those functions but adds services and configuration to manage.
| Option | What it does | When to consider it | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Loops uploaded videos or a playlist from the cloud to YouTube. | You want a hosted, always-on prerecorded-video stream without keeping a computer running. | YouTube only; it plays uploaded videos and does not broadcast from a camera. Every slot includes one stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and team support. |
| AWS EC2 VM | Runs an encoder that sends a feed to YouTube. | You want control over a self-managed encoder and are comfortable operating a VM. | Compute is only one possible bill component; include storage, IP and data transfer where charged. |
| Google Compute Engine VM | Runs an encoder that sends a feed to YouTube. | You want a self-managed VM and can select and price a suitable machine type and region. | Published VM pricing varies by machine type and region; a small example VM price does not establish the right encoder configuration. |
| Azure Linux VM | Runs an encoder that sends a feed to YouTube. | You want a self-managed Linux VM and can estimate the full regional configuration. | Azure notes that standard egress charges apply; validate disk, IP, and transfer costs as well. |
| AWS Media Services with CloudFront | A broader managed workflow can encode, package, and deliver live video. | You need managed encoding, packaging, or distribution functions beyond sending one encoder feed to YouTube. | It involves multiple service components and may be unnecessary for a single YouTube feed. |
| Google Cloud Live Stream API | Transcodes live linear video into delivery formats. | You need managed live-video transcoding and can design around its channel lifecycle. | Google documents that an active channel may be restarted after 24 hours in a state other than STOPPED or STOPPING. |
StreamNeo is the first option for a hosted 24/7 YouTube stream: it runs uploaded video from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free. If you prefer to operate the encoder yourself, compare the three VM providers on the same workload and regional assumptions rather than treating a provider name as a reliability or price verdict.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How to compare the self-managed cloud VMs
For a continuous meditation stream, compare the operating burden and estimated total cost—not just the advertised VM rate. None of the available evidence establishes a product-specific uptime guarantee or workload benchmark that justifies ranking AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure as the most reliable encoder host.
- Pick the architecture first. A VM running an encoder is the direct route for one outgoing YouTube feed. Consider managed media services only if you need their processing or delivery capabilities.
- Choose a region and workload. Decide the operating system, encoder, video resolution, bitrate, storage needs, and whether you need redundancy. These choices determine which VM configuration is appropriate.
- Estimate the whole bill. Account for VM runtime, storage, public IP charges where applicable, data transfer, monitoring, and any managed-media components. AWS bills on-demand instance use by time consumed; Google VM rates vary by machine type and region; Azure notes standard egress charges.
- Price like for like. Use each provider’s current pricing tools for the same region, operating assumptions, and continuous runtime. A compute-only quote is not a full monthly cost, and no one monthly total can be stated without a specified configuration.
- Assess who will operate it. A self-managed VM means configuring the encoder and stream credentials, monitoring the process, and planning what happens after a host, network, or encoder interruption.
Rates, service details, and availability can change. Verify the current configuration in AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure pricing tools before committing.

Plan continuity and recovery before going live
A cloud VM is not, by itself, a guarantee that a broadcast will never stop. For a self-managed encoder, decide how you will detect a stopped process, restart it, and confirm that YouTube is receiving the stream again. Also consider host or network interruption and how quickly someone can respond. These are design requirements for an always-on goal, not a claim that any provider has been tested here.
If you choose Google Cloud Live Stream API, build its documented lifecycle into the plan: Google says a channel may be restarted after 24 hours in a state other than STOPPED or STOPPING. Do not treat that managed API as an uninterrupted perpetual channel without handling the restart condition.

Meet YouTube’s live-stream and ingestion requirements
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction during the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. That is an eligibility requirement, not a guarantee that a particular broadcast will be approved. YouTube identifies encoder streaming as useful for streams that use overlays, graphics, or production equipment.
Your chosen cloud setup still needs an encoder configuration and YouTube stream credentials. RTMP is a common YouTube ingestion path. HLS is another option for compatible encoders, but it uses HTTPS ingestion and requires a rolling playlist and specific segment settings. Because HLS sends segments rather than a continuous stream, YouTube notes that it has higher latency than RTMP. A meditation music stream does not need HLS unless the workflow calls for it.

Clear music rights before scheduling a long stream
Hosting the encoder in the cloud does not grant permission to broadcast the music. YouTube’s livestream terms say creators represent and warrant that they have the necessary rights to exploit live content on Google services worldwide, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. If it detects third-party content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it if the material remains or a copyright or Community Guidelines strike applies. YouTube advises creators using licensed third-party content to ask the owner to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption.

Costs and practical trade-offs
For a self-managed VM, the total cost depends on the selected region and machine, continuous runtime, storage, public IP charges where applicable, transfer, monitoring, and any managed services. Compare a full estimate for your intended setup using the providers’ current calculators; the available information does not establish a cheapest provider or a dependable monthly total for an unspecified workload.
