For a small channel that wants its original stories to run as a continuous YouTube live feed, StreamNeo is the simplest fit to try first: upload your videos, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It runs in the cloud, supports uploaded video up to 4K at 60 fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Among the other services compared here, Castr has the clearest documented scheduled-playout workflow; Gyre focuses on continuous prerecorded streams; TVU Channel is aimed at broader broadcast workflows; and AWS Elemental MediaLive is an encoding component for teams prepared to assemble and operate a more technical setup.
What “cloud playout” means for a storytelling channel
Cloud playout schedules and sends a continuing or scheduled video feed from a service provider’s infrastructure, rather than relying on a computer at home to play and encode the lineup. That differs from an ordinary YouTube upload, which viewers watch on demand, and from a live encoder such as AWS Elemental MediaLive, which handles encoding but may need other components to create a complete scheduled channel.

For an original children’s storytelling channel, the practical questions are whether the service can arrange your own finished stories into a schedule or loop, send the feed to YouTube, and fit your operating capacity and budget. A 24/7 feed is a publishing format, not a demonstrated audience-growth strategy: the reviewed sources do not establish that continuous streaming increases views, watch time, or revenue.

| 5. AWS Elemental MediaLive | Managed cloud live encoding with multiple inputs and scheduled or dynamic input switching. | YouTube lists MediaLive as a verified encoder. MediaLive is not, by itself, established here as a turnkey creator scheduling service. | A technically capable team assembling a custom cloud workflow and estimating usage-based costs. |
These are not interchangeable price units or complete equivalents: a playout subscription, an encoder, storage, distribution, and viewer delivery may cover different parts of a workflow. Compare what you need for resolution, streaming hours, outputs, storage, and failover before choosing.

Castr: scheduled playout with tier limits to check
Castr’s TV playout product says it can schedule uploaded videos, recordings, and live streams into one continuous channel. It describes schedule and loop modes, live-stream insertion, and schedule changes during a run. Castr says playout can be sent to YouTube as well as other destinations. Its TV playout page says every plan includes one playout channel, while file, loop, and output limits vary by tier; verify the current plan’s constraints before building a lineup around them.

At the time its pricing page was accessed on October 3, 2026, Castr listed Starter at $19.99 monthly, or $16.67 per month billed annually ($199.99 billed yearly). The page listed two concurrent streams on monthly billing or three on annual billing, six destinations, 200 GB monthly bandwidth or a 2.4 TB upfront annual pool, and 100 GB hosted-video storage. Castr positioned Starter for a small team running one or two live channels. These vendor-published figures and plan terms can change; confirm them on the Castr pricing page and check that the meanings of streams, destinations, bandwidth, storage, and playout limits match your intended use.
Gyre: a focused option for prerecorded live streams
YouTube’s encoder guidance lists Gyre for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded video. Gyre describes playlist looping, scheduled broadcasts, and cloud operation without a dedicated PC. Its statements about improved views or viewing time are vendor claims, not established outcomes for a particular storytelling channel.
The reviewed page does not establish current plan pricing. Before choosing, confirm the plan’s resolution, concurrent-stream limit, restart behavior, and what happens to stream archives. YouTube’s listing supports category fit, not a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, growth, monetization, or endorsement of every workflow.

TVU Channel: broader broadcast-oriented playout
TVU describes TVU Channel as cloud-native scheduling and playout for channels, with live programming and distribution to broadcast, OTT, apps, and social destinations. That points to a broader broadcast workflow than a small creator may need. The reviewed page does not establish public pricing, small-channel eligibility, or a YouTube-specific destination workflow, so ask the vendor to confirm those points before treating it as a viable YouTube option.
AWS Elemental MediaLive: flexible encoding, not a turnkey channel
AWS describes MediaLive as a managed cloud service for live video encoding and high-availability workflows. It supports multiple inputs and scheduled or dynamic input switching, and YouTube includes it among verified encoders. Those facts make it a possible building block for a custom system; they do not establish that MediaLive alone supplies a creator-ready video schedule, storage, and complete playout workflow.
Cost depends on the chosen configuration. AWS says to calculate a channel’s total MediaLive cost by adding the cost of each input, output, and add-on feature. A small team should also account for the technical work to assemble, configure, monitor, and recover the broader workflow. This is a different proposition from comparing two fixed creator-service subscriptions.

Check YouTube eligibility and content rights before going live
Enable live streaming on the channel
YouTube requires a verified channel with live streaming enabled and no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time enablement may take up to 24 hours. Check the current YouTube live-stream help before launch, particularly if the channel is new or has had enforcement actions.
Use stories and audio you are entitled to stream
YouTube says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. A cloud service does not grant rights to stories, illustrations, music, sound effects, or performances. Use original material or obtain the relevant permissions and licenses, including for background music and artwork. YouTube may age-restrict or remove a stream, or restrict a creator’s live-streaming ability.

Do not assume a live loop guarantees monetization
None of the reviewed evidence establishes that a 24/7 prerecorded feed will grow an audience or qualify a channel for monetization. Make the channel’s format clear, use material you own or have permission to use, and review YouTube’s current monetization and content policies separately before relying on revenue from a continuous stream.

How to choose without overbuilding
- Decide whether you need a continuous live channel. If viewers mainly need to find and watch individual stories, ordinary YouTube uploads or occasional scheduled streams may be simpler than maintaining a linear feed.
- Write down the lineup and operating needs. Note the number and duration of story videos, desired schedule or loop behavior, stream resolution, and whether you need live inserts, multiple destinations, or additional storage.
- Choose a packaged playout service if simplicity matters most. StreamNeo is the direct option for looping uploaded videos on YouTube. Castr documents a broader scheduled playout workflow; compare the specific tier limits against your schedule.
- Ask vendors to confirm undocumented details. For Gyre, confirm current plan limits and pricing. For TVU, establish YouTube support, small-channel eligibility, and price. For any service, ask how restarts, archives, and limits work for your intended schedule.
- Use a custom AWS workflow only if you can operate it. Estimate inputs, outputs, add-ons, and the other services needed to schedule and deliver the full channel; do not treat encoder cost as the entire system cost.
- Test with a short, rights-cleared stream. Confirm YouTube receives the picture and audio, the correct playlist behavior, and that you can stop or change the schedule before committing a full-time lineup.
Cost and planning notes
StreamNeo billing options
StreamNeo uses one flat price per slot regardless of uploaded quality. Available terms are:
- Daily $0.99 per day
- Weekly $2.99 per week
- Monthly $9.99 per month
- 6 months $49.99 for 6 months
- Yearly $89.99 a year
Compare like with like
Before comparing a flat slot price with another service or a custom cloud build, identify what each quote includes: storage, number of simultaneous streams, destinations, bandwidth or delivery, schedule limits, and recovery. AWS costs depend on configuration; Castr’s listed capacities and prices depend on billing period and plan. Do not infer total operating cost from an encoder price alone.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload your story videos or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your home computer does not have to stay on; uploaded video streams at any quality up to 4K 60 fps for one flat price per slot; and automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.
