For a prerecorded YouTube livestream that should keep running without a computer, StreamNeo is the first service to consider: upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live from the cloud. YouTube’s verified encoder directory also identifies Gyre as a cloud service for scheduled, continuous prerecorded streams. Restream is a better fit when the goal is distributing a live feed to several destinations; AWS Elemental MediaLive is a more technical, broadcast-grade processing option. These products address different workflows, so choose based on whether you need prerecorded playback, multistream distribution, advanced processing, or standalone hardware.
Which cloud platform should you choose?
| Option | Best fit | What is established | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Creators who want uploaded videos or playlists running continuously on YouTube without leaving a computer on. | It runs prerecorded video from the cloud, supports 24/7 looping and playlists, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot. | Review current plan terms and ensure your video rights and YouTube channel are ready before going live. Visit StreamNeo. |
| Gyre | Creators seeking a hosted prerecorded-stream workflow with scheduling. | YouTube’s verified encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded streaming, scheduled broadcasts, and video conversion. YouTube’s encoder directory. | Check Gyre’s current pricing, storage, supported formats, stream duration, and availability directly with the provider; these details are not established by YouTube’s directory. |
| Restream | Creators who need a cloud relay to multiple destinations. | YouTube describes cloud service encoders as sending one high-quality stream to a service that distributes it to selected channels or platforms. YouTube’s multistream guidance. | Confirm whether the specific plan and workflow you’re considering can host and schedule prerecorded video, rather than merely relay an incoming live feed. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | Teams with advanced or custom broadcast-processing requirements. | YouTube lists it as a broadcast-grade live video processing service. The directory does not establish it as a ready-made prerecorded scheduling product. YouTube’s encoder directory. | Determine the architecture, configuration, operating effort, and current commercial terms required for your specific workflow. |
Not a cloud platform: YouTube also identifies AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream as hardware that can schedule prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. Consider it if you prefer a standalone appliance; check current availability and exact feature support with the manufacturer. YouTube’s encoder directory.
How to choose the right workflow
- Prerecorded playback is the priority: Choose a service whose documentation explicitly confirms uploaded-video scheduling or continuous prerecorded streaming. YouTube’s directory gives Gyre that description; StreamNeo is designed for cloud playback of uploaded videos and playlists.
- You need several destinations: Consider a relay such as Restream, but distinguish distribution from hosting. A relay sends a feed it receives; that does not by itself prove it can schedule and play uploaded prerecorded files.
- You need advanced processing: MediaLive is the option in this group described as broadcast-grade. It is not presented in YouTube’s directory as a turnkey prerecorded scheduler.
- You want no computer running: Cloud hosting is one approach. AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream is a separate hardware route for scheduling prerecorded media.
- You are comparing costs or limits: Check each vendor’s current pricing, storage, supported formats, stream-duration limits, and geographic availability. YouTube’s directory does not establish those commercial details for the listed services.
Set up a prerecorded YouTube livestream
A cloud host does not replace YouTube’s event setup. Create or schedule the live event in YouTube Studio, then configure the host or encoder to send the feed to that event using its stream URL and key. YouTube’s setup instructions cover encoder connection and event scheduling: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time livestream enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of the planned broadcast. Review YouTube’s live streaming tips.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, create the livestream and choose its scheduling and visibility settings. Scheduling lets you promote the event in advance; viewers can opt in to notifications. See Manage live stream settings.
- Choose the stream key carefully. Use the stream URL and key associated with the event, and enter them in the cloud service or encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key as a credential: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream. YouTube documents stream-key settings in its live stream settings guide.
- Configure the source. Select the prerecorded video or playlist in the hosting service. If you are using an encoder rather than a hosted playback service, confirm that it can provide the intended prerecorded playback workflow; an encoder’s ability to send a live feed is not the same as a built-in scheduler for uploaded files.
- Check ingestion settings. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingestion. It also documents HLS ingestion for cases such as HDR or codecs not supported by RTMP. Match the protocol and settings to the encoder and content rather than assuming every service supports every option. Refer to YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
- Preview and test before the scheduled start. Follow YouTube’s preparation and preview checks, confirm the correct video and event are connected, and monitor the stream as it starts. Guidance is available in YouTube’s live streaming tips.
Copyright, monetization, and channel readiness
A prerecorded broadcast is still a YouTube livestream: using a cloud host does not grant rights to music, video, or other material in the file. Use content you created or have permission to stream, and check the applicable YouTube rules before scheduling. YouTube’s live settings also include monetization-related options where available; eligibility and settings depend on the channel and event. Review YouTube’s live stream settings and its live streaming preparation guidance.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Do not assume that repeatedly looping a video guarantees monetization or audience growth. YouTube’s encoder documentation describes how to connect a stream, not whether a particular channel or program qualifies for monetization. Check YouTube’s current channel and content policies for your situation.
Common problems and what to check
- The event cannot go live: Check that livestreaming is enabled, the channel is verified, and there are no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first enablement, allow up to 24 hours.
- YouTube shows no incoming feed: Confirm that the service has the correct event’s stream URL and key, and that the event is scheduled or active. Recheck the key in YouTube Studio and the destination configuration in the host.
- The service relays a feed but will not play your file: A multistream relay and a prerecorded-video host are not interchangeable. Verify that the provider explicitly supports uploaded media, scheduling, or looping.
- The feed will not connect with the chosen protocol: Check the protocol supported by both ends. YouTube recommends RTMPS; HLS is documented for cases including HDR or codecs unsupported by RTMP.
- The stream starts late or is not ready for viewers: Schedule the event in advance, run the preview checks, and monitor the stream at launch. YouTube documents advance promotion and notifications for viewers who opt in.
- The video is interrupted by a rights or policy issue: Review the material’s permissions and the channel’s status; changing the cloud platform does not resolve a YouTube restriction.
