There is no established official civilian tier list for Halloween: The Game, and September 2026 guides disagree sharply. For a practical starting point, choose Tanya Harrison for phone and follower support, Marcus Navarro for repairs and objective-focused play, or Laurie Strode when you want a balanced fallback. These are role-based editorial recommendations—not measured win-rate results—and the right pick depends on your squad, map, unlocks, and game patch.
Recommended civilian picks by role
| Pick | Best fit | Why consider them |
|---|---|---|
| Tanya Harrison | Phone and follower support | A September 10, 2026 guide describes her phone-status information and follower-protection trait as a support route. |
| Marcus Navarro | Repairs and objective-focused play | Guides describe resourcefulness, repair utility, and locked-door usefulness; another presents him as helpful for solo recovery situations. |
| Laurie Strode | Balanced, flexible play | A fan stat comparison calls her the safest all-purpose choice because she is the only civilian in its table without a stat below 6. That supports a balance argument, not a claim that she wins most often. |
Those descriptions reflect guide assessments rather than verified comparative outcomes. Treat them as ways to match a civilian to a job, not as proof that one pick is universally strongest.

Why tier lists disagree
Three September 2026 rankings reach notably different conclusions. The September 10 Halloween Wiki list puts Tanya and Marcus in S tier, while Laurie and Alexis Purcell are A+. A September 14 Gamer.org list instead places Laurie, Bob Simms, and Alexis in S, with Marcus in B and Tanya in C. Destructoid’s September 6–7 list ranks Jennifer Aarons and Rachel Calahan in S, while placing Annie Brackett and Eric Dunn in B; it had not evaluated Bob or Laurie.
The lists are dated editorial judgments, not a settled competitive consensus. Their coverage and criteria differ, and the available material does not establish roster-wide win rates or pick rates. Use tiers as one opinion, then consider what your team actually needs.
#1 Best Overall
- This 1 vs Many game by renowned designer Emerson Matsuuchi is the first time the original Halloween movie has been made into its own board game.
- It was the night HE came home... and one player must take on the role of Michael Myers!
- The others will control Laurie and her friends as they scramble to find weapons, the kids, and a way to escape.
- Their task will be made more difficult because Myers can only be seen when you're looking right at him!

Match the civilian to your squad
Choose support when the team needs information or protection
Tanya is the clearest support-oriented recommendation in the reviewed guides, which describe phone-status information and a trait that protects followers. Alexis is also discussed for dispatch-call and follower support. These are guide descriptions, not evidence that either character produces better match outcomes.
Choose objective utility when repairs matter
Marcus is presented as a resourcefulness-focused pick, with repair and locked-door utility. That can make him a practical fit when your plan depends on completing objectives or recovering on your own. His value still depends on the map and what teammates bring.
Rank #2
- A 1 vs Many game by renowned designer Emerson Matsuuchi.
- Focus on hidden movement mechanics and escaping as a bystander, or hunting them down as Mike Myers!
Choose balance when you do not want to specialize
Laurie’s appeal in the available stat comparison is her even spread: that reference says she is the only listed civilian without a stat below 6. A balanced profile may make her a reasonable fallback, but it does not establish a higher win rate or make her the best choice for every squad.

The fan comparison uses four categories, each tied to a different kind of task:
Rank #3
- Thrilling party game starring the voice of Ghost Face, Roger L. Jackson himself!
- Fast-paced gameplay gets your heart pounding as you race to stay alive!
- Custom Ghost Face figure tracks the killer as he moves and attacks.
- Free downloadable game app features intense original narration and music!
- Evocative art and components, including Knife first-player marker, will delight Scream fans.
- Capability: melee and thrown items.
- Athleticism: movement.
- Personality: persuasion and resistance to Stalk.
- Resourcefulness: repairs and firearms.
Do not add the four values into a single score and treat the result as a ranking. A high value in one category may better serve your plan than a uniform spread, while a weakness may matter less if a teammate covers it. The stat reference also cautions that patch-dependent scaling can change how useful a category is.
One roster reference says its listed values were read from a preview video and were not checked against the current patch. Check the in-game display before relying on a particular number; those figures should not be read as performance data.

Account for access, map, and patch
- Check unlocks first. Rankings may include late-unlock or newer civilians, while some guides leave characters unranked because coverage is limited. A tier placement is useful only if the character is available to you.
- Consider edition access. Confirm which civilians your edition or unlock progress provides rather than assuming every list covers the same available roster.
- Adjust for the map and team. Guides note that map and role affect value. A support pick, an objective specialist, and a balanced fallback solve different problems.
- Recheck after patches. The available stat figures are not confirmed against the current patch, so an old stat table or tier placement may not reflect current scaling.
