Best Chromebooks for Samsung Galaxy Phone Users (2026)

Best current Samsung-branded choice: the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus. In Samsung’s US catalog, it is the company’s current Chromebook listing, with a 15.6-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, Intel Core 3 processor, 8GB of memory and 256GB of storage. The displayed starting price was $774.99 on October 13, 2026, but Chromebook pricing and stock change frequently.

The important qualification is that Galaxy phone integration comes mainly from ChromeOS and Android features, not from Samsung branding alone. Phone Hub, Quick Share, notification syncing, recent photos, messaging and phone-based unlocking work across compatible Android phones and Chromebooks. A Samsung laptop gives you Samsung hardware and design; it does not automatically unlock every Galaxy-exclusive feature.

What Galaxy phone owners should expect from a Chromebook

A Chromebook can make a compatible Android phone useful from the laptop screen. Depending on the ChromeOS and Android versions involved, you can check phone signal and battery status, view notifications, open recent Chrome tabs, access recent photos, exchange files, send messages, use the phone’s network connection and unlock the Chromebook with the phone.

These capabilities are split across Google’s connected-device features. They do not all share one minimum version, and some functions have additional device, account, network or carrier requirements. Treating “Android integration” as one universal feature is the fastest way to buy the wrong machine or expect an unsupported function.

HP 14" HD Chromebook Laptop for Students, Intel Quad-Core N4120(> N4020), 4GB RAM, 64GB eMMC, WiFi, Webcam, HDMI, USB-A&C, 14 Hours Battery Life, Zoom, Chrome OS, CUE Accessories
  • Intel Celeron N4120: 4 Cores & Threads, 1.1GHz Base Clock, Up to 2.6GHz Boost Clock, 4MB Cache, Intel UHD Graphics 600. The perfect combination of performance, power consumption, and value helps your device handle multitasking smoothly and reliably with four processing cores to divide up the work.

Phone Hub

Phone Hub is the Chromebook control panel for a connected Android phone. Google documents a Chromebook running ChromeOS M89 or later and an Android phone running Android 5.1 or later for Phone Hub. Available controls can include phone signal and battery information, quick commands, Chrome tabs, notifications and recent photos.

Phone Hub is a ChromeOS feature. A Samsung Galaxy phone can use it with a Chromebook from another manufacturer when the software and account requirements are met, so Samsung branding is not a prerequisite.

Quick Share

Quick Share transfers files between nearby Android devices and Chromebooks. Google lists ChromeOS 91 or later and Android 6 or later for this connection. Quick Share is off by default on a Chromebook; you choose who can discover the computer in its visibility settings.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a Galaxy owner, this is useful for moving photos, videos, documents and downloads without emailing files to yourself or plugging in a cable. Same-account Android-to-Chromebook transfers may be accepted automatically, but you should still select a visibility option that matches your privacy needs.

Other connected-device functions

Google’s broader Android-to-Chromebook guidance lists ChromeOS 71 or later and Android 6 or later for functions such as notification and photo syncing, messaging, a phone network connection and phone-based unlocking. Those requirements should not be substituted for the separate Phone Hub or Quick Share minimums.

Function Chromebook requirement Phone requirement What it does
Phone Hub ChromeOS M89 or later Android 5.1 or later Phone status, quick commands, Chrome tabs, notifications and recent photos, subject to device and account support
Broader connected-device features ChromeOS 71 or later Android 6 or later Examples include notification and photo syncing, messaging, phone network connection and phone-based unlocking
Quick Share ChromeOS 91 or later Android 6 or later Nearby file transfers between Android devices and Chromebooks

ChromeOS normally updates automatically, but an older or administratively managed Chromebook may not be able to reach the required version. Before buying a used model, check its remaining ChromeOS update support and confirm that it can run the version required by the feature you need.

The best Samsung Chromebook for a Galaxy phone

Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus

The Galaxy Chromebook Plus is the clearest current US choice if you specifically want a Samsung-branded Chromebook. Samsung’s product listing describes access to your phone from the Chromebook, but that statement is manufacturer marketing language rather than an independent integration test.

Specification Samsung-listed detail
Display 15.6-inch, 1920 × 1080 Full HD AMOLED
Processor Intel Core 3
Memory 8GB LPDDR5X RAM
Storage 256GB UFS
Weight 2.58 pounds
Battery claim Up to 13 hours, based on Samsung’s stated Google Chrome Power Load Test method; actual runtime varies
Displayed US starting price $774.99 in Samsung’s catalog on October 13, 2026; volatile retail pricing

Why it suits a Galaxy owner

  • The 15.6-inch AMOLED panel provides a large workspace for messages, photo review, browser tabs and media.
  • 8GB of LPDDR5X memory is a sensible starting point for ChromeOS multitasking with several browser tabs and Android-connected features active.
  • 256GB of storage gives more local room than entry-level Chromebooks that rely heavily on cloud storage.
  • At 2.58 pounds, it is relatively portable for a 15.6-inch computer, although smaller Chromebooks remain easier to carry every day.
  • Its Samsung construction and screen may matter if you want a visually consistent device alongside a Galaxy phone, tablet or earbuds.

What it does not prove

The Galaxy Chromebook Plus does not establish that Samsung hardware is faster, receives longer support or integrates more deeply with a Galaxy phone than every competing Chromebook. Phone Hub and Quick Share are Google ecosystem features. A less expensive Chromebook that meets the same ChromeOS requirements can provide the same baseline connections.

Do not buy the Plus expecting guaranteed Galaxy phone app streaming. Google’s Phone Hub instructions currently name Pixel 4a or later, Nothing Phone (1) and (2), and selected Xiaomi models as examples for app streaming. Samsung Galaxy phones are not included in that listed group. App streaming also requires compatible network conditions, proximity and permissions.

How to choose a Chromebook when phone integration is the priority

1. Check ChromeOS update support first

Phone features depend on software versions, so update eligibility is more important than a logo on the lid. For a new computer, verify the model’s promised ChromeOS support period. For a used computer, open its settings and check the update information before paying. A machine that cannot reach ChromeOS 89 or 91 may miss Phone Hub or Quick Share requirements even if its hardware still works for basic browsing.

  • Fast WiFi and Bluetooth, Integrated Webcam
  • Chrome OS, AC Charger Included, Pastel Silver

2. Match the hardware to your workload

Phone integration itself is lightweight; your workload determines the useful specification. Browser-heavy work, video calls, large spreadsheets and many open tabs benefit from at least 8GB of RAM. If you mainly write, read news and use webmail, a lower-cost configuration may be adequate. Local photo and video storage makes 256GB more convenient than a very small drive, but cloud storage can reduce the need for capacity.

3. Choose the screen and form factor deliberately

A 15.6-inch screen is comfortable for side-by-side messaging and documents, but it occupies more desk and bag space. A smaller 13- or 14-inch model is easier to carry. A touchscreen or convertible hinge can help with Android applications and tablet-style use, while a conventional clamshell is often simpler and lighter. The sources establish the Galaxy Chromebook Plus as a 15.6-inch AMOLED design; they do not establish a Samsung convertible alternative in the current US catalog.

4. Treat battery numbers as estimates

Samsung’s “up to 13 hours” figure is a claim produced using the Google Chrome Power Load Test. Screen brightness, wireless use, video playback, Android activity and background syncing can all reduce runtime. Compare test methods before treating any advertised number as a direct comparison.

5. Verify the exact regional configuration

The cited Samsung listing is US-specific. Model names, processors, memory, storage, keyboard layouts, warranty terms and prices can differ by country. Confirm the exact model number in the retailer or Samsung listing, especially when a search result uses a generic phrase such as “Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus 15.6 inch.”

Set up Phone Hub with a Samsung Galaxy phone

Use the connected-device flow rather than trying to pair the phone as an ordinary Bluetooth accessory. Google states that a phone cannot pair to a Chromebook as a Bluetooth device in the normal way.

  1. Update the Chromebook and Galaxy phone as far as each device allows. Confirm the Chromebook meets the Phone Hub requirement of ChromeOS M89 or later and the phone runs Android 5.1 or later.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on both devices and keep them close together during setup.
  3. On the Chromebook, open the Settings app and go to Connected devices.
  4. Select the Android phone connection option and follow the on-screen prompts to choose your Galaxy phone and sign in to the requested account.
  5. Open the Phone Hub controls and enable only the features you want, such as notifications, recent photos, Chrome tabs or phone-based unlocking.
  6. Test each enabled function separately. A successful pairing does not guarantee that every connected-device feature is available on every phone, account or managed Chromebook.

Work- or school-managed computers can restrict Phone Hub. If a setting is missing or greyed out, the administrator may have disabled it, or the account, operating system or device may not meet the requirement.

Enable Quick Share for photos and files

  1. Confirm the Chromebook runs ChromeOS 91 or later and the Galaxy phone runs Android 6 or later.
  2. On the Chromebook, open the Quick Share controls from the system tray or Settings.
  3. Turn Quick Share on and select a visibility setting. Choose the narrowest option that still lets your phone discover the Chromebook.
  4. On the Galaxy phone, select a file, tap the share control and choose Quick Share.
  5. Select the Chromebook when it appears, then accept the transfer if prompted.
  6. After transferring sensitive files, return to visibility settings and reduce discoverability if you do not need the Chromebook to remain visible.

Keep both devices nearby. Wireless interference, disabled Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, a locked screen, restricted permissions and an incompatible account can prevent discovery. Same-account transfers may be accepted automatically, but automatic acceptance does not remove the need to configure visibility responsibly.

Texting, notifications, photos and hotspot use

Text messages and notifications

When the relevant connected-device features are supported and enabled, notifications and messaging can appear on the Chromebook. The exact experience depends on the phone, account permissions and ChromeOS version. If you need uninterrupted work messaging, test your own carrier, account and notification settings before relying on the Chromebook as your primary interface.

Recent photos

Phone Hub can expose recent photos, while Quick Share is the more direct tool for sending selected files. Use Phone Hub for quick access to recent content and Quick Share when you need a deliberate transfer of a specific photo, video or document.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Phone-based unlocking

Phone-based Chromebook unlocking is one of the broader connected-device functions documented by Google. It requires compatible software, an appropriately configured account and the phone to be nearby. It is a convenience feature, not a replacement for maintaining a strong account password or screen lock.

Phone network connection and hotspot

A Chromebook may be able to use the phone’s network connection, but hotspot support depends on Chromebook compatibility, account and operating-system conditions, the phone and the mobile operator. Hotspot use can drain the phone battery quickly and may create carrier charges or consume a limited data allowance. Check your plan before using it for large downloads or video calls.

Charging and accessories

A USB-C charger can be useful if you carry a Galaxy phone, tablet and Chromebook, but “universal” should not be assumed. Samsung’s older Galaxy Chromebook Go product sheet described a charger compatible with Samsung Chromebooks, phones, tablets and earbuds. That document does not establish that one named charger meets the wattage and USB-C Power Delivery requirements of every current laptop.

Match the charger’s output to the exact Galaxy Chromebook Plus configuration and use a USB-C Power Delivery charger that meets Samsung’s specification. A phone charger may charge slowly, fail to charge while the Chromebook is under load or not charge the laptop at all.

Troubleshooting common connection problems

The phone does not appear during setup

  • Turn Bluetooth on for both devices and move them close together.
  • Use Settings > Connected devices instead of the Chromebook’s ordinary Bluetooth pairing screen.
  • Confirm both devices use the account required by the connected-device flow.
  • Install pending ChromeOS and Android updates.
  • Check whether a work or school administrator blocks connected devices.

Phone Hub connects but a feature is missing

Check the specific feature’s requirements rather than the Phone Hub minimum. Google documents different ChromeOS and Android versions for Phone Hub, broader connected-device functions and Quick Share. A missing feature can also reflect unsupported phone hardware, permissions, proximity or account policy.

Quick Share cannot find the Chromebook

  • Verify ChromeOS 91 or later and Android 6 or later.
  • Turn Quick Share on and review visibility.
  • Keep the devices nearby and unlock them during discovery.
  • Check Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and permission settings.
  • Temporarily choose a broader visibility option, complete the transfer, then narrow visibility again.

App streaming is unavailable

This is expected for many Galaxy phones. Google’s current examples for Phone Hub app streaming do not include Samsung Galaxy models. Do not treat a missing app-streaming control as evidence that the Chromebook is defective.

The advertised battery life is not being reached

Samsung’s up-to-13-hour figure is a controlled test claim, not a guarantee for every workload. Lowering display brightness, reducing unused tabs, limiting background syncing and avoiding sustained high-load applications can improve runtime, but real results will vary.

Which buyer should choose the Galaxy Chromebook Plus?

Choose it when

  • You specifically want a Samsung-branded Chromebook.
  • You value a large 15.6-inch AMOLED display for documents, photos and media.
  • You want 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the configuration Samsung lists.
  • You are comfortable paying a displayed US starting price of $774.99, subject to change.
  • You understand that its Galaxy-phone advantage is primarily hardware design alongside standard ChromeOS and Android integration.

Consider another Chromebook when

  • Your main reason for buying is Phone Hub or Quick Share alone; compatible models from other manufacturers can provide those Google features.
  • You need the smallest or lightest possible computer for commuting.
  • You require guaranteed Samsung Galaxy app streaming.
  • You are shopping outside the US and cannot verify the exact Samsung configuration or support terms.
  • Your budget is below the current Samsung catalog price and a lower-cost Chromebook meets your performance needs.

Pre-purchase checklist

  1. Confirm your Galaxy phone runs Android 5.1 or later for Phone Hub, and Android 6 or later for the broader connected-device features and Quick Share.
  2. Confirm the Chromebook can run ChromeOS M89 or later for Phone Hub and ChromeOS 91 or later for Quick Share.
  3. Decide whether you need a 15.6-inch display or a smaller, more portable model.
  4. Choose RAM and storage based on your tabs, applications and local files rather than the phone brand.
  5. Verify the exact model number, regional warranty and return policy.
  6. Recheck the current price and stock immediately before ordering.
  7. Do not count on Galaxy phone app streaming unless your specific phone appears on Google’s supported list.
  8. Match any replacement charger to the Chromebook’s required USB-C Power Delivery wattage.

Bottom line

The Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus is the best-supported answer for a buyer who wants a current Samsung-branded Chromebook for use with a Galaxy phone: it combines a 15.6-inch Full HD AMOLED display, Intel Core 3, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage and a 2.58-pound design. Its advertised battery life is up to 13 hours under Samsung’s stated test method, and the US catalog displayed a $774.99 starting price on October 13, 2026.

Its phone connection should be understood accurately. Phone Hub, Quick Share, notification syncing, messaging, recent photos, phone networking and phone-based unlocking come from compatible ChromeOS and Android features, so Samsung branding is not required. Galaxy phone app streaming is not guaranteed by the current Google documentation. Buy the Plus for its Samsung hardware and large AMOLED design, while choosing any Chromebook that meets the relevant ChromeOS requirements if Google’s phone features are your only priority.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
