If you want to leave ChromeOS but keep useful connections to your Samsung Galaxy phone, start with a Windows laptop. Samsung’s Galaxy Book6 is the most ecosystem-focused option documented here: Samsung says it supports features such as Quick Share, Storage Share, Multi Control and Link to Windows, subject to device and feature requirements. A different Windows laptop can also pair with supported Galaxy phones through Microsoft Phone Link. Neither option guarantees that every feature will work with every Galaxy model.
Which Chromebook alternative fits your Galaxy phone?
The right choice depends on whether you want Galaxy-specific continuity or mainly need a laptop that runs Windows applications and can show phone content. The available official information supports these options, but does not establish a tested ranking for speed, battery life, screen quality, keyboard comfort or overall value.

| Galaxy Chromebook Plus | Samsung’s Galaxy laptop overview lists this model, but it runs ChromeOS, so it is not an alternative if your aim is to leave Chromebook software. Samsung Galaxy Books | Consider it only if your real priority is a different Chromebook rather than a different operating system. |
What Galaxy features does the Galaxy Book6 add?
Samsung presents the Galaxy Book6 as a Windows laptop with cross-device tools for compatible Galaxy devices. Quick Share is for sharing content; Storage Share lets users access compatible phone files on the laptop without transferring them first; Multi Control supports using devices together; and Link to Windows connects supported phone experiences with Windows. These are Samsung’s product descriptions, not independent test findings. Feature eligibility and setup conditions vary, so confirm the footnotes for the specific function and your devices. Samsung’s Galaxy Book6 announcement and Galaxy Book6 Edge support notes provide the relevant details.
For Samsung Browser users, Samsung says browsing continuity between mobile and PC is currently available on Galaxy Book3, Book4, Book5 and Book6 series. That is a series-specific feature, not evidence that browser continuity is available on every Windows laptop. Samsung Global Newsroom

Galaxy Book6 US availability and price
Samsung Newsroom US announced in September 2026 that the 14-inch Galaxy Book6 was available through Amazon in the United States, with configurations described as 256GB or 512GB storage and 8GB or 16GB RAM, in two colors. The announcement listed a starting price of $799.99 at that time; it is a dated US price, not a guarantee of today’s listing price, stock or configuration. Check the current listing before buying. Yes, if your devices meet Microsoft’s requirements and your phone supports the features you want. Phone Link can bring supported phone functions—including messages, recent photos, apps, calls and notifications—to a Windows PC. Microsoft says setup requires Windows 10 with the October 2022 update or later, or Windows 11; an Android phone running Android 10 or later; and both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. For some Samsung cross-device features, Samsung’s support notes specify using Link to Windows on the phone and Microsoft Phone Link on the PC, with both signed into the same Microsoft account. Other features may require a Samsung account, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or particular software versions. Do not assume one successful pairing unlocks every Galaxy feature.

Check compatibility feature by feature
- Identify the exact feature. Decide whether you want messages and notifications, phone apps on the PC, file access, sharing, or another function; their device requirements may differ.
- Check your phone model. Microsoft maintains separate compatibility information for preinstalled Link to Windows, Phone screen and Apps, and notes that experience varies by device and operating system. Some functions are limited to selected models or markets. Microsoft’s supported-device list
- Verify software and accounts. Confirm the Windows and Android versions and any Microsoft or Samsung account requirements specified for the feature.
- Meet the connection requirement. For Microsoft’s described Phone Link setup, keep the phone and PC on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Recheck before purchase. Compatibility can depend on device, operating system and market, so confirm the specific combination rather than relying on a general “Galaxy compatible” label.
How to choose if Galaxy integration is not the only priority
- Choose the Galaxy Book6 if Samsung’s own cross-device tools are central to your workflow and your phone is eligible for the features you plan to use.
- Choose another Windows laptop if Windows software matters most and Phone Link’s supported functions are enough. This keeps the choice open across manufacturers, but does not promise Samsung-specific feature parity.
- Consider a Mac only after checking your workflow. The cited official sources do not establish a Galaxy-focused Mac recommendation, so verify app needs and desired phone interactions independently.
- Reconsider the operating-system change if your concern is price, portability or web-first work rather than ChromeOS itself. The Galaxy Chromebook Plus is still a Chromebook, not a route off ChromeOS.
