For most players who want an affordable wireless mouse, the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED is the safest starting point: it uses a HERO sensor, supports 200–12,000 DPI, and is advertised for up to 250 hours from one AA battery. It is not the proven “best Fortnite mouse”—the available sources do not contain Fortnite head-to-head testing—but it offers a sensible combination of price-oriented design, battery life, and customization.
Choose the G305 if its egg-shaped body suits your hand and you do not mind its 99 g battery-included weight. Choose the 70 g HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Core Wireless if low weight and dual wireless connections matter more. A wired model such as the 55 g Glorious Model O Eternal or 87 g HyperX Pulsefire Core can be a better fit when you want to avoid batteries and wireless charging entirely.

What matters most in a cheap Fortnite mouse
A mouse can affect aim consistency, building edits, and comfort over long sessions, but a specification sheet cannot tell you whether a particular shape will fit your hand. The practical buying order is:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Shape and hand fit: the length, width, hump, and side contours determine whether your fingers remain relaxed or you constantly adjust your grip.
- Grip style: palm, claw, and fingertip grips place different demands on the shell. A mouse comfortable for a palm grip may feel restrictive for fingertip control.
- Weight: lighter mice generally require less effort for large swipes, while some players prefer the steadier feel of a heavier body.
- Connection: wireless removes cable drag, but it introduces battery management. Wired models are always ready to use, provided the cable does not interfere with your pad or desk.
- Button layout: two thumb buttons may be enough for your binds; extra buttons are useful only if their placement is comfortable and you can avoid accidental presses.
- Price and availability: both change by country, retailer, and promotion. Confirm the delivered local price and return policy before buying.
DPI and polling rate are useful specifications, not guarantees of better Fortnite performance. Logitech’s buying guide describes DPI as sensitivity and polling rate as how often the mouse reports its position. RTINGS notes that higher polling rates can produce measurable improvements, while the in-game benefit may be minimal. Your sensitivity, control, and comfort matter more than the largest number on a product page.

Best budget wireless candidate: Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED
Why it is the default recommendation
The G305 combines a wireless connection with Logitech’s HERO optical sensor. Logitech lists a sensitivity range of 200–12,000 DPI and advertises up to 250 hours of battery life from one AA battery. PC Gamer’s coverage reports a 99 g weight with the battery installed. RTINGS recommends it as its budget wireless gaming mouse for most people and describes its body as egg-shaped.
That makes the G305 a credible starting point for a player upgrading from a basic office mouse or a worn-out bundled peripheral. A replaceable AA cell is easy to find, and the advertised endurance means you are unlikely to think about charging during every play session. The sensor range is also more than sufficient for normal Fortnite sensitivity settings; running the mouse at 12,000 DPI is not required.
Who should buy it
- Players who want wireless freedom without maintaining a rechargeable battery.
- People whose hand fits an egg-shaped shell and who prefer a medium-weight mouse.
- Players who want adjustable sensitivity and software customization rather than a fixed, no-frills device.
Who should consider another model
- Players specifically seeking a very light mouse for broad, fast arm movements.
- Anyone who dislikes replacing AA batteries or wants Bluetooth as a second connection.
- People whose palm, claw, or fingertip grip feels cramped or unsupported on the shell.
The G305’s 99 g battery-included weight is not a defect, but it is a meaningful trade-off against 55–70 g alternatives. Treat the 250-hour figure as Logitech’s advertised maximum, not a promise of identical runtime in every usage pattern.

The Pulsefire Haste 2 Core Wireless is the clearest alternative when weight is your first priority. HyperX lists a 70 g operating weight, 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.2, six buttons, up to 1,000 Hz polling, and up to 100 hours of gaming performance.
Why the lower weight matters
At 70 g, it is 29 g lighter than the G305 figure reported by PC Gamer. That difference can be noticeable during repeated low-sensitivity swipes, especially if you use your forearm and move the mouse across a large pad. It does not automatically make the Haste 2 Core Wireless more accurate: a shape that does not support your grip can be tiring regardless of the scale reading.
Connection and battery trade-offs
Its 2.4 GHz receiver is the conventional choice for gaming, while Bluetooth can be convenient for a laptop or a second device. HyperX’s up-to-100-hour figure is a manufacturer specification. Compared with the G305’s advertised 250 hours on one AA battery, it implies more frequent charging or battery attention, depending on how you use the mouse.

Wired lightweight pick: Glorious Model O Eternal
PC Gamer’s deals coverage describes the Glorious Model O Eternal as a wired value option and lists a 55 g weight, 12,000 DPI, and 1,000 Hz polling. Its 55 g figure makes it the lightest option in this comparison.
When a wired 55 g mouse is the better choice
- You want the lowest weight here without managing a battery.
- Your desk layout allows the cable to run freely or you already use a cable-supporting mouse bungee.
- You are comfortable verifying current price and availability because deals coverage can become outdated.
A 12,000 DPI maximum is not evidence that it will improve Fortnite aim. Use the setting that gives you controllable movement, and judge the shell and cable behavior in your own setup. The listed price and stock can change, so confirm them locally.
Wired, feature-focused option: HyperX Pulsefire Core
The Pulsefire Core is a conventional wired alternative. HyperX lists an 87 g weight, a Pixart 3327 sensor, sensitivity up to 6,200 DPI, and seven programmable buttons.
Why its seven buttons may help
Additional programmable inputs can be useful if you want more actions on the mouse, but the number alone should not determine your purchase. Check the location and resistance of each button: a button that is difficult to reach is not a practical bind, and one that is easy to trigger accidentally can be disruptive in a fight.
At 87 g, the Core sits between the 55 g Model O Eternal and the 99 g battery-equipped G305. It avoids wireless and battery concerns, but you must route the cable so it does not catch on the edge of your desk or pull against the mouse during a swipe. Its 6,200 DPI ceiling is already ample for normal use; the lower maximum compared with some competitors does not establish inferior Fortnite performance.

How to choose by hand size and grip
Palm grip
Your palm rests on the shell and your fingers lie relatively flat. Look for enough length and rear support to keep your wrist relaxed. A short or sharply raised body can force your fingers into an uncomfortable curl.
Claw grip
Your palm contacts the rear while your fingers arch toward the clicks. A defined hump can support the back of the hand, but side contours must leave room for the thumb and ring finger. Test whether you can lift and reposition the mouse without squeezing it tightly.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFingertip grip
Only your fingertips touch the mouse. Lower weight is often attractive because you make frequent small repositioning movements, but a shell that is too narrow can increase tension. The 55 g Model O Eternal and 70 g Haste 2 Core Wireless are the lightweight candidates here; neither is automatically right for every hand.
A simple fit check before ordering
- Measure your hand from the wrist crease to the tip of your middle finger.
- Compare the manufacturer’s published dimensions for the model you are considering.
- Read return terms carefully, since dimensions cannot reveal every contour or button position.
- When trying the mouse, hold it in your normal Fortnite grip for several minutes and check whether your thumb, ring finger, and little finger remain relaxed.
These checks are more useful than selecting a mouse solely because its sensor has a larger DPI number.
Wireless or wired: a practical decision
| Priority | Wireless is usually preferable when… | Wired is usually preferable when… |
|---|---|---|
| Desk movement | You want no cable drag during large swipes. | Your cable can be routed straight to the PC without catching. |
| Maintenance | You accept charging or replacing batteries. | You want the mouse ready whenever the PC is on. |
| Weight | You are willing to accept battery weight, as with the G305, or choose a lighter wireless design. | You want the lowest listed weight, such as the Model O Eternal. |
| Devices | You need 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth flexibility, as listed for the Haste 2 Core Wireless. | You use one fixed gaming PC and do not need a second connection. |
Modern wireless specifications do not by themselves prove a competitive advantage. For this group, the meaningful question is whether removing cable drag is worth the battery and charging routine.

DPI and polling rate without the marketing confusion
DPI controls how far the pointer travels for a given physical movement. A very high maximum lets you choose a high sensitivity, but it does not make the sensor inherently more precise at that setting. Most players should select a comfortable sensitivity and keep it consistent while learning their aim.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Polling rate is the frequency at which the mouse reports its position. The Haste 2 Core Wireless and Model O Eternal are listed at up to 1,000 Hz. RTINGS’ explanation is the useful qualification: higher rates can show measurable differences, yet the real in-game benefit may be small. A stable frame rate, a comfortable grip, and repeatable sensitivity are more consequential than choosing between two large polling-rate numbers.

- Set a real delivered budget: include taxes, shipping, a replacement battery or charging accessories, and any return cost.
- Confirm regional stock: prices and availability change, and the Haste 2 Core Wireless price cited above came from a regional page.
- Check the shell dimensions: compare them with your hand and grip rather than assuming “medium” means the same thing across brands.
- Decide on weight deliberately: choose the G305 for its wireless endurance if 99 g is acceptable, or consider the 70 g and 55 g alternatives when low weight is central.
- Count useful buttons, not just total buttons: verify that thumb and side controls are reachable without changing your grip.
- Plan cable or battery management: a wired model needs clear cable routing; a wireless model needs a charging or AA replacement routine.
- Use the return window: comfort and shape are difficult to judge from specifications alone.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Buying the highest DPI number
The G305 and Model O Eternal both list 12,000 DPI, while the Pulsefire Core lists 6,200 DPI. Those maxima do not rank the mice for Fortnite. Pick a sensitivity you can control and evaluate the shape.
Assuming lighter always means better
Reducing weight can make broad movements easier, but a shell that does not support your hand can create tension. Compare the complete fit, not the scale reading in isolation.
Treating advertised battery life as a guarantee
“Up to” figures describe a manufacturer’s stated maximum. Actual runtime depends on usage and settings. The G305’s 250-hour claim and Haste 2 Core Wireless’s 100-hour claim should be used to compare maintenance expectations, not promised schedules.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Ignoring the cable on a wired mouse
A wired mouse can be excellent value, but a cable that rubs against a monitor stand or desk edge can undermine the reason you bought a lightweight model. Check the route before deciding that wired is automatically simpler.
Best Value
- Next-gen 12,000 DPI HERO optical sensor delivers unrivaled gaming performance, accuracy and power efficiency
- Advanced LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming mouse for super-fast 1 ms response time and faster than wired performance
- Ultra-long battery life gives you up to 250 hours of continuous gaming on a single AA battery
- Lightweight mechanical design and classic shape for maximum maneuverability, durability and comfort
- Compact, portable design with convenient built-in storage for included USB wireless receiver
Expecting a mouse to fix inconsistent aim
No source reviewed for these models established a Fortnite performance improvement. A consistent sensitivity, repeatable grip, suitable pad, and regular practice remain necessary regardless of the mouse.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Logitech G305 LIGHTSPEED if
You want the most balanced budget wireless starting point, like an egg-shaped shell, and accept 99 g with the battery. Its HERO sensor, adjustable 200–12,000 DPI range, and advertised 250-hour AA runtime make it a practical general recommendation, not a Fortnite-proven winner.
Choose the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Core Wireless if
You prioritize a 70 g body and want both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth. Accept the shorter advertised 100-hour maximum and verify that its regional price fits your budget.
Choose the Glorious Model O Eternal if
You want the lightest listed option and prefer a wired connection. Confirm current price and stock, and make sure the cable can move freely.
Choose the HyperX Pulsefire Core if
You prefer wired reliability, want seven programmable buttons, and find its 87 g shape comfortable. Its specifications do not establish an advantage in Fortnite, so hand fit and button placement should decide the purchase.
