There is no verified, server-wide ranking that proves one character is the best investment in Kuroko’s Basketball Street Rivals. Guides published in March and April 2026 repeatedly highlight Zone Kagami, Akashi, Aomine, Murasakibara and Midorima, but differ on their tiers. For a first investment, choose by the role you want and the build you can sustain: Zone Kagami is presented as an accessible scorer, Akashi as a flexible but resource-intensive playmaker, and Midorima as a specialist for players committed to long-range shooting.
Which characters are worth investing in?
The strongest recurring candidates in the available March–April 2026 lists are not a definitive ranking. The guides use different judgments, and neither establishes an authoritative tier list for every region or server. Treat them as dated snapshots, not proof of win-rate advantage.

| Character | Best fit | What to weigh before investing |
|---|---|---|
| Zone Taiga Kagami | Accessible scoring and explosive dunk offense | A March 11, 2026 guide describes his positioning as straightforward and his offense as effective in lower and mid ranks. The guide names him as a strong reroll target; this is its assessment, not independently verified performance. Clashiverse, March 11, 2026 |
| Seijuro Akashi | Flexible playmaking with contributions on offense and defense | The same guide says unlocking his full potential takes substantial skill-tree investment. He suits players who want a versatile role and are prepared to commit resources. Clashiverse, March 11, 2026 |
| Shintaro Midorima | Specialist long-range scoring | The guide highlights three-point shooting and some defensive utility, but cautions that shooting-guard upgrades are specialized and less transferable to other positions. Clashiverse, March 11, 2026 |
| Aomine | High-ceiling offense | The guide describes his offense as unpredictable, while warning that longer, more complicated combos can be challenging for beginners. Clashiverse, March 11, 2026 |
| Murasakibara | A candidate to consider when building around team role | He appears in the April 8, 2026 list’s S tier, but the list does not establish a universal ranking or a measured performance advantage. Kongbakpao, April 8, 2026 |
The April 8 list also places Kuroko and Imayoshi in S tier alongside Kagami, Aomine, Murasakibara, Akashi and Midorima. Its author says ranking every character is difficult and advises choosing based on preference and using balanced court formations. That makes the list a useful roster reference, not a guarantee that every S-tier character is equally useful for your lineup. Read the April 8 tier list.

How to choose your first investment
When your region, server and owned roster are unknown, compare candidates by their job on the court, how difficult they are to execute, how much investment their build demands, and whether their upgrades support only one position. No common official scoring rubric is established by the cited guides.
#1 Best Overall
- Choose Zone Kagami if you want a relatively straightforward scoring option and value dunk-focused offense.
- Choose Akashi if you enjoy a flexible playmaker and are willing to invest in his skill tree.
- Choose Midorima if long-range shooting is the role you want to build around and you accept more specialized upgrades.
- Consider Aomine if you want an offensive option with complex combos and are comfortable learning them.
- Check your formation before committing: choose a character who fills a role your lineup needs rather than relying on tier placement alone.
If you are resource-conscious, focus first on a role you enjoy and can field consistently, then add characters that cover missing team roles. A character’s presence in a tier list does not show that investing in them will improve your win rate.
Why rankings can change by server and version
The ranking guides are dated March 11 and April 8, 2026, respectively. A July 2026 player discussion includes later LG variants and conflicting opinions about their relative value, illustrating that character assessments can shift as the roster and player views change. Community disagreement is not a definitive ranking. Check whether a guide covers your server and available version before using it to make a long-term investment decision. What is known about draws and upgrade costs
Five Cross’s January 18, 2024 announcement described the game as a free-to-play 3D basketball competition for iOS and Android, originally released in Japan on November 16, 2023. It documented limited character draws and automatic conversion of duplicate character cards into awakening cards. Those are dated details, not confirmation of current banner or conversion rules. The announcement does not state a current total character-upgrade cost. Five Cross announcement, January 18, 2024.
