Rodri: the immediate elite option
At 90 OVR, Rodri is the highest-rated player in this group and suits a club that needs a top-level starter now. His age of 30 and €110M displayed value make him the oldest and most expensive option here, so he is a difficult fit for a tighter budget or a long rebuild.

How to choose the right CDM for your save
- Need an immediate upgrade? Start with Rodri if your budget and transfer situation can accommodate a premium target.
- Building over several seasons? Caicedo and Gravenberch are both 24, with potential ratings above their current OVR in this database.
- Want a lower displayed value without dropping far in current rating? Compare Tonali and Zubimendi. Tonali has the higher listed PHY; Zubimendi has the lower displayed value.
- Prioritizing a specific role? Consider the relevant attributes alongside OVR. For example, Tonali’s listed DEF/PHY combination is 81/84, compared with Zubimendi’s 80/75.
These are shortlist cues based on database figures, not guarantees of player availability, transfer acceptance or negotiation cost. FCCareer’s ranking includes players with CDM as either a primary or secondary position and is ordered by OVR. It is an independent database, not an official EA ranking; FCCareer says it is not affiliated with EA.
Check your squad update before making a move
EA says FC 27 Manager Career uses TransferRoom-informed player valuations that can evolve, with an adjusted-value model considering factors such as form and league strength. EA also says Dynamic OVR is affected by form, morale and match fitness. As a result, a database value is a starting point for comparison, not a fixed quote that applies to every save. Check the squad update active in your career before committing to a target: EA Help’s Career Mode guide advises downloading the latest squad update for current transfers and player ratings.
