Recommended starting settings
Use this setup as a baseline, not a guarantee. Devices expose different frame-rate ceilings, and the same nominal setting can behave differently after a long session, a software update, or a change in room temperature.

| Setting | Starting choice | Why | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graphics Quality | Low | Reduces the amount of visual detail the phone must render and is the performance-oriented starting point recommended in Google Play’s Call of Duty: Mobile settings editorial. | Raise it one step only after a complete match remains smooth and targets are still easy to distinguish. |
| Frame Rate | Highest available option that stays stable | Higher frame rates can make camera movement and aiming feel more responsive. | Drop to the next option if you see hitching, uneven motion, input delay, overheating, or sudden slowdowns. |
| Depth of Field | Off | Google Play identifies it as resource-heavy; disabling it can reduce blur and help maintain a steadier frame rate. | Leave it on only if you prefer the effect and your phone remains consistent. |
| Real-Time Shadows | Off | Shadows add rendering work and can introduce dark visual areas that make targets harder to read. | Test it on if visual depth matters more to you than maximum consistency. |
| Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, Ragdolls | Test individually | Activision lists these as graphics options, but their availability and impact vary by build and device. | Keep a toggle only when the picture improves without causing instability. |
Do not interpret “Low plus Max” as a promise that every phone can run a maximum frame rate. The useful rule is highest stable, not highest selectable. If a setting looks impressive in the menu but produces inconsistent frame pacing during fights, it is the wrong setting for competitive play.

1. Start with a repeatable test
- Use the mode you play most, because Multiplayer and Battle Royale can use separate graphics settings.
- Choose a familiar map or landing area with the type of action that normally causes slowdowns.
- Play long enough to expose heat-related performance loss, not just the first quiet minute after launching the game.
- Change one setting at a time and repeat the same kind of match. Changing several options together makes it impossible to know which change helped.
2. Lower rendering load first
Set Graphics Quality to Low, disable Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows, and select the highest frame-rate option that remains even. These are the clearest performance-oriented choices supported by the official editorial guidance. If motion is still uneven, reduce the frame-rate option one step before raising graphics detail.
3. Check optional effects
Anti-Aliasing can smooth jagged edges, Bloom adds bright light effects, and Ragdolls affect how bodies react. Activision documents these categories, but the exact switches and performance cost can differ by game build and hardware. Test each in a busy scene. A toggle that improves edge quality but causes stutter is usually a poor trade for a fast match; a toggle that makes targets easier to separate may be worth keeping on a phone with sufficient headroom.
4. Control heat and background load
- Remove a thick case temporarily if the phone becomes hot during play.
- Close other demanding apps and avoid recording, downloading, or installing updates while testing.
- Keep the phone charged enough for normal performance; some devices reduce speed when battery protection or thermal limits engage.
- Do not judge a setting from a single short round. Performance can change as the device warms.
These are practical troubleshooting steps, not measured claims about a particular FPS increase. The game, operating system, and device firmware decide the result.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhich graphics settings make enemies easier to see?
Visibility is a combination of contrast, motion clarity, screen brightness, and the amount of visual clutter. A lower-detail image can be easier to read even when it looks less cinematic.
Turn off effects that hide movement
Depth of Field can blur parts of the scene, while Real-Time Shadows can create dark patches and extra moving detail. Google Play’s editorial recommends disabling both for a steadier frame rate; the same changes can also produce a cleaner sight picture. Test them in indoor areas, at long range, and during close fights because a setting that looks clear outdoors may feel different in a dim room.
Keep clarity effects only when they help
Anti-Aliasing may make geometry look smoother, but smoothing is not automatically better target definition. Bloom can add glow around bright objects and may distract from a silhouette. Ragdolls normally matter less for aiming than the other options, yet they can add activity after an elimination. There is no universal “on” or “off” answer for these three; compare a controlled scene at your usual display brightness.
Use the game’s visibility features carefully
A March 2025 Season 3 — Cyber Mirage announcement described a thin red line outlining Multiplayer enemies. That feature is version-sensitive: check the current client rather than assuming the outline remains active, and do not treat it as a user-controlled graphics switch unless your current menus expose one. The announcement does not establish that the outline applies to Battle Royale or to every future season.

Multiplayer versus Battle Royale settings
Call of Duty: Mobile can provide separate graphics settings for Multiplayer and Battle Royale. Tune each mode independently instead of accepting one compromise profile.
| Mode | What to test | Useful priority | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Multiplayer | Close-range fights, rapid camera turns, repeated respawns, and dense indoor scenes | Consistent frame pacing and fast target acquisition | Short engagements punish hitching immediately; a stable frame rate is often more valuable than extra texture detail. |
| Battle Royale | Long sight lines, vehicle travel, open terrain, cities, and late-circle player density | Stable performance across large scenes plus readable distant targets | The mode can stress the device differently from a compact Multiplayer map, so a setting that works in one mode may not hold up in the other. |
A practical per-mode procedure
- Open the game’s Settings and locate the graphics section.
- Select Multiplayer, apply Low graphics, disable Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows, and choose the highest stable frame-rate option.
- Play a complete Multiplayer match and note stutter, heat, and target readability.
- Switch to Battle Royale and repeat the process in a busy area and during late-game action.
- Save the less demanding profile for the mode that shows instability; raise one visual option only when the mode remains smooth.
Menu labels can move between releases. If your client does not show separate mode tabs, use the options it provides and retest after major updates.
Sensitivity, field of view, aim assist, and HUD layout
Official controls guidance documents customizable on-screen layouts, field of view, aim assist, and camera and aiming sensitivity, but it does not establish a universally correct sensitivity number. Your screen size, touch sampling, grip, thumbs, play style, and preferred weapon types all matter.
Build sensitivity in small steps
- Begin with the game’s default sensitivity or your existing profile.
- Enter a practice area or a low-pressure match and perform the same turn, swipe, and tracking motion several times.
- If you consistently overshoot a target, lower the relevant sensitivity slightly. If you cannot turn onto a nearby target without lifting your thumb repeatedly, raise it slightly.
- Change one category at a time, such as camera sensitivity before aiming-down-sights sensitivity.
- Repeat the test with both a fast close-range weapon and a slower long-range weapon.
- Keep the setting for several matches before making another adjustment.
A high value is not automatically faster in practice if it causes overcorrection. A low value is not automatically more accurate if it prevents a quick turn. The goal is repeatable movement that you can control under pressure.
Place the HUD around your hands
Move fire, aim, crouch, jump, reload, and movement controls so your thumbs do not cover the sight picture or collide during a panic fight. Increase a button’s size if you miss it; reduce opacity only when the control remains easy to find. Keep the layout consistent while testing sensitivity, otherwise you are changing two variables at once.
Field of view and aim assist
A wider field of view shows more of the scene but can make distant targets appear smaller. A narrower view enlarges central targets while reducing peripheral information. Test FOV at your normal viewing distance and brightness. Aim assist is a gameplay preference documented in the controls guidance; evaluate whether it helps your intended weapons and mode rather than assuming it is always beneficial.
Touchscreen or controller?
Touch controls remain necessary for navigating lobbies, settings, and loadouts. Activision documents controller support for Multiplayer and Battle Royale, making a compatible controller an optional choice for supported matches rather than a replacement for the mobile interface.

| Approach | Advantages | Limitations |
|---|---|---|
| Touchscreen | No additional hardware, immediate access to every menu, and flexible HUD placement | Requires learning multi-finger controls and can feel cramped on smaller screens. |
| Compatible controller | Familiar physical sticks and buttons for players who prefer them | Support is limited to documented match modes, pairing varies by phone and controller, and touchscreen input is still needed in menus. |
Before buying or pairing anything, verify that your specific phone and controller combination is supported. A controller is optional, so there is no required hardware purchase to use the settings in this guide. Controller use does not remove the need to tune graphics, frame rate, or visibility; it only changes how you provide input.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Minimum device requirements and what they mean
Activision’s support information, updated 25 February 2026, lists these minimum compatibility requirements:
- Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM.
- iOS 15.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM.
These are installation and compatibility minimums, not a promise of a particular frame rate, graphics preset, temperature, or match stability. A phone that meets the 2 GB requirement may still need Low graphics and a reduced frame-rate option. Newer operating systems and more capable hardware can provide more headroom, but the only reliable answer is how your current client performs in a sustained match.
How to interpret the requirement correctly
Meeting the operating-system and memory minimum means the device is within the stated compatibility range; it does not mean that every graphics option will appear or that the highest frame-rate setting will be stable. Devices can expose different ceilings, and a software update can alter available choices. Treat the requirement as a floor for installation, then make your decision from actual match behavior.
Troubleshooting common performance problems
The game looks smooth at first, then stutters
Heat is a likely variable. Retest after lowering Graphics Quality, turning off Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows, and selecting the next-lower frame-rate option. Remove a case, stop background downloads, and compare a cool-device session with a warmed-up session.

The frame rate is high but aiming feels inconsistent
Look for uneven frame pacing rather than the menu’s nominal maximum. Lower the frame-rate choice until camera motion is consistent, then retest sensitivity. A stable lower option is preferable to a higher option with intermittent hitching.
Enemies disappear in effects or dark areas
Disable Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows first. Test Bloom and Anti-Aliasing separately, increase device brightness to a comfortable level, and compare the same scene without changing your HUD or sensitivity.

One mode performs well and the other does not
Use the separate Multiplayer and Battle Royale profiles when available. Battle Royale’s larger scenes may need a lower frame-rate choice or fewer effects even when Multiplayer remains smooth.
A setting is missing after an update
Graphics menus and seasonal features can change. Recheck the current client’s options, confirm whether the setting is mode-specific, and avoid assuming that a feature described in a March 2025 announcement is still active in 2026.
The picture is clear, but controls still feel wrong
Do not immediately raise every sensitivity slider. Confirm that the HUD has not moved, that your fire and aim buttons are reachable, and that you are testing with the same FOV and display brightness. Change one control category at a time, then play several matches before judging it. A layout that looks tidy can still force awkward thumb travel, while an aggressive layout can hide part of the sight picture.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A simple optimization checklist
- Confirm your phone meets Android 6.0+ or iOS 15.0+ and has at least 2 GB of RAM.
- Set Low graphics as the initial performance profile.
- Choose the highest frame-rate option that remains stable in a full match.
- Turn Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off while testing.
- Evaluate Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls one at a time.
- Create separate profiles for Multiplayer and Battle Royale when the client permits it.
- Adjust sensitivity and HUD controls in small increments after graphics are stable.
- Retest after updates, prolonged play, or a change in device temperature.
- Use a controller only if your phone/controller pairing is supported, and remember that touchscreen controls remain needed for menus.
The strongest general rule is to trade visual detail for consistency only as far as your own device requires. Start with Low graphics, remove heavy effects, and work upward cautiously; never assume a setting is best simply because it is the highest option shown.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best settings for COD Mobile?
Start with Low Graphics Quality, Depth of Field off, Real-Time Shadows off, and the highest available frame-rate option that stays stable through a full match. Test Anti-Aliasing, Bloom, and Ragdolls individually, then tune Multiplayer and Battle Royale separately when those profiles are available.
How do I get more FPS in COD Mobile?
Lower Graphics Quality first, disable Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows, and select the highest frame-rate setting your phone can sustain. Test after the device warms up, close demanding background apps, and lower the frame-rate option if motion becomes uneven. No single toggle guarantees a fixed FPS increase.
Should I use Low graphics and Max frame rate?
It is a sound starting point when performance is the priority, but only if the device can sustain that frame rate. If you see stutter, overheating, input delay, or inconsistent motion, choose the next-lower frame-rate option instead of keeping a nominal maximum.

- Tactile bumpers and D-pad, 2 Pro back paddle buttons, Xbox button, and wear-resistant metal joystick rings for more ways to play.
- Support 8BitDo Ultimate Software V2 on mobile.
Which graphics settings make enemies easier to see?
Turning off Depth of Field can reduce blur, and turning off Real-Time Shadows can remove dark visual patches and clutter. Test Bloom and Anti-Aliasing separately because their effect varies by device and build. Use a comfortable screen brightness and compare the same scene before and after each change.
What settings should I use for Multiplayer versus Battle Royale?
Use the same performance principles but test each mode independently. Multiplayer usually exposes hitching during rapid close fights, while Battle Royale can stress the device during travel, large views, cities, and late-circle activity. Keep the less demanding profile for whichever mode becomes unstable.
Is there a universal best sensitivity number?
No. Official controls guidance documents sensitivity customization but does not establish a universal value. Start from the default, change one category in small increments, and test close-range turns and long-range tracking for several matches before changing it again.
Recommended Free Tools
Do I need a controller to play well?
No. Touchscreen controls are the default and provide access to every menu. Activision supports compatible controllers in Multiplayer and Battle Royale as an optional preference, but touchscreen input is still needed for lobbies, settings, and loadouts. Check your specific phone and controller pairing before buying hardware.
What are the minimum phone requirements?
Activision’s support information updated 25 February 2026 lists Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, or iOS 15.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM. These are compatibility minimums, not promises of high frame rates or smooth performance at high graphics settings.
Why does COD Mobile run well for one match and then slow down?
Device heat can change performance over time. Retest with Low graphics, Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows off, and a lower frame-rate option. Remove a thick case, stop background downloads, and compare a cool session with a warmed-up session.
The Bottom Line
Best overall starting point: Low Graphics Quality, Depth of Field off, Real-Time Shadows off, and the highest frame-rate option that remains stable on your phone. Test optional effects one at a time, create separate Multiplayer and Battle Royale profiles when available, and adjust sensitivity, FOV, and HUD placement through small repeatable changes. The right setup is the one that keeps your matches consistent and targets readable—not the one with the highest label in the menu.
