This is a historical guide to Best Buy’s March 2025 Tech Fest sale. Laptop Mag published the roundup on March 15, updated it March 20, and said the promotion ran through March 23, 2025. The prices below were sale listings, not current quotes. Best Buy says prices, inventory, quantities and in-store pricing can change, so use its current promotions page for replacement offers.
The 55 recommendations covered laptops, Chromebooks, phones, tablets, headphones, wearables, monitors, storage and TVs. Some required My Best Buy pricing, carrier activation, trade-in, a gift card or a particular configuration.

Best mainstream value: HP Envy 2-in-1
The listed $449 price after a stated $350 reduction made the Envy the clearest mainstream value. Its convertible design suits school, office work and occasional tablet use. Buy only after checking the exact processor, memory, SSD and display in the cart; an attractive family-level discount does not apply to every configuration.

Best ARM ultraportable: Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x
The Yoga Slim 7x combined Snapdragon X Elite, a 14.5-inch 3K OLED panel, 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD. It is compelling for web work, Office, streaming and long unplugged sessions. Windows-on-ARM can still limit specialist applications, drivers, older games and unusual peripherals, so it is a poor blind purchase for engineering, legacy accounting or niche creative software.
Best high-end Windows configuration: HP OmniBook Ultra
The sale listing cited AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, 32GB memory and a 2TB SSD with a stated $500 reduction. That capacity is better suited to heavy multitasking and local creative projects than an 8GB model. Confirm that the discounted SKU is the same configuration discussed in the review; related models are not identical.
Other laptop values
Asus Zenbook S 14 was described at approximately $400 off, while Acer Swift 14 AI and M3/M4 MacBook Air models rounded out the shortlist. Apple’s M4 Air configurations reported in the roundup used 16GB memory, a 13.6- or 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display, MagSafe 3 and Thunderbolt 4. Choose MacBook Air for macOS software and Apple-device continuity; choose Windows for broader legacy software and port flexibility. Do not assume a family discount applies to every screen size or storage tier.
Best Chromebook deals
Acer Chromebook Plus 515, Acer Chromebook Plus 516 GE, Asus Chromebook Plus CX34, Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus, Acer Chromebook Spin 312 and the Acer Chromebook 315 bundle were aimed at browser work, Google Workspace, schoolwork and streaming. ChromeOS is a sensible low-maintenance choice when applications live online. It is the wrong platform for many Windows-only Adobe, engineering and accounting programs, demanding local video editing and high-end native games.

Best phone offers—and the conditions attached
Pixel 9a preorder
The Pixel 9a offer was presented as starting at a stated $499 with a free $100 Best Buy gift card and an April 2025 release. A gift card is not an instant $100 price cut, and preorder timing means delivery and cancellation rules matter. The roundup reported Tensor G4, a 5,100mAh battery, IP68 and Android 15 at the time; verify the shipping date and exact storage before checkout.

Galaxy S25 Ultra
The stated $200 reduction applied to the 1TB model, with a separate activation offer. Compare the unlocked price with the carrier price, required plan, trade-in value and any bill credits. The 6.8-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Elite and 5,000mAh battery were article-level specifications, not a guarantee of every sale SKU.
Galaxy Z Fold 6, Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro
The Fold 6 was described with a stated $300 unlocked reduction or a larger Verizon activation discount. Pixel 9 and 9 Pro offers likewise separated unlocked and activation pricing. Treat those as different deals: activation may require a new line, a specific carrier, trade-in eligibility or credits spread over months. Confirm whether the phone is unlocked, the storage tier and the total plan cost.

Choose by workflow, not screen size
- iPad mini (A17 Pro): the portability choice; the roundup identified an 8.3-inch display and 128GB base storage.
- M3 iPad Air: the general-purpose iPad and laptop-adjacent option, but keyboard and Pencil costs are commonly extra.
- Surface Pro 11: best when Windows applications and a detachable keyboard matter; verify that the advertised keyboard bundle includes what you need.
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE: lower-cost Android productivity with an included S Pen, IP68 and microSD expansion.
- Galaxy Tab S9 Plus and Ultra: large-screen Android entertainment and multitasking; accessories and cellular service may cost extra.
iPadOS, Android and Windows provide materially different desktop workflows. Check whether a pen, keyboard, charger and cellular modem are included rather than comparing tablet prices alone.
Best headphone deals
AirPods 4 with ANC and AirPods Pro 2
AirPods are the safest recommendation for iPhone users who value seamless pairing and Apple-device features. Pro 2 adds the more advanced in-ear design and USB-C case. Fit determines real-world noise cancellation, and battery figures are normally “up to” ratings affected by ANC and volume.
Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
Buds 3 Pro’s strongest ecosystem features favor Samsung Galaxy owners. The roundup reported ANC and IP57 for the earbuds; that rating should not be assumed to cover the charging case. Android users outside Samsung’s ecosystem should compare multipoint behavior and app features before choosing them over a cheaper competitor.
Beats Studio Pro and JBL Tune 235
Beats Studio Pro offered ANC, USB-C lossless audio, a 3.5mm input and quoted battery life of up to 40 hours. USB-C audio requires a compatible device and mode. JBL Tune 235 was the budget pick. For either model, check fit, microphone quality, codec support and whether the advertised battery figure is with ANC disabled.

Best wearable deals
Apple Watch SE (second generation) and Series 10 are primarily iPhone accessories. Galaxy Watch 7 is intended for Android phones, with feature availability varying by handset, country and software. Cellular editions require a separate carrier plan. Fall detection, emergency SOS, crash detection and sleep functions are manufacturer features; availability and behavior can change with region, software and paired device.
Best monitors and PC accessories
Odyssey Neo G7 43-inch
The 4K 144Hz monitor suits a wide desk, a powerful gaming PC or a console setup that can use high refresh rates. Verify native refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, VRR support, stand dimensions and viewing distance. A huge screen is not automatically a better office monitor.
Gaming and productivity accessories
- Corsair K100 Air RGB: premium low-profile wireless gaming keyboard; expensive if you do not need its feature set.
- Logitech G Pro X Superlight: lightweight competitive-gaming mouse; battery claims depend on lighting and usage.
- WD Black 2TB Game Drive: the article quoted transfers up to 2,000MB/s. Check the exact interface, console generation, usable capacity and whether games can run directly from it.
- Logitech MX Master 3S: strong productivity ergonomics, but not a competitive-gaming mouse.
Best TV deals
The TCL Q6 75-inch QLED was the value large-screen category, while the TCL QM7 75-inch QD-Mini LED targeted better contrast and local dimming. HDR, 120Hz, QLED and Mini-LED describe capabilities or technologies, not equal picture quality. Before buying, check the exact panel, peak versus typical brightness, Dolby Vision, HDMI 2.1 ports, VRR, stand width, wall-mount pattern and room viewing distance. A discounted 75-inch TV is poor value if it overwhelms the room or lacks the gaming inputs you need.

Checkout checklist
- Copy the exact model number and compare RAM, storage, screen size, GPU, cellular capability and included accessories.
- Record the final nonmember price, then test the member price; do not count a hypothetical reward as guaranteed savings.
- Identify activation, trade-in, carrier-plan and bill-credit requirements.
- Confirm whether a gift card is replacing an immediate discount.
- Check return window, warranty, protection coverage, delivery date and stock status.
- Verify operating-system, app, accessory, console and peripheral compatibility.
- Compare the deal with the newer replacement model before paying.
What I would skip
- A carrier offer whose credits require a plan or trade-in you would not otherwise choose.
- An expensive membership bought solely for one small discount.
- 4GB Chromebooks for several years of multitasking.
- A large TV or 43-inch monitor that does not fit the room or support your console and GPU.
- A tablet whose keyboard, stylus, charger or cellular service turns the advertised price into an expensive setup.
- An older flagship phone when a newer midrange model offers longer support at a similar total cost.
Verdict
The historical sale’s best values were the HP Envy 2-in-1 for mainstream Windows buyers, the Yoga Slim 7x for compatible ARM workloads, the Pixel 9a gift-card preorder for carefully qualified Android shoppers, AirPods Pro 2 for iPhone owners, the Surface Pro 11 bundle for Windows tablet users, and the TCL QM7 or Odyssey Neo G7 only when the room and inputs fit. The discount mattered less than the exact configuration, ecosystem and conditions attached. For current shopping, use Best Buy’s live sale page rather than assuming any March 2025 price or inventory remains.
