If you need a finished video to start playing on YouTube at a set time without you being online, StreamYard is the clearest documented alternative to Be.Live. Restream also documents a workflow for uploading prerecorded videos and creating events. Be.Live’s scheduling feature, by contrast, creates an announcement: you still have to start the broadcast yourself.
Which Be.Live alternative fits your prerecorded YouTube stream?
| Service or route | What the cited documentation establishes | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Streams uploaded videos to YouTube from the cloud, with 24/7 looping and playlists. | Keeping an uploaded video or playlist running continuously, rather than scheduling one event. |
| StreamYard | Its prerecorded-streaming help page says a scheduled video goes live at the selected time, even if you are not online to start it. StreamYard Help Center | A hands-off scheduled prerecorded broadcast. |
| Restream | Its Upload & Stream workflow describes uploading videos to Restream storage and using them to create prerecorded events. Restream Help Center | An uploaded prerecorded event workflow; verify the exact automation and plan limits for your use. |
| Be.Live | Its YouTube scheduling instructions say the scheduled event is an announcement and must be started manually. It also documents YouTube broadcasting and Offline Recording. Be.Live Help Center | Keep using Be.Live if an advance announcement is useful and you will be present to start the show. |
| YouTube encoder setup | YouTube documents setting up a live stream with an encoder. YouTube Help | A configurable production workflow; the encoder guide alone does not establish unattended scheduled playback of a prerecorded file. |
These options solve different problems. A scheduled event is not automatically a video that starts itself, and an uploaded-event workflow is not necessarily a continuous 24/7 loop. Choose based on whether you need an automatic single start, an uploaded event, a live show, or a channel that stays on.
1. StreamNeo: for continuous, cloud-run YouTube playback
StreamNeo is #1 for creators who want an uploaded video or playlist to keep running on YouTube: it runs continuously from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers the first day free.
To use it, upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded content in the cloud, so your computer and home internet connection do not need to stay on. It is for uploaded videos, not live camera broadcasts, and streams to YouTube only.

2. StreamYard: for an unattended scheduled prerecorded broadcast
StreamYard’s help documentation describes the most direct match if your goal is to schedule a finished video and have it start without a host at the controls. It says the video goes live at the selected time, even if the user is not online to start the broadcast. The prerecorded studio inherits settings from a previous studio, including resolution, so check those settings before creating the scheduled stream.

The cited help page does not establish current plan eligibility, pricing, file-size limits, or maximum video length. Confirm those details in StreamYard’s current product information before choosing a plan.
3. Restream: for uploaded prerecorded events
Restream documents an Upload & Stream workflow: upload a video to its storage and use it to create prerecorded events. Its YouTube connection instructions also describe connecting a channel. This establishes an option for uploaded events, but the cited material does not settle storage limits, event duration, plan eligibility, or the precise automatic-start behavior for every event type. Check those details against your intended schedule and account plan.

When Be.Live is still enough
Be.Live remains relevant if you want to announce a YouTube broadcast in advance and expect to start it manually at showtime. Its scheduling page explicitly distinguishes that announcement from an automatically starting stream. Be.Live also describes YouTube broadcasting and Offline Recording, which records a broadcast without taking it live. If avoiding a manual start is the main requirement, that scheduling feature does not meet it.
Check YouTube readiness before scheduling
Restream’s YouTube setup guidance says live streaming must be enabled for the channel. For a first livestream, it reports that phone verification may be followed by a 24-hour wait before streaming is available. Confirm the channel’s live-stream status ahead of the event rather than discovering the restriction at start time. Restream: How to connect YouTube
Restream’s help page, published July 9, 2026, says YouTube has no stream-duration limit but archives only streams under 12 hours. Treat that as Restream’s documented guidance, not a guarantee that every current YouTube account or workflow behaves identically; check YouTube’s current guidance if a long broadcast or replay archive matters.

Choose by start behavior, production needs, and distribution
- No one will be online at the start: StreamYard documents automatic scheduled prerecorded playback. Be.Live’s schedule requires a manual start.
- You want to upload a file to create an event: Restream documents Upload & Stream; confirm the event controls and account limits you need.
- You need a host-led show around the video: Compare current studio and production features directly. The cited help pages do not establish a complete feature-by-feature comparison.
- You want multiple destinations: Check current destination support and plan limits for the exact services and channels you intend to use. The documented workflows here are not enough to establish all present limits.
- You want continuous playback: A scheduled event and an always-on loop are different jobs; use a service designed to keep uploaded video playing continuously.
Copyright and reused-content checks still apply
Using a prerecorded file does not change your responsibility to have the rights needed for its video, music, and other material. Review YouTube’s applicable rules and permissions before scheduling or looping content, especially if you did not create or license every element. A livestream workflow is not a workaround for copyright restrictions or YouTube monetization policies.
Troubleshooting common setup problems
The stream does not start at the scheduled time
- Check whether you scheduled an announcement or an automatically starting prerecorded stream. Be.Live requires a manual start for its scheduled YouTube event.
- For an automatic workflow, confirm the event was created as prerecorded and that its schedule and account eligibility match the service’s current requirements.
- Check YouTube channel readiness; first-time activation may require verification and a waiting period.
The prerecorded video uses the wrong resolution
For StreamYard, review the studio resolution before creating the prerecorded stream because the prerecorded studio inherits previous studio settings. The cited information does not establish exact supported resolution options or caps for every plan.
The video or event exceeds an account limit
Do not assume a video-length, file-size, or storage allowance from a feature description alone. Check the current plan and product documentation for StreamYard or Restream before uploading, since the cited workflow pages do not establish those limits.
