If you want live MLB scores and a place to talk about the game, Fanarchy is the closest all-in-one option described in the available product information: it combines live game threads, scores, play-by-play, team communities, and fan commentary. For a discussion space built around existing team subreddits, try Reddit’s MLB Scores tools. If scores and game details matter more than conversation, Apple Sports or the official MLB app are better fits.
The key distinction is that a live scoreboard is not automatically a fan community. Choose based on whether you want to follow plays, talk with other fans, or watch or listen to the game.

Reddit: use community threads alongside live scoreboards
The Reddit MLB Scores app page describes an all-games scoreboard with live scorebugs and game threads. A game view may show a linescore, box score, plays, and win probability. The tools are configured by subreddit moderators, so the setup and availability of threads can differ from one community to another.

Reddit says its MLB Dinger tool uses public MLB-hosted schedules, scores, plays, statistics, and baseball assets. Its Dinger documentation notes that live information can occasionally be delayed or corrected by the source. Reddit is therefore a community-based option, but its scoreboard is not a guarantee of perfectly instantaneous data.

MLB app: official game detail and optional viewing
Apple’s MLB guide says the official MLB app’s free tier includes a redesigned scoreboard and Live Activities. Its Gameday view follows pitches, hits, and plays with 3D visualizations and additional data. The guide also describes MLB+ and MLB.TV as paid subscriptions for live video and audio offerings. Those tiers address watching or listening, not the separate need for fan discussion.

In a March 2026 r/baseball discussion, the opening post asked, “Is there anything out there that’s a good alternative?” and complained about extra navigation steps in the MLB app. One reply recommended Apple Sports for live scores and standings; another said, “Apple Sports is amazing for live scores & standings. ESPN or MLB for anything in-depth.” A different commenter said ESPN’s scoreboard showed the information they wanted and loaded faster.
