The iPhone 17 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus are also strong alternatives, at 17 hours 54 minutes and 16 hours 55 minutes, respectively. All three lasted substantially longer in that test than the iPhone Air or Galaxy S25 Edge.
Which alternatives last longest in the same test?
Tom’s Guide tested continuous web surfing over cellular with screen brightness set to 150 nits, running each phone until it shut down. The results provide a useful like-for-like comparison, but they are lab results for one workload—not a guarantee of how long a phone will last with your mix of calls, video, games, camera use, and signal conditions.

OnePlus 13: prioritize endurance on Android
At 19 hours 45 minutes in the cited comparison, the OnePlus 13 is the clearest choice if your main goal is to maximize measured cellular browsing time among these options. It runs Android, so weigh that result against your preference for an operating system and ecosystem, and check the phone’s current specifications for the camera, charging, and other features you need.

iPhone 17 Pro Max: the iOS battery-first option
The iPhone 17 Pro Max recorded 17 hours 54 minutes in the same test. It is the iOS route among the leading endurance choices listed here. Its result is lower than the OnePlus 13’s in this workload, but still well ahead of the iPhone Air’s 12 hours 2 minutes.
Galaxy S25 Plus: a Samsung alternative
The Galaxy S25 Plus reached 16 hours 55 minutes in Tom’s Guide’s comparison. It offers a Samsung Android option for people who want to move away from the S25 Edge’s thin design without choosing a different manufacturer.
iPhone 17 Pro: a middle ground in this comparison
The iPhone 17 Pro lasted 15 hours 32 minutes in the same test. That is shorter than the Pro Max’s result, but longer than the Air’s. Consider it if you want an iPhone Pro model and do not require the best endurance result in this group.

Why thin-phone battery comparisons need care
The test method matters. Tom’s Guide’s main comparison is continuous cellular web surfing at 150 nits. In a separate test focused on the iPhone Air, the publication used continuous 5G web surfing over T-Mobile at 150 nits: the Air lasted 12 hours 2 minutes and the Galaxy S25 Edge lasted 11 hours 48 minutes. That same-day result differs from the Edge’s 12 hours 38 minutes in the comparison table, so it is more accurate to describe the Edge as roughly a 12-hour result than to imply there is one definitive figure across both tests.
Tom’s Guide also ran a five-hour streaming-video exercise in which the Air retained 81% battery and the Edge retained 67%. Those are partial-test results; extrapolating them into a full-charge runtime would be theoretical, not a measured full-run result. Apple’s separate estimates—up to 27 hours of local video playback and up to 22 hours of streamed video playback for iPhone Air—are manufacturer figures under Apple’s playback conditions, not direct equivalents to a cellular browsing test. TechRadar lists the iPhone Air at 5.6 mm thick and 165 g, and the Galaxy S25 Edge at 5.8 mm and 163 g. It gives the Air an unofficial 3,149 mAh battery estimate, which should not be treated as a confirmed Apple specification; the Edge is listed with a 3,900 mAh battery. The difference in battery capacity alone does not determine real-world endurance, which is why same-method runtime tests are more useful for comparing these particular phones.

Thin designs can also mean trade-offs in camera flexibility or other flagship features, but those vary by model. Check current specifications against the features you care about rather than assuming that all thin phones make the same compromises. TechRadar’s comparison of the iPhone Air, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Tecno Spark Slim also lists the Tecno at 6 mm thick and 156 g, with a stated 5,160 mAh battery and 45 W wired charging. TechRadar describes its availability as extremely limited and says it will not be available in most Western markets, making it a regional option rather than a broadly dependable recommendation.
If you want to keep the iPhone Air
Apple’s Air-specific MagSafe Battery is an option for adding endurance without switching phones. In Tom’s Guide’s test setup, the Air ran for 17 hours 15 minutes with the accessory attached; Apple says it adds 65% charge. The added battery also increases what you carry, reducing some of the practical portability advantage of choosing an ultra-thin phone in the first place.
