Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteFor a compact UV printer that handles both rigid objects and selected flexible materials, the xTool O1 Omni Dual UV is a focused option; for a more production-oriented flatbed workflow and taller objects, compare it with the Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e. They are not interchangeable: bed size, object capacity, setup, maintenance and operating costs matter more than headline resolution alone. Current comparable US pricing and total ownership costs are not established here, so neither can be named the best value without current quotes.
Which printer fits your workflow?
| Printer | Best fit | Key established specifications | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| xTool O1 Omni Dual UV | Makers and small businesses seeking UV printing on rigid items plus selected flexible materials and specialty effects. | Standard baseplate 330 × 420 mm; mini baseplate 330 × 122 mm. xTool specifies 7 mm embossed-print height, ±0.2 mm positioning accuracy and 720 × 1440 dpi. | Bundle contents, actual workflow fit, current regional price, consumables, support and maintenance needs. |
| Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e | Shops evaluating a dedicated flatbed workflow with more object-height capacity. | Maximum printable area 300 × 420 mm; accepts media up to 153 mm thick and 5 kg. Mimaki lists up to 1200 × 1200 dpi and rigid/flexible ink options, white, clear and primer. | Footprint, setup and software needs, service availability, local price, ink costs, warranty and realistic throughput. |
The specifications above are manufacturer figures, not independent comparative test results. Resolution by itself does not predict finished quality or production speed: print mode, substrate, pass count, color configuration and application all affect the outcome. What the O1 Omni Dual UV can—and cannot—do
The O1 Omni is sold in three editions: single UV, Dual UV, and UV & DT. xTool describes the Dual UV version as having two UV printheads and supporting rigid materials such as acrylic, wood, metal, glass and ceramic, as well as selected flexible materials such as leather and canvas. Its documented ink paths include CMYKWV, rigid white, flexible white, fluorescent red and fluorescent yellow. These are edition-specific capabilities, not a promise that every O1 model supports every material or process. See the xTool O1 Omni Printer FAQs and O1 Omni Printer User Manual.
Choose the edition for the process
- Single UV: specified for rigid materials.
- Dual UV: adds flexible-material and fluorescent-ink paths.
- UV & DT: combines UV printing with a fabric printhead and DTG/DTF workflows. xTool defines DTG as direct printing onto fabric; DTF prints onto transfer film, then transfers the design with adhesive powder and heat.
If your main product is apparel, do not assume the Dual UV edition is the fabric-printing model; compare the UV & DT workflow instead. Conversely, a rigid-goods shop should check whether it needs the extra fabric workflow before paying for an edition that includes it.

Match the printable area to your products
The O1’s usable area depends on the installed plate or tray. The listed standard baseplate is 330 × 420 mm, the mini baseplate is 330 × 122 mm, and the DT garment tray is 300 × 390 mm. Check the specific edition and bundle contents rather than assuming all plates or trays are included. Manufacturer specifications also list a 7 mm embossed-print height and ±0.2 mm positioning accuracy; treat these as stated specifications, not independently verified performance.
When the Mimaki UJF-3042MkII e is the stronger alternative
The Mimaki is a dedicated UV flatbed, not simply a larger version of the O1. Mimaki lists three on-demand piezo printheads, a maximum printable area of 300 × 420 mm, maximum media thickness of 153 mm and maximum media weight of 5 kg. The listed ink families include rigid and flexible options, white, clear and primer. Consult Mimaki’s UJF-3042MkII e specifications for its current technical details.

That object-height capacity can make it worth evaluating if your work involves thicker objects that exceed the O1’s specified 7 mm embossed-print height. The trade-off is that a dedicated production-oriented flatbed may bring different space, setup, software, service and cost requirements. The available specifications do not establish those ownership details or prove that the Mimaki is faster, cheaper or better for a particular shop. Ask a dealer to demonstrate your actual materials and representative jobs.

Consumables, service and downtime
A dependable cost comparison needs more than a machine quote. Request current delivered pricing for the printer, inks and other consumables, replacement printheads and maintenance; confirm warranty terms, local service arrangements and parts availability. Ask for an ink-consumption estimate on representative designs, and clarify the assumptions behind it. Publicly available information cited here does not settle comparable US landed price, ink cost per job, warranty or service coverage.

Maintenance and idle periods
xTool says automatic maintenance can run when the O1 remains powered. For an extended period without printing, its instructions say to set the printhead or printheads to moisturizing mode through xTool software and leave the printer powered. The manufacturer also warns that temperature affects ink viscosity and jetting: high ink temperature can blur edges, while low temperature can contribute to flow or clogging issues. Follow the current manual’s operating guidance; no independently tested idle-life or maintenance-cost figure is established here.
Accessories and regional compatibility
The O1 manual links guides for the OR1 rotary attachment, RF1 roll feeder and LM1 laminator. These may suit workflows involving cylindrical items or roll media, but verify compatibility with the exact edition and availability in your region before ordering. xTool’s EU O1 Omni product page provides regional product information; availability and shipping terms may differ elsewhere.

A practical buying checklist
- List the products you actually sell. Separate rigid goods, flexible goods, apparel and unusually thick objects; note material, dimensions and weight for each.
- Confirm the required process and edition. Distinguish rigid UV, flexible UV, DTG and DTF, and confirm which ink paths and printhead configuration the quoted machine includes.
- Measure the largest job. Compare the object and artwork with the installed bed or tray dimensions, allowable media thickness and weight—not just the printer’s headline resolution.
- Request a sample or demonstration. Use your substrate, design and desired finish, and ask the seller to state the print mode and production assumptions.
- Build a delivered-cost estimate. Include machine, shipping, ink, other consumables, maintenance, replacement parts, service and warranty; compare quotes for your location and edition.
- Plan for idle time and support. Confirm maintenance procedures, power requirements and local help before relying on the printer for intermittent or deadline-driven work.
