The ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 is the best low-cost alternative to the Triangle Capella 2 if you mainly need clear TV sound, Bluetooth and simple wired inputs. The Triangle AIO Twin is the better step-down choice when Wi-Fi streaming and a built-in phono stage matter more than a fully wireless speaker link. Neither system matches the Capella 2 feature for feature.
Triangle’s US listing showed the Capella 2 at $2,900 per pair on October 13, 2026. The DCB41 was listed at £329 in What Hi-Fi’s 2026 budget-speaker guide, while the AIO Twin was listed at $899 in What Hi-Fi’s 2026 turntable-speaker guide. Those figures are dated, region-specific snapshots, so verify the complete package price and stock before buying.

Quick verdict: which Capella 2 alternative fits your budget?
| System | Price snapshot | Best for | Main compromise versus Capella 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Triangle Capella 2 | $2,900 per pair in the US (Triangle listing, October 13, 2026) | Complete active stereo with Wi-Fi, broad connectivity, DSP and a wireless link between speakers | Highest purchase cost; stands and any subwoofer are extra |
| Triangle AIO Twin | $899 in the US (What Hi-Fi 2026 guide) | Wi-Fi streaming and direct turntable connection at a lower price | One master speaker connects to the passive speaker with a cable; different performance and connectivity tier |
| ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 | £329 in the UK (What Hi-Fi 2026 guide) | Affordable TV-and-music setup with HDMI ARC, Bluetooth and wired inputs | No native Wi-Fi streaming; one powered speaker drives a passive partner by cable |
If the priority is the lowest sensible entry price, start with the DCB41. If you want built-in network streaming and a phono input without paying Capella 2 money, look at the AIO Twin. Choose Capella 2 when the separate hub, WiSA speaker connection, room-oriented DSP and extensive source support justify the premium.
What you are buying with the Capella 2
A complete active system, not passive speakers waiting for an amplifier
Capella 2 is a pair of active bass-reflex speakers with amplification and digital signal processing built into the system. Triangle rates the system at 100 W total, or 2 × 50 W per speaker, and specifies a 42 Hz–22 kHz frequency response. The drivers are a 25 mm magnesium-alloy horn tweeter and a 16 cm natural-cellulose mid-bass driver. Those are Triangle’s published specifications, not independent measurements.

A separate Stereo Hub 2 handles the physical sources and network connection. WiSA sends the audio from the hub to the speakers, so no signal cable runs between the left and right cabinets. Each speaker still needs its own power cable; the wireless link does not make the speakers cable-free.
Inputs and network playback
The hub provides HDMI ARC/CEC for a television, three optical inputs, coaxial, USB-A, USB-B, stereo RCA, Ethernet and a dedicated subwoofer output. Wireless and network support includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect Lossless, Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready and UPnP/DLNA.
The stereo RCA input accepts a line-level analogue source. A turntable without its own line output needs a separate phono stage before it can use that input. The subwoofer output lets you add bass later instead of replacing the speakers.
Room size and placement
Triangle recommends Capella 2 for rooms of 15–40 m². That is a manufacturer recommendation, not a guarantee of the same result in every room. Distance from walls, listening position, furnishings and subwoofer placement will affect bass and stereo imaging. The system’s DSP and room-calibration functions are part of the premium you are paying for, but they do not remove the need for sensible placement.
What the listening review actually claims
T3 reviewer Simon Lucas described the Capella 2 as “a direct, organised listen” that can create a “soundstage that’s spacious, open and quite carefully organised.” He also characterized its bass as punchy rather than the final word in low-frequency extension. These are a reviewer’s listening impressions, not laboratory measurements and not controlled comparisons with the DCB41 or AIO Twin.

Cheapest practical alternative: ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41
What the DCB41 includes
What Hi-Fi describes the DCB41 as “a neat, affordable and talented entry point into speaker systems.” Its published feature set includes 2 × 50 W amplification, HDMI ARC, USB, optical, Bluetooth aptX, a switchable line/phono input and a subwoofer output. What Hi-Fi listed it at £329 in its 2026 budget-speaker guide.
The DCB41 is an active pair, but the electronics are concentrated in one master speaker. A supplied speaker cable connects that master to the passive second speaker. You therefore avoid buying a separate amplifier, but you do not get Capella 2’s cable-free inter-speaker signal path.

HDMI ARC lets the DCB41 receive television audio and usually allows the TV remote to control volume through the ARC connection. Optical is useful for TVs or streamers without ARC, while Bluetooth aptX handles quick playback from a phone or tablet. USB provides a direct digital connection from a compatible computer or source.
The important streaming limitation
What Hi-Fi’s guide says the DCB41 has no native streaming capability. It can play through Bluetooth and wired inputs, but it does not independently join your Wi-Fi network for services such as Spotify Connect, AirPlay or Chromecast. If you want network playback, you must add an external streamer or use a phone, tablet or computer as the source.
Turntable use
The switchable line/phono input means you can connect a suitable turntable directly. What Hi-Fi’s review calls the built-in phono stage adequate for occasional use, but not a highlight. That is a reviewer observation rather than a measured performance result. A turntable with a moving-coil cartridge or unusual output requirements may still need a separate phono stage.

- REMOTE CONTROL - Adjust the volume and toggle inputs at your fingertips. Bass and treble control located on the side of main speaker.
- SIDE PANEL CONTROLS - Use the side panel knobs to adjust the EQ to your liking. The controls are located on the active/powered speaker.
Who should choose it
- Choose the DCB41 when your main sources are a TV, phone, computer or another wired device.
- Choose it when a price around the cited UK £329 level is more important than Wi-Fi streaming or a wireless link between speakers.
- Choose it when you want a subwoofer output for a later bass upgrade without moving to a full separates system.
Do not choose it expecting Capella 2’s network platform, hub-based source management, DSP feature set or presentation at high listening levels. The available material does not establish a controlled, direct sound comparison between the two models.

Best lower-cost streaming option: Triangle AIO Twin
Streaming and inputs
What Hi-Fi’s 2026 turntable-speaker guide lists the AIO Twin at $899 and describes it as a compact all-in-one system with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built-in access to streaming services. It supports up to 24-bit/192 kHz audio, plus Ethernet, a phono/line RCA input, optical, 3.5 mm, USB-A and a subwoofer output.
The AIO Twin therefore answers the question “Which powered speakers have Wi-Fi streaming and a phono input?” more directly than the DCB41. It can connect a suitable turntable to its phono input without an external phono preamp, while network playback avoids the phone-as-source limitation of the ELAC.
Its master-and-passive layout
As with the DCB41, amplification and streaming electronics are housed in one master speaker. A cable runs from that speaker to the passive second speaker. Both cabinets need appropriate power arrangements, and the inter-speaker cable must be accommodated when you plan placement.
That cable is the clearest physical difference from Capella 2’s WiSA arrangement. The AIO Twin can still form a convenient stereo system, but it is not a feature-for-feature replacement for a hub-controlled pair in which the speakers receive their signal wirelessly.

- Amplifier or Receiver is not required, and If you still want to use amplifier or receiver with the bookshelf speakers, please connect via Line Out of the amplifier or receiver.
Television compatibility
The cited What Hi-Fi guide lists optical among the AIO Twin’s inputs but does not state HDMI ARC support. If your television depends on ARC for one-cable volume control, confirm the exact regional specification before buying; otherwise, plan on optical or an external converter.
Who should choose it
- Choose the AIO Twin when Wi-Fi streaming is essential but Capella 2 is outside your budget.
- Choose it when direct turntable connection and a compact footprint matter more than a wireless inter-speaker link.
- Choose it when the cited US price of $899 is acceptable and you have verified current availability and bundle contents.

The table shows why “cheaper” does not mean “equivalent.” The DCB41 trades network playback and wireless speaker placement for a very low-cost, TV-friendly package. The AIO Twin preserves Wi-Fi streaming and phono convenience, but its master-and-passive layout and more limited listed TV connectivity place it in a different tier. Capella 2 combines the broadest documented input set with a separate hub and wireless speaker signal path.

Network streaming and control
Moving from Capella 2 to the DCB41 removes native Wi-Fi streaming. You can restore some functionality with an external streamer, but that adds another box, another power connection and another purchase. The AIO Twin keeps Wi-Fi playback, although its exact service support and app behavior should be checked for your country and current firmware.
Placement freedom
Capella 2’s hub-to-speaker WiSA connection lets you place the speakers without an inter-speaker signal cable. The DCB41 and AIO Twin both require a cable to their passive partner. All three systems still require power, so “wireless” never means that the speakers can be installed without power leads.
Source flexibility
Capella 2 documents HDMI ARC/CEC, multiple optical inputs, coaxial, two USB formats, RCA, Ethernet and a subwoofer output. The alternatives cover the sources most buyers actually use, but with fewer documented options. The DCB41 is strongest for HDMI ARC, Bluetooth and straightforward wired playback. The AIO Twin is strongest for Wi-Fi, phono and compact all-in-one use.
Best Value
- 2 x AUX INPUT - Convenient connection to any device that has a 3.5mm headphone output or dual RCA output. Connect to two devices via AUX at the same time, no plugging and switching needed.
- STUDIO SOUND QUALITY - Natural sound reproduction from 13mm silk dome tweeter and 4 inch full range unit
- REMOTE CONTROL - Adjust volume at your figure tips. Bass and treble control located on the side of main speaker.
- CLASSIC WOOD FINISH - High quality MDF wood build finished with wood effect vinyl serves as a great compliment to any home decor.
- SIDE PANEL CONTROLS - Use the side panel knobs to adjust the EQ to your liking. The controls are located on the active/powered speaker.
Room integration and scale
Capella 2 is the only model in this comparison for which the supplied specifications identify integrated DSP and a 15–40 m² room recommendation. That does not prove it will sound better in every room, and no controlled comparison against the alternatives is available. It does explain part of the price difference and the intended system level.
Choose by the source you use most
If your television is the center of the system
- Choose the DCB41 if HDMI ARC, a simple remote-controlled setup and the lowest cost are your priorities.
- Choose Capella 2 if you also need several digital sources, Ethernet, network services and wireless placement between speakers.
- Consider the AIO Twin only after confirming whether your TV can use its listed optical input comfortably; HDMI ARC is not stated in the cited guide.
If you stream from a home network
- Choose Capella 2 for the broadest documented network support, including AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect Lossless, Qobuz Connect, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready and UPnP/DLNA.
- Choose AIO Twin for a lower-cost Wi-Fi system with streaming services and up to 24-bit/192 kHz support.
- Choose DCB41 only if Bluetooth or a wired external streamer is acceptable.
If you own a turntable
- Choose AIO Twin for a documented built-in phono stage and a phono/line RCA input.
- Choose DCB41 for its switchable line/phono input, remembering that the built-in phono stage was described as adequate for occasional use rather than a standout feature.
- Choose Capella 2 if you already have a phono stage or a turntable with line-level output and want its wider system platform.
If you plan to add a subwoofer
All three systems list a subwoofer output, so each can serve as the starting point for a fuller low-frequency system. A subwoofer model should be selected only after checking electrical compatibility, crossover controls, room size and placement. The available product information does not establish a single best match.
Price, stands and the real purchase total
Do not compare the headline speaker price with an incomplete Capella 2 setup. T3 listed the Capella 2 at £2,299 in the UK, $2,899 in the US and AU$6,000 in Australia on October 10, 2026. Triangle’s US product listing showed $2,900 per pair on October 13, 2026. The small difference between the T3 and Triangle US figures is a date-and-source snapshot, not a guaranteed sale price.

Stands are not included in the Capella 2 pair price unless a seller explicitly bundles them. The DCB41 figure of £329 is a UK guide price, and the AIO Twin figure of $899 is a US guide price; converting either number into another currency would create a false comparison. Shipping, taxes, regional bundles and stock can change the amount you actually pay.
- Confirm that the listing is for a complete stereo pair.
- Check whether the Stereo Hub 2, speaker cables, power cables and remote are included with the Capella 2 package.
- Check whether stands are optional and whether the alternatives include their inter-speaker cable.
- Verify the local warranty, mains-plug type and return policy.
- Recheck the price on the day you order because the cited figures are promotional or time-specific guide prices.
Setup checklists
Capella 2
- Place the Stereo Hub 2 near the television, network connection and other sources.
- Connect HDMI ARC/CEC or optical for TV sound, then connect Ethernet or configure Wi-Fi if you will use network services.
- Connect each speaker to mains power; no signal cable is required between the speakers because the hub uses WiSA.
- Run the system’s DSP or room-calibration process from the supplied controls or app if available in your current software.
- Connect a subwoofer to the dedicated output only after setting the main speakers and checking phase and crossover behavior.
ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41
- Make the speaker with the amplifier your master speaker and place the passive partner within reach of the supplied cable.
- Connect the master speaker to the TV with HDMI ARC or optical.
- Set the input to line or phono before connecting an analogue source.
- Pair a phone over Bluetooth aptX, or use USB for a compatible computer or source.
- Add a subwoofer through the listed output if you need more low-end weight.
Triangle AIO Twin
- Place the master speaker where Ethernet, optical, RCA, USB-A or mains connections are convenient.
- Run the supplied cable to the passive second speaker and allow enough slack for safe routing.
- Join Wi-Fi or Ethernet for network playback, or pair a phone over Bluetooth.
- Use the phono/line RCA mode that matches your turntable or line-level source.
- Use optical for a television unless your exact regional documentation confirms another supported TV connection.
Other models named as alternatives
T3 also names the Technics SC-CX700 and KEF LS50 Wireless II as alternatives worth considering. The available current material does not provide reliable, region-specific prices for either model, so it would be misleading to label them cheaper than Capella 2 or place them in a budget tier. Treat them as separate comparison candidates and verify their current price, included accessories and availability in your market before making a ranking.
Bottom line for each budget
Lowest-cost route
The ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 is the clear budget choice in the cited pricing because it delivers an active stereo pair, HDMI ARC, Bluetooth, wired digital inputs, a switchable phono input and a subwoofer output at £329 in What Hi-Fi’s 2026 UK guide. Its defining limitation is the lack of native Wi-Fi streaming.
Mid-priced streaming route
The Triangle AIO Twin is the more sensible compromise when you want Wi-Fi streaming, direct turntable connection and a compact system for less than Capella 2. Its passive second speaker requires a cable, HDMI ARC is not established in the cited guide, and it belongs to a different performance and connectivity tier.
Premium complete system
Capella 2 earns its premium through the separate Stereo Hub 2, broad source and network support, integrated DSP, WiSA speaker connection and documented subwoofer output. The price is justified only if those capabilities solve a real installation or source requirement; the available evidence does not support claiming a measured sound-quality advantage over either lower-priced alternative.
