The Razer Wolverine V2 Pro is another officially licensed PS5/PC option, though the available official product information here does not support a detailed feature-by-feature comparison.
The NACON Revolution 5 Pro remains a reasonable baseline for players who want offset sticks, Hall-effect sticks and triggers, and extensive configuration. Its key trade-off is important: Nacon says its vibration motors are “not compatible with dedicated PlayStation®5 games.” That means PS5 compatibility does not equal full DualSense feature parity.

Quick comparison: which PS5 controller fits your priority?
| Controller | Best fit | Compatibility stated by manufacturer or platform | Distinctive features documented |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony DualSense Edge | Keeping Sony’s native controller effects while gaining configurable controls | PS5 | Haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, remappable buttons, back buttons, adjustable trigger lengths, stick sensitivity and dead zones, saved profiles, replaceable stick modules, and three types of changeable stick caps (Sony product information, accessed 2026). |
| Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded | Changing the layout or using a fightpad module | PS5 and PS4, as listed by PlayStation Direct | Three customizable Hall-effect modules, a six-button fightpad module, four mappable quick-action buttons, five-stop Hall-effect clutch triggers, interchangeable components, and a carrying case (PlayStation Direct listing, accessed 2026). |

Why switch from the NACON Revolution 5 Pro?
Start with the feature you want to gain, rather than assuming every PS5 “pro” controller offers the same experience. Nacon lists the Revolution 5 Pro as compatible with PS5, PS4, and PC, but its two vibration motors are compatible only with PC and PS4 games. Nacon’s wording for dedicated PS5 games is “not compatible with dedicated PlayStation®5 games.” Sony, by contrast, lists haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for the DualSense Edge.
#1 Best Overall
- Feel physically responsive feedback to your in-game actions through haptic feedback
- Experience varying levels of force and tension at your fingertips with adaptive triggers
- Chat online through the built-in microphone and connect a headset directly through the 3.5mm jack
- Switch voice capture on and off using the dedicated mute button
- Play on more devices using the USB Type-C cable or Bluetooth to connect easily to Windows PC and Mac computers, Android and iOS mobile phones as well as your PlayStation 5
If your main concern is native PS5 immersion, that distinction points toward Sony’s controller. If you want a different arrangement of controls or modular parts, the Victrix is the more directly documented alternative. If your reason for changing is simply a preference for offset sticks, the Nacon itself already has an asymmetric layout; make sure a replacement actually addresses your preference.
Choose the DualSense Edge for Sony’s PS5 features and configurable controls
The DualSense Edge is the clearest choice when you want customization without giving up the signature effects Sony lists for its controller: haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Sony also documents remappable controls, two styles of back buttons, adjustable trigger lengths, configurable stick sensitivity and dead zones, vibration adjustment, and quick-swap profiles.
Rank #2
- Ultra Customizable Controls
- Mappable Back Buttons
- DualSense Wireless Controller Features Built In
- Replaceable Stick Modules and Caps
Sony’s support information says the stick module can be replaced if it stops working or has a problem, and the module is sold separately. That gives Edge owners a documented replacement path for this component; it should not be assumed to apply to other controllers.
Choose the DualSense Edge if keeping Sony’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers matters as much as adding remapping and profile controls. Its documented advantage here is feature continuity and adjustable inputs, not a proven performance or durability advantage over the Nacon.

Choose the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded for modular controls
PlayStation Direct lists the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded as compatible with PS5 and PS4 and officially licensed by PlayStation. Its listed package includes a wireless transmitter, detachable USB-C cable, six-button fightpad module, interchangeable D-pads and sticks, customization tool, and carrying case. The listing also specifies three customizable Hall-effect modules, four mappable quick-action buttons, and adjustable clutch triggers with five stops.
Consider it if you want to change the controller layout or use its fightpad module. Its modular approach is a different reason to choose it than the Edge’s emphasis on Sony effects, profiles, and replaceable stick modules. Check that a retailer’s regional listing is specifically for the Pro BFG Reloaded, since names and SKUs matter when matching included parts and features.

Where the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro fits
Razer describes the Wolverine V2 Pro as officially licensed by PlayStation, designed for PS5 and PC, and equipped with HyperSpeed Wireless. Those details establish it as a relevant licensed alternative, but the official information available here is not detailed enough to compare its controls, modules, or customization directly against the Nacon, Edge, and Victrix. Treat it as a shortlist candidate and check the current official product specifications for the exact model and region before deciding.
What the NACON Revolution 5 Pro still offers
Nacon describes the Revolution 5 Pro as an asymmetric controller with magnetic Hall-effect sticks and triggers, trigger blockers, and a PC/Mac configuration application. Its product page lists four profiles per platform, three sets of weights, three stick sizes, three sets of stick heads, and 60 customization options. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of precision, durability, or drift resistance.
Best Value
- Aim and move with precision by swapping in fresh stick modules* so you’re always playing with equipment that’s in great shape. Plus, three types of changeable stick caps help you stay comfortable in-game without sacrificing grip or stability.
- Mappable back buttons The DualSense Edge wireless controller’s two swappable sets of back buttons can be configured to any other button input, so you’ve always got game-changing actions and essential controls at your fingertips.
- Adjustable trigger lengths Manually set the travel distance of your left and right triggers for an optimal experience with whatever you’re playing. Fast-paced FPS? Set a shorter travel distance to shoot faster on the field. Competitive racer? Set a longer travel distance for precise throttle control on the track.
- Remappable buttons Remap or even deactivate specific button inputs, so you can create a completely personalized control setup that’s ideal for the game at hand.
- Quick-swap control profiles Once you’ve found your ideal control settings, you can save them to unique profiles and swap between them on-the-fly, so your favourite configurations are always ready when you are.
Nacon presents Hall-effect technology as a way to eliminate stick drift. That is the manufacturer’s claim, not a guarantee that the controller cannot fail or develop a problem. The same caution applies to Hall-effect components listed for other products: the technology specification alone does not establish a zero-failure outcome.
There is also a console-wake caveat: Nacon’s support FAQ says, “You can wake a PlayStation 4 or 5 only with a Sony DualSense controller.” If you rely on waking the console from the controller, account for that limitation in your setup.
Make the choice by the problem you want to solve
- You want native Sony effects with adjustable controls: choose the DualSense Edge for its documented haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, remapping, profiles, and replaceable stick modules.
- You want to reconfigure modules or use a fightpad: consider the Victrix Pro BFG Reloaded and confirm the exact model and included components.
- You want a licensed PS5/PC alternative and will verify details yourself: add the Razer Wolverine V2 Pro to your shortlist, but compare current official specifications before treating it as equivalent on any particular feature.
- You primarily want an asymmetric stick layout and Hall-effect components: the Nacon already offers those traits, so switching only makes sense if another trade-off—especially its PS5 vibration limitation—matters more to you.
For any of these controllers, verify the current regional SKU, supported systems, and included accessories on the manufacturer or platform listing before purchase. No live prices or stock levels are established here.
