The Razer Viper V4 Pro is the strongest direct alternative to Logitech’s G Pro X2 Superstrike for most competitive FPS players. It is about 11–12 grams lighter, offers 8,000 Hz polling in both wireless and wired modes, and uses a 50,000-DPI sensor rated to 930 IPS and 90 G. Its main compromise is battery life at 8,000 Hz and a different optical-click feel.

Choose the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 if you want the closest Logitech shape, HERO 2 tracking and LIGHTSPEED software ecosystem without paying for Superstrike’s adjustable HITS controls. Choose the Razer Viper V3 Pro for a proven, lightweight Viper design, or the MCHOSE L7 Pro+ when price matters more than long-term support certainty.

What is the best Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike alternative?

For a competitive FPS player who wants the highest-end specifications in a lighter shell, the Razer Viper V4 Pro is the clearest substitute. The black version weighs 49 g and the white version 50 g, compared with 61 g for the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike. Razer specifies a 50,000-DPI Focus Pro Gen-3 sensor, 930 IPS tracking and 90 G acceleration, plus an 8,000 Hz report rate over both wireless and wired connections.

The Superstrike remains distinctive because of Logitech’s Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS). HITS lets you tune actuation and reset points for the two main buttons, a feature none of the alternatives in this comparison duplicates. Logitech lists the Superstrike at $179.99 and rates its HERO 2 sensor to 888 IPS, 88 G acceleration, up to 44,000 DPI and 8,000 Hz reporting.

#1 Best Overall
Razer Viper V4 Pro Wireless Esports Gaming Mouse, 49g,180Hr Battery, Black
  • 49G ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT ESPORTS MOUSE — Built with input from competitive pro players, this wireless mouse is 9% lighter than the previous gen and delivers faster, more agile control for PC gaming
  • INDUSTRY LEADING SPEED & RELIABILITY — Powered by Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, it delivers unrivaled speed and reliability plus more power-efficient with true 8000 Hz polling and 55% lower latency
  • OPTICAL SCROLL WHEEL FOR COMPETITIVE ACCURACY — Uses optical actuation instead of mechanical for more consistent tracking, increased durability, and tactile feedback designed for precise in‑game control
  • FOCUS PRO 50K DPI OPTICAL SENSOR GEN-3 — Tracks up to 930 IPS and 90 G acceleration for accurate, high‑speed movement while Frame Sync reduces latency by aligning sensor data with the PC for ultimate precision and responsive in‑game control that competitive players expect
  • LONG BATTERY LIFE — Improved wireless efficiency provides up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz or up to 45 hours at 8000 Hz, letting players choose between extended battery life or ultra‑low latency performance

Those specifications do not make one mouse universally faster. Shape, grip, click feel, battery endurance, software and how your computer handles high polling are equally important. No directly comparable controlled latency test is established for every candidate here, so the polling and sensor figures should be treated as capabilities rather than a promise of a particular in-game response time.

How the alternatives compare at a glance

Mouse Best for Published specifications or evidence Main trade-off
Razer Viper V4 Pro Lowest weight with flagship specifications 49 g black / 50 g white; 50,000 DPI; 930 IPS; 90 G; 8,000 Hz wired and wireless; 180 hours at 1,000 Hz and 45 hours at 8,000 Hz Shorter battery claim at 8,000 Hz; optical-click feel and shape differ from Superstrike
Razer Viper V3 Pro Proven lightweight Viper design 54–55 g; 8,000 Hz HyperPolling No adjustable HITS actuation or reset; older generation than V4 Pro
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 Closest Logitech substitute 60 g; symmetrical right-handed shape; HERO 2 sensor; 8,000 Hz LIGHTSPEED reporting No adjustable HITS system
MCHOSE L7 Pro+ Lower-cost experimentation Independent coverage describes it as a very inexpensive lightweight wireless mouse with a good sensor and extensive software controls Verify firmware, support and manufacturing consistency before treating it as a flagship peer
Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike Adjustable trigger behavior 61 g; HERO 2; up to 44,000 DPI; 888 IPS; 88 G; 8,000 Hz; HITS controls; $179.99 listed by Logitech Heavier and more expensive than several alternatives

Is the Razer Viper V4 Pro better than Superstrike?

It is better for players whose first priority is low weight and whose hand fits the Viper shape. At 49–50 g, the Viper V4 Pro is roughly 11–12 g lighter than the 61 g Superstrike. That difference is noticeable during repeated low-sensitivity swipes, emergency turns and long sessions because less mass has to be accelerated and stopped.

Where the Viper V4 Pro leads

  • Lower mass: 49 g in black and 50 g in white are among the lightest figures in this group.
  • Sensor headroom: the Focus Pro Gen-3 is specified at 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS and 90 G, all above the Superstrike’s published 44,000 DPI, 888 IPS and 88 G.
  • Polling flexibility: Razer specifies up to 8,000 Hz in both wireless and wired modes, so you do not have to remain tethered to reach the maximum report rate.
  • Battery choices: the published claim is 180 hours at 1,000 Hz, allowing a much longer interval between charges if you do not need 8,000 Hz.

Where Superstrike remains different

HITS is the Superstrike’s defining feature. It allows the actuation and reset points of the two primary buttons to be tuned rather than fixed. That can appeal to players who want a short trigger for rapid taps but a different reset behavior for controlled bursts. The Viper V4 Pro uses its own optical-click implementation and will not reproduce that haptic adjustment experience.

Razer’s battery claim falls to 45 hours at 8,000 Hz. That is a substantial reduction from the 180-hour claim at 1,000 Hz, not a flaw in the sensor. High-frequency reporting requires more frequent wireless and host processing, so select the polling rate for your system and routine rather than leaving 8,000 Hz enabled automatically.

Which mouse has the same shape as Superlight 2?

The Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike and the Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 are the closest shape match in this list. Logitech describes them as sharing a symmetrical, right-handed design. The Superlight 2 weighs 60 g, only 1 g below the Superstrike’s listed 61 g, and uses the HERO 2 sensor with 8,000 Hz LIGHTSPEED reporting.

Why choose the SUPERLIGHT 2

  • Familiar shell: players already comfortable with the Superstrike’s centered hump and symmetrical right-handed profile can move with fewer grip adjustments.
  • Comparable core platform: HERO 2 tracking and 8,000 Hz LIGHTSPEED reporting keep the main sensor and wireless capabilities close to the Superstrike.
  • Lower feature complexity: if you do not want to tune actuation and reset points, the simpler button behavior may be easier to configure and maintain.

What you give up

The SUPERLIGHT 2 does not provide HITS. Its primary-button behavior therefore cannot be adjusted through the Superstrike’s haptic actuation and reset system. It is also not the low-weight choice: at 60 g, it is effectively the same class as the 61 g Superstrike, rather than a Viper-style ultralight design.

Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse, 8K Polling Rate, 56g, Black
  • PRO-LEVEL SPEED WITH ULTRA-LIGHT CONTROL — Weighs just 56g with re-engineered ergonomic shape, enabling faster swipes and precise tracking for FPS, esports tournaments, and competitive gaming performance

  • LONG-LASTING BATTERY FOR EXTENDED PLAY — Up to 150 hours at 1000 Hz lets you game longer without interruptions, ideal for long sessions or tournament play

Is the Razer Viper V3 Pro still a good alternative?

Yes, especially if you want the established Viper shape and 8,000 Hz HyperPolling without moving to the newest generation. Razer specifies a 54–55 g weight, placing it between the Viper V4 Pro and the Logitech mice in this comparison. That makes it materially lighter than the Superstrike while retaining the Viper family’s lightweight handling.

When Viper V3 Pro makes sense

  • You already know that the Viper profile suits your claw, fingertip or relaxed claw grip.
  • You want 8,000 Hz HyperPolling but do not need the V4 Pro’s newer sensor figures.
  • You prefer a mature design with extensive competitive use over the lightest published weight.

Its limitations against Superstrike

The Viper V3 Pro does not have adjustable HITS actuation or reset. It is also an earlier generation than the V4 Pro, so buyers choosing between the two Viper models should decide whether the newer model’s 49–50 g weight and 50,000-DPI, 930-IPS, 90-G sensor specification justify the difference in price in their region.

What is the best cheaper Superstrike alternative?

The MCHOSE L7 Pro+ is the budget-oriented option in this group. PC Gamer characterizes it as a very inexpensive lightweight wireless mouse with a good sensor and extensive software controls that can support competitive gaming. That combination makes it attractive when you want low weight and configuration options without stepping directly into the Superstrike’s premium price bracket.

What to verify before buying

Unlike the Logitech and Razer models above, the L7 Pro+ does not have the same established support and specification coverage in this comparison. Check the current firmware, configuration software, warranty terms, regional return process and availability of replacement parts before purchase. Confirm that the receiver, charging cable and any advertised high-polling mode are included in the exact package you are ordering.

Do not treat a low listed weight or a high DPI number as proof that it performs identically to a flagship mouse. Sensor implementation, wireless stability, click consistency and firmware behavior matter in actual play, and long-term quality consistency is the principal uncertainty to account for with a lower-cost choice.

Do you need an 8K polling mouse for Valorant or CS2?

Not necessarily. An 8,000 Hz mouse reports movement eight times as often as a 1,000 Hz setting, reducing the theoretical interval between reports. The practical benefit depends on frame rate, display refresh, game engine behavior, USB and wireless conditions, and whether your processor has enough headroom for the additional work.

Use 1,000 Hz when

  • You want the longest battery life, such as the Viper V4 Pro’s published 180-hour claim at 1,000 Hz.
  • Your game is already CPU-limited or your frame-time graph worsens at higher polling.
  • You cannot perceive a smoother cursor or more consistent micro-adjustments at 4,000 or 8,000 Hz.

Try 8,000 Hz when

  • Your PC maintains a high, stable frame rate with spare CPU capacity.
  • Your monitor has a high refresh rate and you value the smoothest possible cursor updates.
  • You accept more frequent charging, such as the Viper V4 Pro’s published 45-hour claim at 8,000 Hz.

How to test without guessing

  1. Update the mouse firmware and its receiver, then connect the receiver directly to the PC rather than through an unpowered hub.
  2. Record a repeatable practice routine in Valorant, CS2 or your preferred FPS at 1,000 Hz.
  3. Repeat it at 2,000, 4,000 and 8,000 Hz if those modes are available.
  4. Watch frame-time consistency and CPU usage while checking for cursor stutter, wireless dropouts or unexplained battery drain.
  5. Keep the highest setting that gives a stable frame-time pattern and a controllable feel. If there is no observable improvement, 1,000 Hz is the sensible endurance setting.

Polling rate is separate from sensor resolution. Raising DPI does not automatically improve aim, and lowering DPI does not make a sensor less accurate within its tracking limits. Set DPI and in-game sensitivity for controllable movement, then choose polling based on system behavior and battery priorities.

How shape, weight and balance affect competitive aim

Weight numbers are useful only when interpreted with shape and balance. A 49 g Viper V4 Pro may feel less agile than a heavier mouse if its profile does not support your grip. Conversely, the 60–61 g Logitech designs may feel more stable for a player who anchors the palm and makes small corrections with the fingers.

Match the shell to your grip

  • Claw grip: a pronounced rear hump can support the palm while leaving the fingertips free for rapid corrections. The Logitech symmetrical profile is the safer starting point if you already like that shape.
  • Fingertip grip: lower weight generally helps frequent direction changes, but side-button placement and shell width become critical because little of the palm stabilizes the mouse.
  • Relaxed claw or palm: prioritize contact area and hump position over the lowest specification. A shape that prevents wrist tension is more valuable than a few grams on paper.

Balance matters as much as total mass. A front-heavy mouse can feel slower during stops even when its listed weight is low. If you can try a display unit or buy from a retailer with a clear return policy, test lift-off, stopping and repeated 180-degree turns rather than judging only by a specification sheet.

Click technology: HITS versus optical and conventional implementations

The Superstrike’s HITS system is not simply a marketing name for a lower click-latency number. Its practical distinction is adjustable actuation and reset behavior on the two main buttons. That gives you a tuning control unavailable on the Viper V4 Pro, Viper V3 Pro and SUPERLIGHT 2.

Why adjustable actuation can help

  • A shorter actuation point can reduce the physical travel needed for repeated taps.
  • A tailored reset point can make rapid follow-up shots feel more predictable.
  • Different settings can accommodate a light fingertip touch or a firmer palm-supported click.

Why a fixed or optical click can be preferable

  • There are fewer settings to maintain after firmware updates or a computer change.
  • The click behavior remains consistent for players who do not want to tune a trigger.
  • Optical designs can avoid some electrical debounce behavior, although the real in-game result depends on the complete switch, firmware and software implementation.

Because no controlled, directly comparable latency measurement is provided for every candidate, choose by click feel and reliability rather than assuming that HITS or an optical switch guarantees a specific millisecond advantage.

Software, wireless setup and troubleshooting

Configure the mouse before changing sensitivity

  1. Install the current official configuration software for your chosen mouse.
  2. Update the mouse and receiver firmware while the mouse is connected by cable.
  3. Set a single DPI stage, disable unused automatic profiles and assign side buttons before entering a match.
  4. Select a polling rate, then test frame times and battery behavior in the games you actually play.
  5. Save the profile to onboard memory when available so the settings follow the mouse to another PC.

If 8,000 Hz causes stutter

  • Drop to 4,000 or 2,000 Hz and compare frame-time graphs rather than relying on average FPS alone.
  • Move the receiver closer to the mouse and away from Wi-Fi routers, USB 3 hubs and other radio sources.
  • Use a direct motherboard USB port and avoid a loose or underpowered hub.
  • Check that the game, operating system and graphics drivers are current.

If clicks feel inconsistent

  • Confirm that actuation and reset settings are not changing between profiles.
  • Test wired mode to separate switch behavior from wireless interference.
  • Clean the shell and inspect for debris around the button seam without opening the mouse if that would void the warranty.
  • Record the problem and use the seller or manufacturer warranty process; do not assume a firmware reset will fix a mechanical defect.

Which Superstrike alternative should you buy?

Before ordering, confirm regional price, stock, warranty coverage and return terms. The Superstrike’s listed $179.99 price is Logitech’s product-page figure; prices for the alternatives vary by country and promotion. A high polling mode is also not a reason by itself to replace a mouse that already fits your hand and performs reliably.
