For a replacement with native Google access, investigate a Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy, then confirm that the specific regional variant is Play Protect certified.
Is there an official Huawei Mate 90?
The official sources cited here do not identify a Huawei phone called “Mate 90,” so its specifications, launch status and Google-app compatibility cannot be confirmed from them. Huawei’s support guidance instead addresses the Mate 30 series and later models. It says those phones do not come preinstalled with GMS or Google apps because of Google authorization, and suggests trying web versions of Google apps. A web version may not provide the same features or app integrations as a native app.

How to check whether a phone supports Google apps
Do not rely on a brand name or an online listing that merely says “Android.” Google says the Play Store, Play Protect and core Google apps—including Gmail, YouTube and Maps—are available only on Play Protect-certified devices. Google says certification means a device has been tested for security and compatibility.

Before buying, check the exact model and regional variant in Google’s Certified Android devices guidance or the Google Play supported devices list. Google notes that a device absent from the list may be newly released or may not work with Google Play. Certification should be confirmed for the specific model, not assumed for every phone sold under the same brand.

After checking certification, compare the phones sold in your country and the exact model numbers your carrier supports. Then weigh your budget, preferred Android interface, size, camera needs, battery expectations, storage and the manufacturer’s software-support commitments using current local product information. Availability, pricing and network compatibility can vary by market and variant, so a recommendation that works in one country may not fit another.

What Google services on a Huawei phone may mean
Huawei’s suggestion to use web versions offers a possible way to access some Google services, but it is not a promise that every service, payment app or notification-dependent feature will work as it does on a certified Android phone. If your decision depends on a particular app—such as a payment app—check its current requirements and test the exact device and regional software before relying on it.
