There is no confirmed all-in-one replacement for Samsung Sound Assistant in the available evidence. Choose a Galaxy setting based on the task: Separate app sound routes a selected app to another output, Sound quality and effects changes tone and listening effects, and Dual audio sends the same media to two Bluetooth devices on supported models. For per-app volume, finer volume steps, simultaneous sound from apps, or a customizable volume panel, Samsung’s Sound Assistant remains the closest documented match; check its current Galaxy Store listing for your device and region.
Which alternative fits the audio control you need?
| What you want to do | Galaxy option | What it does—and does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Route one app to a different output | Separate app sound | Sends a selected app to an audio device different from the phone’s main output. It is not an app-by-app volume mixer. |
| Adjust sound character or listening effects | Sound quality and effects | Provides controls such as equalizer and Dolby Atmos. Samsung does not describe it as a per-app volume control. |
| Play the same media on two Bluetooth devices | Dual audio, on supported models | Plays the same media through two Bluetooth devices; this is different from allowing multiple apps to make sound at once. |
| Adjust individual app volume, use finer volume steps, or customize the volume panel | Sound Assistant | Samsung’s listing documents these controls. Verify current availability and compatibility for your phone. |
Use Separate app sound to route an app
Separate app sound is the built-in choice when you want one app’s media to come from an output different from the phone’s main audio output—for example, navigation through the phone while music plays through a car’s Bluetooth system. The selected output must differ from the main output, and Bluetooth choices appear when a device is connected, according to Samsung’s Hong Kong support instructions.

- Turn the feature on, then tap Select.
- Choose the app whose audio you want to route.
- Choose the audio device for that app.
Samsung notes that menu names and availability can vary. Its cited instructions apply to Hong Kong products, so use the path as a guide rather than assuming every Galaxy has identical labels.
Use Sound quality and effects to shape audio
Open Settings → Sounds and vibration → Sound quality and effects to find Samsung’s documented listening controls. Depending on the phone, these include Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos for gaming, equalizer, UHQ upscaler for wired earphones, and Adapt sound. These adjust sound or personalize listening; they do not replace Sound Assistant’s documented individual app volume controls.

Use Dual audio for two Bluetooth devices
On supported Galaxy models, Dual audio can play the same media on two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. It is useful when the goal is shared playback, not when you want separate apps routed independently or multiple apps to make sound at the same time. Samsung’s Dual audio support page describes the feature, but availability depends on model and software.
When Sound Assistant is still the closer match
Samsung describes Sound Assistant as an “Advanced sound utility for your Galaxy.” Its Galaxy Store listing documents individual application volume control, a floating equalizer, mono audio and left/right balance, app audio output switching between Bluetooth and the phone speaker, saved EQ settings, and volume-panel customization. It also specifies 150-step fine volume adjustment; that number is Samsung’s product specification, not an independent test result. See the Samsung Galaxy Store listing for current details.

How to judge other replacement claims
Do not treat any one of the built-in options as a full Sound Assistant substitute: routing, tone adjustment, and dual-device playback solve different problems. A third-party guide discusses Android controls that can reproduce some routing and channel functions, but the available evidence does not establish a named third-party app as a universal replacement for Sound Assistant’s per-app volume, finer steps, simultaneous-app playback, or volume-panel customization.

Samsung’s Separate app sound and Dual audio support information cautions, in effect, against assuming every model and software version has the same features. The Hong Kong support pages are region-specific; check local instructions if your menus differ.
