Samsung Galaxy is the closest broad replacement for OPPO’s AI phone workflow. Galaxy combines Gemini with One UI features for cross-app actions, call translation, writing, notes, web pages, screen selection and photo editing. Google Pixel is the better fit for a Google-first experience built around Gemini, screen context, Pixel Screenshots, Magic Editor and Pixel Studio. Neither platform is a one-for-one match for every OPPO feature, so the right choice depends on calls and languages, note and transcript work, creative editing, privacy controls and the exact model and country.
OPPO’s recent AI phone strategy combines assistant actions with communication and productivity tools. Its announced features include AI Call Translator, AI VoiceScribe, AI Search, AI Call Summary and Private Computing Cloud integration. Later Find X9 and ColorOS 16 announcements add AI Mind Space, AI Recorder and AI Writer, with AI Mind Space connected to Gemini. The practical question for a buyer is which Samsung or Google phone can reproduce the parts of that workflow they actually use.

Understanding the source feature set prevents a misleading comparison. OPPO is not describing one single assistant; it is describing several tools integrated into ColorOS and its phone apps.

OPPO said it was targeting around 100 million users for generative-AI features by the end of 2025, twice its 2024 target of 50 million. That is an adoption target, not an independent measurement of quality or usage. OPPO also stated that it would deliver an average of one new AI update per month. These statements describe OPPO’s product plans; they do not establish that another brand’s tools perform better or worse.

Samsung Galaxy: the closest all-round substitute
A current Galaxy S25-series phone is the most complete replacement when you want one handset to cover assistant commands, calls, writing, notes, browsing and images. Samsung layers Gemini into One UI rather than relying on a standalone chatbot.
Gemini and cross-app actions
One UI 7 lets you invoke Gemini and ask it to perform tasks across apps. Samsung’s documented example combines finding nearby restaurants with sending a result to a contact. Google also documents Gemini extensions for Samsung Reminder, Calendar, Notes and Clock on Galaxy S25 phones. This is the closest match to OPPO’s idea of an assistant that can search and then act, rather than merely answer a question.
Cross-app behavior depends on signed-in accounts, supported apps and permissions. Before relying on it for a reminder, message or calendar entry, confirm that Gemini can access the relevant Samsung or Google service on your model. A command that works in a demonstration may produce a web answer, ask for confirmation or fail when an app, language or account is unsupported.

Live Translate for calls
Samsung documents real-time call translation in the Samsung Phone app. You select the languages before or during a supported call, and the phone translates each side of the conversation. This is the clearest Samsung answer to OPPO AI Call Translator.
Do not treat the feature as language-independent. Samsung states that language selection and device support matter, and availability varies by model and region. Check the supported-language list for the phone sold in your country, then test the specific combinations you need. Translation can also introduce pauses or errors, so confirm names, addresses, numbers and appointments rather than accepting a critical detail without checking.

Writing Assist
Samsung Keyboard’s Writing Assist can translate chats, change tone and format, and check spelling and grammar. It is useful when OPPO’s AI Writer-style assistance is your priority: draft a message, adjust it for a professional or casual tone, translate it and review the result before sending.
Writing assistance is not the same as an autonomous editor. The output can change meaning, especially with names, technical terms or slang. Keep the original wording visible when the message is important, and avoid pasting confidential material into a feature whose processing terms you have not reviewed.

Samsung describes Note Assist for automatic formatting, summaries and translations. Browsing Assist can summarize or translate a web page. Samsung also names Transcript Assist among its AI workflows. Together these tools cover much of the meeting, class and reading workflow that OPPO assigns to VoiceScribe and AI Recorder.
The workflow is deliberately modular: record or capture information, generate a transcript or summary, then format it in Notes. That can be more flexible than a single branded feature, but it also means you must verify where the audio, transcript and summary are stored. A summary is not a legal or medical record; listen to the source recording when an omission would matter.
Circle to Search and AI Select
Circle to Search lets you search text, images or objects without leaving the current app. Samsung documents AI summaries and action chips for detected phone numbers, email addresses and URLs. AI Select extends the idea by letting you select a region of the screen and choose an action.

These tools are useful substitutes for OPPO AI Search when the information you want is visible on screen. They are not a universal database of everything on the phone: results depend on what the system can recognize, the network connection and the search service. Review an extracted address or number before using it.
Photo Assist and Drawing Assist
Samsung’s Photo Assist can remove or reposition objects and generate or restyle images. Drawing Assist turns a rough sketch or selected content into a more finished image. These are the closest Galaxy equivalents to AI image creation and editing in a modern ColorOS workflow.
Generated or edited images can look convincing while still containing mistakes in text, hands, logos or fine details. Keep the original photo, check the edit at full resolution and disclose substantial alterations when context requires it.
Google Pixel: the strongest Google-first alternative
Pixel is the better choice if your priority is Gemini itself, Google services and direct screen understanding rather than Samsung’s collection of One UI utilities. Google says Gemini on Pixel can answer questions about what is on screen, summarize a webpage, inspect an image and perform voice actions such as sending a message or controlling connected devices.
Gemini screen context and voice actions
On a compatible Pixel, you can ask Gemini about the page or image currently open instead of describing it manually. Voice actions can connect to Google services and supported smart-home devices. This resembles OPPO’s assistant-plus-search approach, but the surrounding ecosystem is Google’s rather than ColorOS’s.

Expect account and permission prompts for actions that affect messages, devices or personal data. Ask Gemini to show what it plans to do when a command has consequences, and check the recipient, device or text before confirming.
AI Overviews and Circle to Search
Google lists AI Overviews as a Pixel search feature, while Circle to Search is a shared Android capability rather than a Pixel-exclusive advantage. Both can help identify an object, explain text or summarize a result without switching apps. Availability and behavior can change by country, language, account and rollout stage.
Pixel Screenshots
Pixel Screenshots is designed to make saved screenshots searchable and useful later. It can help you recover information from a captured booking, product page or conversation without maintaining the kind of single AI workspace OPPO describes as AI Mind Space. It is a different workflow: you deliberately save visual information, then search or ask about it later.
Magic Editor and Pixel Studio
Magic Editor handles generative photo changes such as moving or removing subjects, while Pixel Studio is Google’s listed Pixel tool for creating images. These are strong Pixel-specific alternatives to Galaxy Photo Assist and Drawing Assist. The choice is mostly about editing style and ecosystem preference, not a documented quality ranking.

Where Pixel is not a documented one-to-one replacement
The cited Pixel help material does not document a direct equivalent for OPPO AI Call Translator, AI VoiceScribe or AI Mind Space. That does not prove a Pixel can never perform a similar task through an app or future update; it means you should not buy a Pixel assuming native parity. Verify the exact phone, country, language and current software before treating a third-party or beta workflow as a replacement.

Which phone is better for calls, notes and languages?
Choose Galaxy when call translation is central. Samsung is the only alternative in this comparison with a clearly documented real-time translation feature inside its phone app. Confirm language pairs, carrier behavior and regional availability before purchase.
Choose Galaxy when your work starts with recordings, transcripts or structured notes. Note Assist, Browsing Assist, Writing Assist and Transcript Assist are named Samsung workflows, so the path from source material to a formatted note is explicit.
Choose Pixel when the work starts with a Google search, a webpage, an image or a voice command. Gemini’s ability to inspect the current screen and connect to Google services is the core advantage. For OPPO-style call summaries or a persistent AI workspace, Pixel requires more verification and possibly a different app-based process.
Privacy, accounts and possible fees
AI features process sensitive material: calls, messages, notes, screenshots, photos and location searches. Samsung documents on-device processing controls for some Galaxy AI functions. It also says basic Galaxy AI features are free, while enhanced Samsung AI and third-party AI features may have different terms or fees. Those terms can vary by model, country, account and date.
Google’s Gemini features likewise depend on a Google account, supported services and the permissions you grant. Read the current consent and data-processing screens instead of assuming that every request stays on the phone. OPPO says Find X9 and Find X9 Pro buyers receive a complimentary three-month Google AI Pro subscription under stated terms. That offer belongs to the OPPO devices and its eligibility rules; it should not be treated as a permanent benefit of Galaxy or Pixel.
