Best Alternatives to NOBULL Training Shoes for Gym Workouts

If you want an alternative to NOBULL for gym workouts, compare the Reebok Nano X5 for mixed training, Nike Metcon 10 for a firm lifting platform, R.A.D. One V2 for broad cross-training, TYR CXT-2 for structured support and width choice, or Nike Free Metcon 6 for more flexible general sessions. None is best for every workout: stability for lifting, comfort in fast circuits, fit, and how much you run all matter.

How to choose a NOBULL alternative

Cross-training shoes balance competing needs. A firmer, more stable platform can feel reassuring under weights, while a flexible, comfortable forefoot can work better for jumps and fast circuits. Fit and width matter just as much as a shoe’s reputation.

  • Lifting: Look for a stable heel and a firm-feeling platform.
  • Circuits and jumps: Consider forefoot flexibility and cushioning for dynamic movement.
  • Lateral drills or rope work: Compare outsole grip and the shoe’s structure.
  • Running: Be realistic about distance. Gym trainers may handle short runs or conditioning, but the reviewed models are not presented as dedicated distance-running shoes.
  • Fit: Review width and sizing options, and check the retailer’s return policy. A reviewer’s fit experience may not match yours.

Tom’s Guide’s roundup, last updated August 20, 2026, names the R.A.D. One V2 its overall cross-training pick, the Nike Metcon 10 its choice for readers who prefer Metcons, and the Reebok Nano X5 its lifting-focused choice. Those are that publication’s editorial judgments, not a universal ranking. Its reviewers describe testing across activities and surfaces over months to years; the performance assessments below are attributed to the publications that made them. Compare the alternatives

Model Best fit for What reviews say Watch for
Reebok Nano X5 Mixed workouts and lifting Tom’s Guide describes it as a spacious all-rounder for lifting and HIIT. Not intended for longer-distance running; Tom’s Guide says it is better suited to weightlifting than some alternatives.
Nike Metcon 10 Metcon fans and strength work Tom’s Guide identifies it as the best-in-class Metcon in its testing; the line emphasizes a firm, stable lifting platform. The firm training-shoe feel may be less appealing if your sessions include longer runs.
R.A.D. One V2 Broad cross-training Tom’s Guide’s overall pick, described as suitable for lifting, plyometrics, gymnastics, CrossFit, and short runs. The reviewer reports a snug fit, no width options, and possible difficulty for wide feet.
TYR CXT-2 Trainer Structured support and width choice Comparative coverage describes a stable, structured feel and reports medium, wide, and extra-wide options. Those fit details come from an independent review; verify the exact model’s current sizing and width choices.
Nike Free Metcon 6 Flexible general gym sessions Men’s Fitness highlights its flexible forefoot and solid heel base for high-rep strength work, plyometrics, and cardio drills. That guide cautions it is not built for heavy lifting.

Which shoe fits your workouts?

Reebok Nano X5: lifting plus mixed training

The Nano X5 is a reasonable starting point if you alternate strength training, HIIT, and dynamic exercises. Tom’s Guide calls it a spacious “little bit of everything” shoe and says it is still more suited to weightlifting than other brands. The publication advises against runs over roughly 1–2 km; that is its assessment, not a manufacturer guarantee. See Tom’s Guide’s Nano X5 assessment.

Nike Metcon 10: a stable feel for strength work

Choose the Metcon 10 if you prefer Nike’s Metcon line and prioritize a firm, stable platform for lifting. Tom’s Guide names it the best-in-class Metcon among the models it tested. If your workout includes longer runs, consider whether that firmer training-shoe feel suits you better than a more running-oriented option. See Tom’s Guide’s Metcon 10 assessment.

R.A.D. One V2: varied cross-training, with a fit caveat

The R.A.D. One V2 is a candidate for workouts that mix lifting, plyometrics, gymnastics, and short runs. Tom’s Guide selected it as its overall cross-training pick, but its reviewer found the fit snug and noted that there are no width options; people with wide feet may want to try it on before committing. R.A.D. describes it this way: “This shoe is tuned for performance.” That is the brand’s statement, not an independent review finding. Read the review’s R.A.D. One V2 assessment.

TYR CXT-2 Trainer: structured support and reported width options

Consider the CXT-2 if you want a more built-out, structured platform or need a wider fit. Comparative coverage reports medium, wide, and extra-wide options, but that information comes from an independent review and may not reflect current availability. Check the exact model’s product listing and sizing before buying. CrossFit Norwich Gear Room says its comparison draws on published specifications and other editorial reviews, rather than private lab testing or first-hand ownership. Account for running distance

Short runs or conditioning intervals can fit into cross-training sessions, but these shoes are gym trainers, not established distance-running choices in the reviews cited here. Tom’s Guide gives the Nano X5 a roughly 1–2 km running caveat, while its broader guidance describes the R.A.D. One V2 as suitable for short runs. If running is a substantial part of your routine, weigh that use separately rather than choosing on lifting stability alone.
