Best Alternatives to Coinbase-Powered Stablecoin Cards for Businesses (2026 Guide)

The best alternative depends on how much infrastructure you want to operate. Nium is the strongest API-first and white-label option, issuing Visa and Mastercard cards through one integration. Oobit and Wirex are closer to ready-made cards linked to a company treasury. Infini prioritizes employee controls and reconciliation, while Lead is aimed at businesses that want program infrastructure and on-chain settlement. Corpay/Circle and OSL are enterprise or planned routes rather than straightforward, universally available products.

A stablecoin card usually checks or reserves an on-chain balance, converts the required amount to fiat for the card transaction, and sends the merchant ordinary card-network settlement. The exception is a model such as Lead’s, which says it can settle with card networks in stablecoins. In every case, availability, licensing, custody, supported assets, fees, and compliance obligations depend on the provider, issuer, and your jurisdiction.

What you are actually comparing

“Stablecoin business card” can describe three different products. Confusing them is the fastest way to choose the wrong provider.

Ready-made treasury cards

A ready-made card gives your business an account, a funding balance, and physical or virtual cards with limited technical work. The provider normally holds or controls the stablecoin balance, performs conversion when a card is used, and supplies the administrative interface. This is the shortest route for employee spending, travel, subscriptions, and selected vendor payments, but it gives you less control over the ledger, processor, and settlement design.

API and white-label issuing

An API issuer supplies the card-program infrastructure while your product or finance system owns the user experience. You can create cards, apply limits, connect treasury or wallet logic, and present the program under your own brand. This approach is more suitable for a platform paying contractors, a marketplace issuing cards to customers, or a multinational that needs one integration across several products. It also makes you responsible for more implementation, compliance coordination, support, and reconciliation work.

Program and settlement infrastructure

An infrastructure provider may supply a dedicated bank identification number (BIN), processor choices, card-network connections, and a settlement model without offering a complete employee-expense application. This can support a custom program, but you must validate the legal entity, card issuer, supported stablecoins, geography, and operational responsibilities before treating it as a live product.

At-a-glance comparison

Provider Operating model Network or acceptance Funding and settlement Controls and finance features Status and important qualification
Nium API and white-label issuing Visa and Mastercard through one API; broad merchant acceptance claimed Stablecoin-to-fiat conversion at point of sale Physical and virtual cards; corporate expenses, travel, vendor payments, SaaS and platform payouts Announced March 30, 2026; jurisdiction restrictions apply and Hong Kong is currently unavailable
Oobit Ready-made treasury-linked business card Visa acceptance, including online, in-store, Apple Pay and Google Pay Payment settles against the stablecoin balance in the Oobit account Vendor, contractor and team payments; SEPA, ACH and PIX rails described Regional availability and licensed-partner structure require verification
Wirex Business Business account, card and treasury bundle Corporate and payroll cards; 80M+ merchants claimed Stablecoin account with optional yield; card spending converts through the provider’s system Unified balances, corporate and payroll cards, on-chain yield Scale, yield, custody and country coverage are company claims requiring current diligence
Infini Stablecoin-funded corporate cards Network not stated in the available product information Stablecoin-funded spending account Member-level limits, real-time tracking, automated reconciliation and AI checks for duplicate subscriptions or wasted software spend No comparable public fee schedule stated
Lead Program infrastructure Visa or Mastercard; dedicated BIN and processor-choice features described Limits derived from a USD stablecoin balance; stablecoin network settlement claimed seven days a week Custom program architecture rather than a standard expense bundle Confirm legal entity, assets, geography and production availability
Corpay/Circle Enterprise route and roadmap Commercial fleet, purchasing and travel cards described as work in progress USDC wallets and 24/7 settlement announced; automatic fiat settlement for planned cards Enterprise card use cases August 6, 2025 announcement describes work underway, not a universally launched product
OSL Business Cards Planned, jurisdiction-dependent proposition Potential virtual, physical, single-use and bulk-issued cards Final funding model not yet fixed in the published description User limits, merchant and category controls, geographic rules, approvals and role-based administration proposed Issuer, program, jurisdiction and legal entity determine final scope

Nium: the strongest API-first alternative

Nium is the clearest fit when a business wants to embed stablecoin spending into its own product rather than hand employees a separate finance app. In its March 30, 2026 announcement, Nium said a business holding stablecoins can issue cards on both Visa and Mastercard through a single API. It described stablecoin-to-fiat conversion at the point of sale and acceptance at hundreds of millions of merchant locations.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The single integration matters for companies that otherwise would have to maintain separate Visa and Mastercard implementations. Nium says the same platform can support physical and virtual cards for vendor payments, corporate expenses, employee travel, SaaS subscriptions and platform payouts. Those use cases cover both internal spending and external disbursement, so a marketplace or payroll platform could evaluate the same infrastructure for contractors as well as employees.

Nium’s product information says its platform powered 41M+ card tokens in the last year. That is a company-reported figure, not an independent measurement of stablecoin-card usage. Nium also cites an estimated $200 billion in stablecoins in circulation as market context; it is not a measurement of Nium’s balances or volume.

Where Nium fits

  • Choose it when you need an API, white-label experience, or a program embedded in an existing platform.
  • Use the Visa-and-Mastercard option to avoid committing your entire program to one network at the outset.
  • Evaluate it for virtual cards, controlled physical cards, vendor payments, travel and recurring SaaS spend.

What to verify before signing

Nium states that programs are subject to jurisdictional restrictions and are currently unavailable in Hong Kong. Ask which issuing entity serves your company, where customer funds or stablecoins are held, which assets and chains are supported, who performs KYC/KYB and sanctions screening, and how chargebacks and disputes are handled. Confirm whether the API includes the ledger, webhooks, accounting exports, card controls and settlement reports your finance team needs; “one API” does not by itself guarantee those functions.

Oobit: a treasury-linked operating card

Oobit positions its Business cards as being issued against a company’s stablecoin treasury. When a payment is made, Oobit says the transaction is settled using the stablecoin balance held in the Oobit account. That makes the product closer to a ready-to-use treasury card than to an issuer API: the account and spending environment are supplied by Oobit, and your team spends from the balance you maintain there.

The company says its cards work anywhere Visa is accepted, online and in stores, and can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay. It also describes payments to vendors, contractors and teams through local rails including SEPA, ACH and PIX. Those rails can be useful when a recipient cannot or should not accept a card, but confirm which countries, currencies, entity types and payout corridors are actually available to your business.

TANGEM Crypto Wallet Pack of 3 – Trusted Cold Storage Hardware Wallet | 100% offline; Bitcoin, Ethereum, NFTs & altcoins; No seed phrase; NFC; Pack of 3, Self custody wallet
  • Seedless by design, nothing to steal: Your private key is generated inside the EAL6+ chip and never leaves it. No seed phrase is shown or typed at setup, so a tampered device, keylogger, or phishing site has nothing to capture. 9+ years, millions of cards, no known remote hacks.
  • Tap once to manage your entire crypto wallet across 90 blockchains - no USB cables or Bluetooth, no batteries, no setup. Access 16,100+ coins & tokens, DeFi, NFTs, and staking instantly from your phone
  • Backup without a seed phrase: Your wallet is copied to 2 backup cards with end-to-end encryption, so there are no words on paper to lose or leak. Keep them in separate places; if one card is lost, the others restore full access. Optional seed phrase for advanced users.

  • Trusted by 6 million users worldwide (4.9 App Store, 4.8 Google Play) - buy, sell, swap, stake, and spend cryptocurrency directly. The secure offline storage wallet designed for how people actually use crypto wallets

Best use cases

  • A company that already holds stablecoins and wants employees to spend from one treasury account.
  • Teams that need both card purchases and non-card payouts to vendors or contractors.
  • Businesses that prefer a provider-managed account over building wallet verification and card issuing themselves.

Questions that determine suitability

Ask whether the stablecoins remain in your own wallet or are held in an Oobit account, whether balances are segregated, and what happens if an account is frozen or a transaction is disputed. Confirm the exact Visa issuer, supported stablecoins, conversion rate and spread, local-rail fees, daily limits, approval features, and the countries in which your legal entity can enroll. Oobit’s regional availability and licensed-partner arrangements need to be checked rather than assumed from Visa’s global acceptance.

Wirex Business: an account, card and treasury bundle

Wirex Business combines a business account, corporate and payroll cards, and an optional on-chain yield feature. Its model is attractive when a finance team wants one balance for treasury and spending instead of a separate stablecoin wallet, card issuer and yield account.

Wirex claims that corporate and payroll cards can spend stablecoins at 80M+ merchants. It also advertises up to 6% APY on idle balances, and reports 7M+ customers, $20B+ in processed transactions and availability in 130+ countries. These are company claims. The APY may depend on asset, term, product, and jurisdiction; the customer and transaction figures do not establish that every country or business receives the same service.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When the bundle is useful

Wirex can be considered when payroll or corporate cards, a business balance, and treasury management need to sit together. A unified balance may reduce transfers between systems and simplify funding, but it can also concentrate custody, conversion and operational risk with one counterparty.

Diligence for yield and custody

Do not treat an advertised APY as cash-equivalent interest. Request the legal terms for the yield product, the assets and counterparties involved, whether the rate is variable, and what withdrawal or liquidity limits apply. Separately verify country coverage, the issuing entity, business onboarding requirements, card limits, FX pricing, accounting exports, and the treatment of failed or reversed card transactions.

Infini: controls and reconciliation first

Infini describes corporate cards funded by stablecoins with custom limits for each member, real-time spend tracking and automated reconciliation. It also says its AI monitors transactions for duplicate subscriptions and wasted software spend. This emphasis makes Infini relevant to a finance department whose main problem is controlling employee spend and closing the books, not building a large banking or payout bundle.

What to test in a pilot

  • Create different limits for executives, employees, contractors and temporary project teams.
  • Check whether a limit can be set by card, user, merchant category, time period and currency.
  • Run a real month of SaaS subscriptions and test duplicate detection, receipt collection and export into your accounting system.
  • Reconcile authorizations, completions, reversals, refunds and chargebacks rather than only completed purchases.

The available product information does not provide a comparable public fee schedule. Obtain a written schedule for card issuance, virtual cards, FX, stablecoin conversion, transfers, chargebacks, account administration and off-ramp or payout services before comparing Infini with a bundled account provider.

Lead: infrastructure for on-chain settlement

Lead targets businesses that need card-program infrastructure rather than a standard employee-expense application. It says card limits can be derived from a USD stablecoin balance and that it can issue on Visa or Mastercard. Its distinctive claim is settlement with card networks in stablecoins seven days a week, avoiding the USD conversion step and the associated conversion cost.

If that settlement design is available for your program, it could reduce dependence on banking-hours fiat conversion and make a 24/7 treasury more practical. Lead also describes dedicated BIN and processor-choice features, which may matter to a regulated fintech or a platform that needs control over processing relationships.

Why the model requires more diligence

Infrastructure language does not tell you who is the regulated issuer, who owns customer support, or which party bears sanctions, fraud and chargeback obligations. Confirm the legal entity, supported stablecoins and chains, network region, processor, BIN ownership, reserve methodology, settlement finality, reconciliation files and production status. Treat seven-day settlement as a product claim to validate contractually, not as a guarantee that every card transaction settles instantly or without exceptions.

Corpay/Circle and OSL: enterprise and planned routes

Corpay and Circle

In an August 6, 2025 announcement, Corpay and Circle said Corpay would integrate USDC wallets and enable 24/7 settlement while working toward commercial cards for fleet, purchasing and travel. The planned cards were described as drawing directly from USDC balances and settling automatically in fiat.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is a potentially important enterprise direction for companies with large fleet or purchasing programs, but the announcement describes work underway. Do not replace a live card program on the assumption that the commercial cards are generally available. Ask for a current launch status, eligible countries, issuing entity, supported USDC wallets, implementation timetable and contractual service levels.

OSL Business Cards

OSL describes Business Cards as a planned proposition connecting approved business balances with controlled card payments. Its published concept includes virtual, physical, single-use and bulk-issued cards, with user limits, merchant and category restrictions, geographic rules, approval workflows and role-based administration.

OSL explicitly states that the final funding model, fees, availability, card types and service scope depend on the issuer, program, jurisdiction and legal entity. That makes OSL a design to monitor or discuss in enterprise procurement, not a product whose features should be assumed from a feature list.

Implementation paths

For a ready-made card program

  1. Define the treasury source. Decide which stablecoins fund the program, whether balances remain with your custodian or move into the provider account, and how much liquidity must remain outside the card system.
  2. Map users and spending. Separate employees, contractors, vendors and temporary users. Set limits, approval levels, merchant-category rules, geographic restrictions and card-expiry procedures before issuing cards.
  3. Verify conversion and settlement. Request examples showing authorization, stablecoin debit or reserve, fiat conversion, completion, refund, reversal and chargeback entries.
  4. Connect finance systems. Confirm receipt capture, accounting exports, API access, webhooks, cost-center fields and reconciliation timing.
  5. Pilot before payroll or travel. Start with a small group and low limits. Test online, in-store, recurring, cross-border, declined and refunded transactions.

For an API or white-label program

  1. Obtain the program architecture. Identify the issuer, BIN sponsor, processor, custodian, settlement bank and each party’s regulated role.
  2. Design the ledger. Decide whether your system or the provider’s system is the source of truth for balances, holds, spend limits, FX and user status.
  3. Implement controls before cards. Add KYC/KYB status checks, sanctions decisions, velocity limits, merchant rules, approval workflows, webhook retries and an emergency freeze path.
  4. Reconcile network events. Store authorization, clearing, settlement, refund and dispute identifiers so every card event can be tied to a treasury movement and accounting entry.
  5. Test failure modes. Simulate an insufficient balance, chain congestion, stale price, provider outage, lost card, duplicate webhook, chargeback and account freeze.
  6. Launch in a permitted corridor. Confirm that your entity, users, cardholders and merchants are all within the provider’s current geographic and regulatory scope.

Due-diligence checklist

Obtain written answers rather than relying on a sales page. At minimum, ask for:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Legal and licensing: issuing entity, licenses or regulated-partner arrangement, governing law, permitted customer types and countries.
  • Custody and insolvency: who holds stablecoins and fiat, whether assets are segregated, how redemption works, and what happens if the provider or partner fails.
  • Compliance: responsibility for KYC, KYB, beneficial-owner checks, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, travel-rule obligations where relevant, and suspicious-activity reporting.
  • Assets and chains: supported stablecoins, networks, confirmation requirements, depeg or freeze handling, and whether the provider can change supported assets without notice.
  • Pricing: card issuance and replacement, monthly account fees, FX spread, stablecoin conversion, network or gas charges, local-rail payouts, ATM use, chargebacks and off-ramp fees.
  • Limits: per-card, per-user, daily, monthly and merchant-category limits; approval rules; velocity controls; and how limits behave during offline or delayed authorizations.
  • Card operations: physical and virtual availability, tokenization, Apple Pay or Google Pay support, lost-card replacement, dispute handling and emergency freezes.
  • Finance integration: real-time balance data, downloadable statements, accounting exports, webhooks, tax-relevant transaction fields, receipts and reconciliation reports.
  • Security and resilience: authentication, role separation, audit logs, incident notification, uptime commitments, disaster recovery and data-retention terms.
  • Exit plan: how to withdraw balances, migrate cards and users, retrieve historical records, and close an account without stranded funds.

Common pitfalls and how to avoid them

Assuming card acceptance means global availability

Visa or Mastercard acceptance describes where a card may be used, not where your business can legally obtain one. Issuer licensing, sanctions rules, local consumer or employment law, and partner coverage can exclude your country or user group. Verify the onboarding entity and cardholder geography in the contract.

Treating a stablecoin balance as an instant card authorization

Most programs still need to authorize a card transaction, reserve value, convert or settle, and handle a later clearing message. Chain confirmation delays, price movements, insufficient balance and provider risk controls can produce declines even when a wallet appears funded. Ask how much balance is reserved and which exchange rate applies at authorization and completion.

Comparing yield with payment liquidity

An advertised yield may be variable or subject to product terms, while card spending requires immediately available funds. Keep the operational card balance separate from yield allocations unless the provider documents instant liquidity and the legal treatment of those assets.

Ignoring non-card payments

Contractors and vendors may need bank-rail payouts rather than cards. Confirm whether the program supports the required local rails, beneficiary screening, currency conversion, payment references and proof of payment. Oobit describes SEPA, ACH and PIX, but availability still depends on region and licensed partners.

Leaving reconciliation until after launch

Card transactions can change state several times. If your accounting system records only the final amount, it may miss holds, partial captures, refunds, reversals, fees or disputes. Build the event and ledger mapping during the pilot, before employee adoption makes migration difficult.

Why this market is expanding

Visa reported approximately $5.2 billion in stablecoin-linked-card volume in 2025, a 319% year-over-year increase, and more than 130 programs across 50-plus countries. Visa says companies are using stablecoin corporate cards for global treasury management, employee expenses and contractor payments. Those figures describe Visa’s reported market activity; they do not predict the volume or availability any individual provider can deliver to your company.

The practical implication is that stablecoin cards are becoming a bridge between on-chain treasury and ordinary commerce, not a replacement for every banking or accounting function. Your decision should therefore be based on operating model, controls, settlement, compliance and reconciliation—not on a merchant-count headline alone.

Bottom-line decision

Start with Nium if you need a branded, API-driven program and want Visa and Mastercard behind one integration. Start with Oobit if a provider-managed card linked to a stablecoin treasury is the priority. Consider Wirex when an account, payroll cards and treasury features belong together, but verify its company-reported scale, yield and country coverage. Choose Infini when employee controls and reconciliation are the deciding factors. Investigate Lead when custom infrastructure and stablecoin settlement are worth the additional diligence. Keep Corpay/Circle and OSL in an enterprise roadmap category until their current production availability, legal structure and commercial terms are confirmed.
