First, verify which Xiaomi device you mean
The name in the question is ambiguous because Xiaomi’s documented products do not all measure the same things. The official Xiaomi Smart Temperature and Humidity Monitor 3 is model MJWSD05MMC. Its published specifications list Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, a CR2450 battery, a temperature range of 0–60°C, a humidity range of 0–99% RH, 0.1°C temperature display resolution and 1% RH humidity display resolution. Those specifications do not list a CO₂ sensor.

A secondary search result mentioned a newer Mijia Smart Temperature and Humidity Meter 3 Pro, but the official pages reviewed here do not confirm its specifications or market availability. Do not assume that product is the same as the Monitor 3 or that it measures carbon dioxide. Check the model number and the manufacturer’s specification sheet. Use the table as a shortlist, not as an accuracy ranking. A stated range or accuracy figure only has meaning alongside its calibration assumptions, operating environment and measurement method.
1. Qingping CO₂ & Temp & RH Monitor: the closest direct replacement
Why it is the best match
This is the most literal substitute for a three-in-one Xiaomi-style monitor. Qingping’s manufacturer material explicitly says the device measures CO₂, temperature and humidity and uses a Swiss-made Sensirion non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) CO₂ sensor. That combination answers the central requirement without adding radon or particle measurements you may not need.
What NDIR means
NDIR instruments estimate carbon dioxide by measuring how the gas absorbs infrared light. For a household monitor, the useful implication is that the product has a dedicated CO₂ sensing method rather than inferring ventilation from temperature, humidity or an unspecified air-quality index. NDIR does not, by itself, prove that two devices have the same accuracy; placement, calibration and environmental conditions still matter.
Who should choose it
- Choose it when CO₂, temperature and humidity are the complete specification you want.
- Choose it when you prefer a focused monitor over a device that also measures radon or particulate matter.
- Choose it when a Sensirion-based NDIR implementation is a more important buying signal than a large ecosystem of extra sensors.
What to verify before ordering
The documentation available for this comparison does not establish a universal regional price, retailer stock, warranty term, display behavior or smart-home platform support for every market. 2. Aranet4 HOME: best for a portable display and alerts
What it measures
Aranet documents real-time CO₂, temperature, humidity and ambient pressure measurements. CO₂ sensing is NDIR-based. The addition of pressure is useful if you want a little more environmental context, but it is not a substitute for the three measurements that determine this comparison.

Why the interface stands out

It is therefore a broader indoor-air-quality instrument rather than a narrow replacement for a three-sensor monitor. If radon or fine particles are part of your concern, the extra measurements can justify choosing it.
Published CO₂ specification
The View technical specifications list a CO₂ measurement range of 400–5,000 ppm and describe accuracy conditions. The technical page carrying those details is dated April 13, 2026. Treat the range as the documented operating specification, not as a promise that readings remain equally precise at every point in every room. Follow the manufacturer’s stated environmental and calibration conditions.
When the extra sensors are worthwhile
- You want one device to watch a known radon risk as well as ventilation.
- Particles from cooking, smoke or outdoor pollution are relevant to the room.
- You want VOC information alongside CO₂, temperature and humidity.
When it is overkill
If your only question is whether a room needs more fresh air, a device with seven measurements can add cost, configuration and interpretation work without improving that specific decision. A focused three-measurement monitor may be easier to place and understand.

4. Qingping Air Monitor Lite: a connected, rechargeable option
Measurements and hardware
Qingping lists PM2.5, PM10, CO₂, temperature and humidity for the Air Monitor Lite. Its specifications include Bluetooth 5.0, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, a 2,000 mAh battery and USB-C power input. Compared with the CO₂ & Temp & RH Monitor, it adds two particulate measurements and emphasizes rechargeable, networked operation.
Regional Mi Home warning
Qingping states that Mi Home availability can depend on the app’s selected regional server. A device may therefore appear compatible in one market and unavailable or limited in another. Set your intended region before buying and check whether the current firmware and app expose the functions you need.
Who should choose it
- Choose it when PM2.5 and PM10 are important in addition to CO₂.
- Choose it when Wi-Fi history is more useful to you than a simple local display.
- Choose it when USB-C charging and a 2,000 mAh battery suit your placement better than a disposable-cell design.
Do not buy it solely because it carries the Xiaomi or Mi Home name in a listing. Confirm the exact regional integration and the current app behavior first.

CO₂, temperature and humidity: why all three matter
CO₂ is primarily a ventilation indicator in a home or office. It changes with occupancy and outdoor-air exchange, while temperature and humidity describe the conditions people actually experience. Looking at all three together helps distinguish a stuffy room from a room that is merely warm or humid.
For example, a room can feel uncomfortable because of high humidity even when CO₂ is stable. Conversely, CO₂ can rise during a meeting while temperature and humidity change only slightly. A monitor that lacks a real CO₂ sensor cannot show that distinction. It may display a calculated air-quality score, but that is not equivalent to a carbon-dioxide measurement unless the manufacturer explicitly says so.
Placement: get useful readings from any candidate
- Place the monitor in the occupied zone. Put it where people spend time, not directly beside a window, door, supply vent, cooker, humidifier or heater.
- Keep it away from exhaled breath. A desk position immediately in front of your face can produce a personal plume rather than a representative room value.
- Allow airflow around the housing. Do not cover the vents or press the unit against a wall, curtain or shelf edge.
- Let conditions settle. After moving the device, wait for readings to stabilize before comparing the new location with the old one.
- Record the context. Note occupancy, windows, mechanical ventilation and cooking. A trend becomes useful when you can explain what changed.
- Check the app and clock. If history or alerts matter, confirm that the device is connected, the timestamp is correct and data are actually being recorded.
These practices improve interpretation but cannot turn one product’s sensor into another product’s sensor. Use each manufacturer’s placement and calibration instructions for the final installation.

Accuracy, ranges and calibration: how to read the specifications
Do not rank these monitors by one accuracy number copied from a product page. The manufacturers use different test conditions, ranges and calibration assumptions. Airthings publishes a 400–5,000 ppm CO₂ range with conditions on its technical page; that does not establish that its figure is directly comparable with Qingping’s Sensirion-based claim or Aranet’s NDIR description.
A measurement range describes where the instrument is specified to operate. It is not a guarantee of equal accuracy at the bottom, middle and top of that range. Environmental temperature, humidity, airflow, sensor aging and calibration history can all affect readings. When two monitors disagree, first compare their placement and stabilization time before concluding that one is defective.
For household decisions, trends are often more actionable than a single number: whether CO₂ rises when windows stay closed, whether it falls after ventilation, and whether humidity follows cooking or showering. Keep the device clean, avoid obstructing its inlet and follow the maker’s calibration procedure if one is provided.

Xiaomi Home
The official Xiaomi Monitor 3 documentation says Xiaomi Home history and automation require a Bluetooth Mesh gateway. That requirement applies to the Xiaomi device’s documented ecosystem, not automatically to third-party monitors. Do not assume that a Qingping, Aranet or Airthings product will appear in Xiaomi Home just because it uses Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
Regional servers
Qingping specifically warns that Mi Home availability for its Air Monitor Lite may vary with the selected server region. Server choice can affect discovery, pairing and available automations. Verify the region before purchase rather than changing it after you have built a household around one account.
HomeKit and other platforms
The material available for this comparison does not establish HomeKit or any other platform integration for the candidates. If native support is essential, require a platform-specific listing or support document for your exact model and region. Bluetooth alone does not prove native smart-home compatibility.

Common buying mistakes and fixes
Mistake: buying a temperature-and-humidity monitor for a CO₂ problem
Fix: look for “CO₂” in the measured-parameter list and for a stated sensing method such as NDIR. Xiaomi’s Monitor 3 and Monitor 2 specifications, as documented above, do not list CO₂.
Mistake: treating an air-quality index as CO₂
Fix: require a numeric CO₂ measurement. An index can combine several inputs or be calculated from assumptions; it is not proof of a dedicated carbon-dioxide sensor.
Mistake: assuming every regional listing has the same app features
Fix: check the country server, firmware and gateway requirements before ordering. This is particularly important for the Qingping Air Monitor Lite and Xiaomi Home workflows.

Fix: read the operating range and conditions attached to each claim. No independent side-by-side test establishes a winner among these products.
Mistake: choosing the broadest sensor list automatically
Fix: buy extra measurements only when you have a decision that depends on them. Airthings View Plus is compelling for radon, PM2.5 or VOC monitoring, but those sensors are unnecessary for a simple ventilation check.

- Confirm the exact model name and that CO₂ is explicitly measured.
- Check whether the product uses NDIR or another stated CO₂ sensing method.
