LG and Acer announced 24.5-inch Full HD displays rated at 1,000Hz in 2026, but a 600Hz esports monitor or a 500Hz QHD OLED may better match your games, PC and image-quality preferences. Choose by the refresh rate your system can use, the resolution you want and the monitor’s motion features—not the headline number alone.
What to choose instead of chasing 1,000Hz
There are now announced 1,000Hz options, so the question is less whether that target exists and more whether its trade-offs suit you. For a speed-first esports setup, consider a 600Hz Fast-TN display. If you want a sharper QHD picture and OLED characteristics while retaining very high refresh, compare 500Hz QD-OLED models. A 500Hz Fast IPS option is another route if you prefer that panel category.

Refresh rate describes how often a display can update, not the frame rate your PC will deliver or the total delay between an input and what appears onscreen. A 600Hz refresh interval is about 1.67 milliseconds; 1,000Hz is 1 millisecond. Those are arithmetic intervals, not evidence of a matching improvement in system latency, perception or match results.

Which refresh-rate tier fits your setup?
Choose 1,000Hz only if the complete setup supports the goal
LG’s 25G590B and Acer’s XB253Q U1 are both announced as 24.5-inch Full HD monitors at 1,000Hz. LG describes its model as native 1,000Hz and says it is designed for fast-paced FPS play. Acer lists VRB Pro, FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC Compatible for its model. These announcements establish what the companies specify, not that either screen gives every player a measurable competitive advantage. Check current availability and exact regional specifications before deciding.

Pick 600Hz for a speed-first alternative
ZOWIE’s XL2586X+ is a 600Hz Fast-TN display with DyAc 2. ZOWIE says it reaches 600Hz without overclocking. That makes the rate distinction straightforward, but it remains a Full HD esports-oriented choice rather than a high-resolution all-rounder. Whether its panel and motion-blur handling suit you is a preference to weigh, not a universal outcome.
Consider 500Hz QHD OLED for image quality as well as speed
Samsung’s 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF and MSI’s 26.5-inch MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 are both listed at 500Hz with QD-OLED panels. Samsung specifies QHD resolution; both manufacturers list 0.03ms GTG response time. Those response figures are manufacturer specifications, not a direct comparison of end-to-end input lag. OLED care features, local warranty and availability are also worth checking when comparing specific regional versions.

Consider 500Hz Fast IPS if you want that panel category
Dell lists the 24.5-inch Alienware AW2524HF at 500Hz overclocked with a Fast IPS panel. Its overclocked status matters: compare it with monitors by their native as well as maximum rates, and check how the selected mode is configured.

Check the resolution attached to the maximum refresh rate
A quoted peak rate may apply only after changing resolution or selecting a special mode. Acer’s Predator XB273K V7 illustrates the difference: Acer lists UHD at 160Hz, with its Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) mode reaching up to 500Hz at Full HD. That is not a native UHD 500Hz mode. When comparing any display, read the resolution and mode alongside the refresh-rate figure.

- Every millisecond decides victory or defeat. With a blistering 360Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms (GtG) Fast IPS panel, this 27" monitor delivers buttery‑smooth motion with virtually zero ghosting or blur. Track enemies across the screen, react instantly, and never miss a frame – whether you're in a clutch round or a high‑speed race.
- High refresh rate monitors often force you to choose between speed and image quality. Not this one. QHD (2560×1440) resolution paired with Fast IPS technology gives you stunning detail and consistent colors from any 178° viewing angle. With 120% sRGB, 90% DCI-P3, and Delta E<2 factory calibration, colors are vivid and true-to-life–perfect for competitive gaming and creative work.
- Dark corners hide enemies; washed‑out highlights ruin immersion.HDR400 delivers brighter highlights and deeper shadows, so you can spot threats hiding in the dark without losing detail in bright explosions. Combined with 400 nits brightness and 1000:1 contrast, every scene looks balanced and realistic.
- Screen tearing, stuttering, and motion blur are game-killers. This monitor supports AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible for tear-free, lag-free gameplay on any GPU. Plus, ELMB SYNC (Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync) works simultaneously with variable refresh rate – eliminating both ghosting and tearing in one go. Smoothness you can see and feel.
- Neck pain and awkward angles shouldn't be part of your setup. Adjust height (0–3.94in), tilt (-5°~+15°), swivel (±45°), and pivot 90° for portrait mode – ideal for coding, streaming, or vertical shooters. The sturdy stand keeps the monitor rock-solid, and VESA 100×100mm mounting lets you go wall‑mounted or arm‑mounted for a clutter‑free desk.
Match the display to your PC and games
Dell’s 2026 monitor guide advises matching a target refresh rate to the frame output of the GPU. This is a useful first check: a monitor’s maximum refresh rate does not make a game render at that rate. Consider the games you actually play, the frame rates your system can sustain in them, and whether you are willing to lower resolution or graphics settings to pursue a higher frame rate.
- For a speed-first FPS setup: compare refresh rate, native versus overclocked operation, resolution and motion-blur reduction.
- For a sharper or more versatile display: compare QHD OLED options with Full HD esports models, including the GPU demand of your preferred games and settings.
- For a mixed-use PC: weigh image quality and resolution alongside maximum refresh, rather than paying for a peak rate you rarely use.
- For any choice: confirm local stock, warranty, ports and the exact regional model specification.
Variable-refresh support is another specification to verify against your GPU and connection. Acer lists FreeSync Premium and G-SYNC Compatible for the XB253Q U1; Samsung lists G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro for the Odyssey OLED G6. These labels are manufacturer-listed features, and the relevant model’s manual and regional specification should guide setup.

A practical decision checklist
- Set the resolution first. Decide whether you want Full HD for a speed-focused setup or QHD for more detail, then check that the advertised refresh rate applies at that resolution.
- Compare rate types. Identify whether the maximum is native, overclocked or available only in a reduced-resolution mode.
- Check your real game frame rates. Use the GPU and settings you expect to play with; a display cannot supply frames the system does not render.
- Choose panel and motion features. Compare Fast-TN, Fast IPS and QD-OLED according to your image-quality priorities, plus any blur-reduction and variable-refresh features you need.
- Verify the purchase details. Confirm regional availability, current specifications, warranty and ports for the exact model before buying.
