Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

A practical budget pick is one that fits your bathroom and household, has a clearly identified SKU, and meets the efficiency standard you want. As a documented example, a Home Depot listing showed the American Standard Champion 747AA107SC.020 at $249 when accessed in 2026; that is a dated listing, not a guaranteed current price or a head-to-head performance verdict.
What makes an affordable toilet a sensible buy?
Compare the total purchase and installation fit—not just the headline price. A low-cost toilet that does not match the existing plumbing, or that lacks a needed seat, can be a poor value. The exact model number matters because products sold under one family name can differ in flush volume, bowl shape, height, and included accessories.

- Exact model/SKU: Match the model number on the product listing to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Price and fulfillment: Check the current item price plus delivery or pickup costs and any return conditions.
- Efficiency: Confirm the rated flush volume and check whether the exact model is WaterSense labeled.
- Fit and comfort: Verify rough-in requirements and dimensions, then choose round or elongated and standard or chair-height based on the bathroom and users.
- Included parts: Check whether a seat is included and review warranty details before ordering.
Manufacturers offer variations within toilet collections, so a family name alone does not establish the specifications of the unit you are buying. Compare the SKU and listing details against the manufacturer’s product information (American Standard toilet collections).

For a single-flush tank-type toilet to meet EPA WaterSense Version 2.0, its rated flush volume must not exceed 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf). For a dual-flush model, each mode is capped at 1.28 gpf under the May 2024 specification. This is a formal efficiency criterion, not a claim that every toilet at that volume will perform identically (EPA WaterSense Specification for Tank-Type Toilets, Version 2.0).

Those details make it a concrete model to compare, not a claim that it is the cheapest or best-performing toilet everywhere. Retail price and stock change, and the listing alone does not establish independent test results, installation cost, or suitability for a particular bathroom. Confirm the current SKU, included seat, dimensions, availability, and price with the seller before buying.
Estimate water savings without treating them as a promise
EPA’s WaterSense calculator estimates potential savings using assumptions, including 5.05 flushes per person per day and toilet flush-volume assumptions tied to the age of the toilet being replaced. These are inputs to a model, not universal observed usage. Your result depends on the existing toilet, household use, and local water cost; use the EPA WaterSense calculator as an estimate rather than a guaranteed bill reduction.
