There is no evidence-backed universal “best” affordable Indian VPS for a 24/7 YouTube playlist stream. The right choice depends on where the server is located, how much monthly outbound transfer it includes, whether it must encode video or only relay an encoded feed, and how much administration you are willing to handle. The provider plans below are dated examples, not independently tested recommendations; check the live offer and test your actual stream before relying on it.
If you only need prerecorded videos to loop on YouTube, a managed cloud playlist service may avoid the work of maintaining a VPS. StreamNeo is the first option to consider for that use: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives the first day free.

What matters most when choosing a VPS for a 24/7 stream
Start by deciding whether the server will encode your video or simply relay a stream that is already encoded. Encoding with OBS or FFmpeg can place sustained demands on CPU and memory; relay-only operation is a different workload. A plan’s listed vCPU and RAM do not establish that it can encode your specific video continuously.

A city name alone does not establish route quality.
- Monthly transfer: Compare the included outbound data allowance and overage terms with your intended bitrate and schedule. A low monthly price can become expensive if the transfer allowance is inadequate.
- Compute and software: Match CPU, RAM, storage, and Linux or desktop requirements to the encoder and workflow you will actually run.
- Total bill: Check taxes, renewal price, backups, and other charges, not just the advertised base price.
- Recovery and support: Find out what monitoring, process restart, stream reconnection, session recovery, and support are included. A powered-on VPS does not prove a YouTube live session will remain active without intervention.
Indian VPS listings to investigate
These are provider examples surfaced in a broad search and accessed October 3, 2026. They are not ranked recommendations, and none was independently load-tested for a 24/7 OBS stream. Verify current availability, exact location, renewal price, tax, transfer definition and cap, overage charges, permitted use, and support terms before purchasing.
#1 Best Overall
| Provider and listing | Advertised offer | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Vision Host — Mumbai Basic | ₹879/month; 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2,000 GB bandwidth, and a 1 Gbps port, as listed in the search result. | Confirm current billing and whether “bandwidth” means monthly transfer. Provider specifications are claims, not a measured workload result. |
| VPSWala — Entry VPS 2 | ₹298/month; 1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 20 GB RAID NVMe, and 100 GB transfer, as listed in the search result. Its catalogue names Mumbai, Noida, and Jaipur nodes and says prices exclude GST. | 100 GB is a small transfer allowance for continuous streaming at common bitrates. Confirm the exact node, current offer, tax, and transfer terms. |
| VirtVPS — Mumbai IN-1 and IN-4 | IN-1: $5.99/month, 2 vCore, 2 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, and 500 GB monthly traffic. IN-4: $16.99/month, 8 GB RAM, and 2 TB traffic, as listed in the search result. | Prices are listed in USD. Verify current regional inventory, network terms, and whether the included traffic fits your stream. |
| SkyRainCloud — 8 GB listing | ₹649/month; 2 vCore, 40 GB NVMe, “unmetered” 1 Gbps, and Mumbai/Noida data centers, as advertised in the search result. | “Unmetered” and port speed do not establish sustained usable streaming bandwidth or an acceptable-use policy. Read the terms carefully. |
These listings are not directly comparable: the advertised data allowances, locations, prices, and specifications differ, and a port-speed figure does not tell you how much traffic is included each month.
Estimate the bandwidth bill before you buy
For a continuous schedule, a useful planning approximation is that 1 Mbps sustained for 30 days sends about 324 GB in decimal units, before protocol overhead. Multiply that estimate by the bitrate you plan to send:
Rank #2
- At 3 Mbps: about 972 GB over 30 days.
- At 4 Mbps: about 1.30 TB over 30 days.
These are arithmetic estimates, not provider usage guarantees. Actual usage varies with overhead, interruptions, schedule, and bitrate behavior. Leave room above the estimate and check what the VPS provider charges for excess traffic. YouTube’s recommendation to keep upload bitrate below available bandwidth with 20% headroom concerns network capacity; it is not a monthly transfer-quota recommendation.

Set a YouTube-compatible encoder configuration
YouTube’s current live encoder guidance recommends RTMPS and lists RTMP/RTMPS ingest, H.264/H.265/AV1, frame rates up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; it says not to exceed four seconds. Use YouTube’s bitrate table for the exact codec, resolution, and frame-rate combination you choose. For H.264, its listed recommendations include:
Rank #3
| Resolution and frame rate | YouTube H.264 recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
Those are YouTube platform recommendations, not guarantees that a particular VPS can encode the content or that viewers will receive a given playback quality. YouTube advises keeping total stream bitrate below available upload bandwidth and recommends 20% headroom. Its encoder guidance states: “We recommend streaming to YouTube Live with RTMPS, a secure extension to the popular RTMP streaming video protocol.” See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions and its network guidance when choosing a setup.
Run and test the DIY VPS workflow
- Choose the VPS and operating setup. Confirm the plan’s current region, transfer allowance, billing terms, and permitted use. Install the operating system and the encoder or relay software your workflow requires.
- Decide where encoding happens. If the VPS runs OBS or FFmpeg to encode, test your actual video, resolution, frame rate, overlays, audio, and encoder settings for sustained CPU load and dropped frames. If it only relays an already encoded feed, test that exact relay workflow instead.
- Configure output against YouTube’s current guidance. Use RTMPS where supported, CBR, and a two-second keyframe interval (never more than four seconds). Set a bitrate for the selected codec, resolution, and frame rate, then ensure network capacity exceeds total stream bitrate with YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it as a credential: do not expose it in public scripts, screenshots, logs, or shared configuration. Use YouTube’s live-control workflow to obtain and configure the key for the intended stream.
- Test with representative content. Send audio and movement representative of the planned stream, monitor YouTube stream health, and verify output before depending on the VPS for continuous operation.
- Plan for failure and session behavior. Supervise the encoder or relay process, monitor it, and define how it reconnects after a process or network interruption. Check how the YouTube live session behaves when the connection drops and whether restarting requires intervention. Back up media and configuration separately; a backup does not ensure an uninterrupted stream.
- Check rights and channel policy. Ensure you have the necessary rights to the video and audio. Repeating prerecorded material does not itself establish that it complies with copyright rules or YouTube’s reused-content and monetization policies; review the applicable YouTube policies for your content and channel.
Or let it run in the cloud
For prerecorded videos and playlists, StreamNeo is the first alternative to consider: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops uploaded videos from its cloud to YouTube, so nothing has to stay on at home; it supports the quality you upload up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The same product is included on every plan; only the billing length changes.

Common problems and what to check
- The VPS reaches its transfer cap: Recalculate expected usage from the outgoing bitrate and actual schedule, then check the plan’s quota and overage rate. A plan with insufficient monthly transfer is not a low-cost fit for a continuous stream.
- Encoding causes dropped frames or overload: Check sustained CPU load and the exact resolution, frame rate, overlays, and audio in the real workload. Listed CPU and RAM figures alone do not prove encoding capacity; consider a relay-only workflow only if the source is already encoded.
- YouTube reports a connection or stream-health problem: Verify the stream key, ingest protocol, bitrate, and available upload capacity. Check that total bitrate remains below capacity with the recommended headroom, and inspect the encoder and network logs.
- The stream does not resume after a drop: Check process supervision and reconnection behavior, then determine whether the YouTube live session needs to be restarted or reconfigured. Keeping a VPS powered on does not guarantee that the session recovers.
- The advertised plan differs from checkout: Recheck region, renewal price, GST, backup charges, transfer definitions, and acceptable-use terms before paying.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is an Indian VPS automatically cheaper than a managed cloud playlist service?
Not necessarily. Compare the full VPS bill—including tax, transfer overages, backups, and administration—with the managed service’s current checkout price and included limits.
Can a VPS plan’s listed CPU and RAM prove it will encode 24/7?
No. Sustained encoding performance depends on the actual video, settings, and workload; test that configuration before relying on the server.
