For most X20 owners, buy the ROG Bulwark Dock DG310 and budget for a separate USB-C PD charger rated at 100W or more. It is the only dock in the available ASUS material whose stand fit is explicitly identified for the 2026 RC74XA X20, and it adds HDMI 2.1, Gigabit Ethernet and three USB-A ports. For protection, the dbrand Killswitch is the strongest verified lead, but confirm the retail SKU because bundle contents and standalone availability can differ by region.
The X20 itself is a 7.4-inch, 1920×1080, 120Hz OLED handheld. ASUS lists a 68W USB-C adapter specification, yet charger inclusion varies by region and model, so check the box contents for your exact SKU before ordering another brick.

What the X20 requires before you buy accessories
ASUS identifies the 2026 ROG Xbox Ally X20 as model RC74XA. Its core display is a 7.4-inch OLED panel at 1920×1080 and 120Hz. ASUS also publishes a 68W USB-C adapter specification. Those figures matter when choosing a power supply: a dock can advertise a higher pass-through limit than the handheld’s bundled adapter, while the charger in your regional box may be different or absent.
Do not assume every accessory sold for a 2025 Xbox Ally or Ally X will physically fit the X20. No authoritative catalog establishes every third-party X20 case, screen protector or molded dock insert. Unless a maker names the X20 or RC74XA, treat fit as unconfirmed rather than universal.

The best verified dock: ROG Bulwark Dock DG310
Why it is the safest fit choice
ASUS Support’s 2026 FAQ explicitly describes the DG310 stand as compatible with the X20. That makes it the clearest choice when your priority is a physical cradle that holds the handheld correctly, rather than a generic USB-C hub that may require a separate stand or have a connector at the wrong angle.
The dock’s published dimensions are 181.6 × 86.6 × 31.6 mm and its weight is approximately 262g. It connects through a fixed cable and accepts power over USB-C. ASUS states that the fixed cable can deliver up to 80W to the handheld when the dock receives adequate input.
Ports and display capability
| Connection | Published capability | Useful scenario |
|---|---|---|
| HDMI 2.1 | ASUS press material says up to 4K at 144Hz, with VRR, ALLM and HDR on compatible displays | TV or monitor gaming, including high-refresh 4K displays that support those standards |
| USB-A (three) | Three USB-A expansion ports | Keyboard, mouse, controller, headset receiver or external storage |
| Gigabit Ethernet | Wired network connection | Lower-latency, more consistent downloads and online play than congested Wi-Fi |
| USB-C power input | Feeds the dock and handheld | Connect your USB-C PD charger here, not to a random data-only port |
| Fixed handheld cable | Up to 80W delivery when correctly powered | One-cable connection from the dock to the X20 |
The press release calls the Bulwark Dock a six-in-one USB-C connection and mentions one-touch Bluetooth pairing for compatible wireless accessories. Pairing features, VRR, ALLM and HDR depend on the connected display and accessory; the dock cannot add capabilities that a TV, monitor or cable does not support.
What you must buy with it
The DG310 does not include a charger. ASUS recommends a USB-C PD charger rated at 100W or higher to reach the dock’s full 80W output. A lower-rated charger may still power a basic setup, but it will not meet ASUS’s stated condition for maximum handheld output, especially while the X20 is charging and USB devices, Ethernet and HDMI are active.

DG310 setup procedure
- Place the dock on a stable, ventilated surface with the fixed handheld cable accessible. Leave room behind it for the HDMI, Ethernet and power plugs.
- Connect a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger to the dock’s USB-C power input. Use a charger and cable rated for the output you intend to draw.
- Connect HDMI from the dock to an input on the TV or monitor. Select that input on the display.
- For wired networking, plug an Ethernet cable from the dock’s Gigabit Ethernet port to your router or switch.
- Attach USB peripherals to the three USB-A ports. Start with the keyboard, mouse or controller you need; add external storage only after confirming it is detected.
- Seat the X20 in the shaped stand and connect the fixed cable to its USB-C port. Do not force the plug if the handheld is not sitting squarely.
- On the X20, open Windows display settings to choose duplicate or extended output and select the desired resolution and refresh rate. Enable HDR or variable refresh only if the display reports support.
- For Bluetooth devices, use the dock’s one-touch pairing feature where supported, then confirm the accessory appears in Windows Bluetooth settings.
When a generic hub is a better choice
A generic USB-C hub can be sensible if you already own a stand, need a different port mix or travel with several computers. It is not equivalent to the DG310’s verified X20 cradle. Check that the hub supports USB-C Power Delivery pass-through, the HDMI mode you need and a wired network port if Ethernet matters. A hub with no stand leaves the handheld lying flat or hanging from its cable, which is less convenient and can stress the connector.
Choosing a charger for the X20
First check your regional box
ASUS’s X20 specification lists a 68W USB-C adapter, but charger inclusion varies by region and model. Read the contents printed on your exact retail package or product page before purchasing a second charger. The 68W figure is a specification, not proof that every X20 shipment includes that adapter.
When 100W is justified
A 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger is the right target when you are powering the DG310 and want the dock’s stated 80W maximum to the handheld. It also gives headroom for USB peripherals and display output. The charger does not make the X20 draw 100W; the dock and handheld negotiate the power they can accept.

- At a desk with the DG310: use a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger on the dock’s power input.
- For travel: a single charger dock can reduce the number of separate bricks, but confirm its X20 compatibility and regional availability.
- For a replacement: verify USB-C PD support and the seller’s wattage labeling; a USB-C plug alone does not guarantee the required charging profile.
Travel alternative: ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock
Xbox Wire presents the ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock as a single travel-oriented accessory for Xbox Ally-family hardware, combining charging, data transfer and display output. That combination can be more convenient than carrying a separate dock, charger and cable when you move between hotel rooms, offices and a television.

The available official description does not establish the exact X20 stand fit, port count, HDMI generation or regional stock. Treat it as a promising travel option rather than a guaranteed X20 purchase. Before ordering, look for the X20 or RC74XA in the manufacturer’s compatibility list and confirm the included power supply meets the output you need.
Best protection: dbrand Killswitch
What is confirmed
Xbox Wire describes the dbrand Killswitch as a Designed for Xbox-certified case for the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X family. It uses impact-resistant thermoplastics, has a 2.5mm profile, includes a kickstand and can be paired with a crush-proof travel cover. ASUS lists the Killswitch in an X20 bundle, which is the strongest indication that this case family is intended for the 2026 handheld.
How to buy without a fit mistake
- Check whether the listing names the 2026 X20 or model RC74XA, not only “Xbox Ally” or “Ally X.”
- Confirm whether the kickstand and travel cover are included in that SKU or sold separately.
- Compare the case opening around the USB-C port with your dock’s cable position. A thick case can prevent a handheld from seating fully in a molded dock.
- Keep the packaging until you have tested every button, trigger, vent opening and the dock connection.
A 2.5mm case profile is relatively slim, but it still changes the outside dimensions. Do not assume a case that fits the handheld by itself will fit inside another accessory’s molded travel compartment.
Storage accessories: microSD versus internal NVMe
microSD is the lower-friction expansion path
Xbox Wire names SanDisk microSD cards with capacities up to 2TB among Xbox Ally-family accessories. A card is generally the simpler expansion approach because it does not require opening the handheld. Confirm the X20’s supported card standard, capacity limit and formatting requirements in its current documentation before buying the largest card available.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Use microSD for a broad game library, screenshots and less frequently played titles. Keep space on the internal drive for the operating system and games that benefit from the fastest loading available on the device.
Internal WD_BLACK SN7100X: verify before opening the handheld
Xbox Wire also lists WD_BLACK SN7100X NVMe SSDs up to 4TB, with quoted peak performance of up to 7,250MB/s read and 6,900MB/s write. Those are the SSD manufacturer’s published maximum figures, not a guarantee of the same result inside an X20.
Before recommending or installing one, verify three things for the exact X20 revision: the NVMe interface and physical module size, whether the service procedure is user-accessible without damaging seals, and whether ASUS provides a supported recovery or cloning path. An SSD can be electrically compatible yet physically unsuitable or unsupported for warranty service.
Connecting the X20 to a TV and Ethernet
For the simplest living-room setup, use the DG310: connect a suitable HDMI cable to the dock and TV, Ethernet to the dock and router, and the 100W-or-higher charger to the dock. The X20 then uses one fixed cable connection to receive power, display output, network access and USB expansion.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
After Windows detects the TV, select the display’s native mode. The DG310’s advertised 4K at 144Hz capability applies only when the TV, HDMI input, cable and game all support the required bandwidth. A 1080p 120Hz TV may be the more practical target for many games, while VRR, ALLM and HDR require compatible equipment throughout the chain.
Buying checklist
- Match the accessory to the 2026 X20 or RC74XA, not merely to an older Xbox Ally label.
- For the DG310, add a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger because no charger is included.
- Check whether your regional X20 package already contains a 68W USB-C adapter.
- Confirm HDMI features on the television or monitor before paying for a high-refresh dock.
- For Ethernet, make sure the dock is connected to a gigabit-capable router or switch and use a sound cable.
- For a Killswitch case, verify the exact bundle or standalone SKU and test dock seating before discarding packaging.
- For microSD, confirm the X20’s card support and capacity limit.
- For an NVMe upgrade, confirm interface, physical size, serviceability and warranty implications first.
- Check regional price, stock, warranty terms and included cables; the cited official announcements do not establish one worldwide price.
Troubleshooting common accessory problems
The X20 charges slowly or reports limited power
- Confirm the charger is connected to the dock’s USB-C power input, not a USB-A port.
- Check that the charger is rated at least 100W if you expect the DG310’s full 80W output.
- Try disconnecting high-draw USB devices and retest. If performance improves, the charger or cable may be limiting the negotiated power.
- Test direct charging from the X20’s adapter to separate a handheld issue from a dock, cable or charger issue.
The TV shows no image
- Select the correct HDMI input and reseat both ends of the cable.
- Power-cycle the TV, dock and handheld, then reconnect in that order.
- Try a lower resolution or refresh rate in Windows before enabling 4K at 144Hz.
- Disable HDR or VRR temporarily to identify a display-handshake problem.
- Use the display’s HDMI port that supports its advertised high-bandwidth mode; many TVs reserve that capability for one or two inputs.
Ethernet is missing in Windows
- Check link lights on the router or switch and try another network cable.
- Reconnect the dock after the handheld is seated and inspect Windows network settings.
- Test the dock without HDMI and other USB devices to rule out a power or enumeration conflict.
- If the adapter still does not appear, update the X20 and dock firmware using ASUS’s current support instructions.
The case prevents docking
Remove the case and test the bare X20 in the DG310. If it docks without the case, the issue is physical clearance rather than software. Do not force the connector; use a case and dock combination that the manufacturer explicitly supports.
Which accessory combination should you buy?
Desk and TV setup
Choose the DG310 plus a 100W-or-higher USB-C PD charger. Add Ethernet if the router is nearby and use the HDMI output for the TV or monitor. This is the most completely verified X20 setup in the available specifications.
Recommended Free Tools
Frequent travel
Start with the Killswitch case and crush-proof cover if your exact SKU confirms X20 compatibility. Consider the ROG 100W Gaming Charger Dock to reduce packing, but verify X20 fit, ports and regional availability before relying on it for a trip.
Large game library
Use a supported microSD card up to the documented limit as the least invasive expansion. Consider an internal NVMe drive only after confirming the X20’s interface and service procedure; the 4TB SN7100X listing alone is not that confirmation.
Minimal setup
If you only need charging, use the adapter included with your regional X20 package when present. Add a separate 100W-class charger only when you adopt the DG310 or need a replacement with greater headroom.
