For two lines at a genuinely low recurring price, Connect by T-Mobile’s 5GB plan is the clearest starting point: T-Mobile lists it at $30 per month for two lines, or $15 per line, before government taxes that vary by location. If you need more data, Mint Mobile advertises 6GB at a $15 monthly equivalent but requires prepayment; for unlimited data, Visible starts at $25 per month with taxes and fees included. The right choice depends on each person’s data use and whether the network works where you need it.

| Provider and plan | Two-line price | Data and pricing terms | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connect by T-Mobile Connect 5GB | $30 per month for two lines ($15 per line), before government taxes that vary by location | 5GB per line. The official disclosure says the price is not introductory and there is no yearly contract. | People who can stay within a modest data allowance and want a stated two-line total. |
| Mint Mobile 6GB | $30 per month equivalent for two lines, based on the advertised $15-per-month-per-line offer; the cited offer requires $45 prepaid for three months | Prepay for the stated period; check the renewal price at checkout. Do not assume the monthly equivalent is a month-to-month bill. | People comfortable paying in advance who want more stated data than the Connect example. |
| Visible | Starting at $50 per month for two lines at the advertised $25-per-line starting price | Unlimited plans; Visible says taxes and fees are included. Hotspot terms and speeds vary by plan tier. | People who need unlimited service and prefer monthly prepaid pricing. |
| US Mobile Starter | $50 per month for two lines, according to US Mobile’s August 2026 comparison | The provider’s comparison describes flat per-line pricing. Confirm the current total at checkout. | A comparison point for shoppers considering another flat-price option. |

Which cheap plan is best for two lines?
Connect by T-Mobile: the clearest $15-per-line example
T-Mobile’s official Connect disclosure lists its 5GB plan at $30 monthly for two lines. The stated price is not an introductory rate and does not require a yearly contract. Government taxes vary by location, so $30 is not necessarily the final bill. T-Mobile also lists in-store device activation or change at $10 per line, compared with $0 online. The 5GB allowance is per line; this is a limited-data option, not an unlimited plan.
Mint Mobile: compare the prepayment and renewal price
Mint advertises a 6GB plan at $15 per month, but that figure is a monthly equivalent tied to a prepayment period: the cited offer is $45 for three months. It is not the same as paying $15 for one month at a time. Mint Family is positioned for two or more lines, but do not assume that two lines qualify for a discount. Check the renewal amount and the total due at checkout before comparing it with a recurring monthly bill.

Visible: a starting point for unlimited data
Visible advertises unlimited plans starting at $25 per month on Verizon’s network, with taxes and fees included. At the advertised starting price, two lines total $50 per month. Visible’s plans do not all have the same hotspot terms: speed caps differ by tier, so check the specific plan rather than applying one allowance to the entire lineup. This is a higher-cost alternative for people whose data needs justify unlimited service.
How to compare the real cost of two lines
Two lines do not automatically mean a family discount. With a flat per-line price, multiply the single-line price by two; compare that total with any advertised multi-line offer rather than assuming a discount. For example, US Mobile’s August 2026 provider-authored comparison lists Starter at $50 for two lines. Treat that as a lead, not independent verification, and confirm current pricing at checkout.

- Monthly total: Add both line charges, taxes, carrier fees, activation costs, and required add-ons. Separate taxes-included prices from plans where taxes are extra.
- When and how you pay: Distinguish recurring monthly billing from multi-month or annual prepayment. Check whether an advertised rate is introductory and what renewal costs.
- Data for each person: Estimate each user’s typical use. Check the high-speed allowance per line and what happens when it is used.
- Hotspot details: Verify whether hotspot is included and note its data and speed limits for the exact plan tier.
- Network at your locations: Check service at both users’ homes, workplaces, commutes, and frequent travel destinations. Nationwide coverage claims cannot establish indoor reception at a particular address.
- Switching logistics: Before ordering, confirm that both phones are compatible and whether you need a physical SIM or can use eSIM. Check number-transfer requirements and whether a promotion depends on porting in; these details are not established here for every provider.
How to choose between limited and unlimited data
Start with the two users’ actual habits rather than the plan label. A 5GB-per-line plan may suit someone who mainly uses Wi-Fi and keeps mobile streaming or large downloads to a minimum. If either person regularly streams, uses navigation, or works away from Wi-Fi, compare that person’s mobile usage with the plan’s per-line high-speed allowance. A shared household budget does not necessarily mean the two people have the same data needs.
“Unlimited” also does not mean identical service across plans. Compare hotspot speed and allowance, network terms, and any premium-data threshold and its effect after use. The available Visible information establishes that hotspot speed caps vary by tier, but does not support assigning one cap to every plan. Review the terms for the exact offer you intend to buy.

Check coverage before choosing a carrier
There is no responsible nationwide coverage winner for an unspecified address. The options described here use different networks, and the best signal for one person may not be the best for the other. Check both users’ important locations with each carrier’s coverage information, and consider local indoor reception as well as outdoor coverage. If practical, look for a way to test service before moving both numbers.

What to verify before checkout
- Write down the full two-line price. Include taxes, fees, activation, and any required extras; note whether taxes are included.
- Confirm the payment commitment. Record how much is due today, how long that payment covers, and the renewal price.
- Check each line’s data and hotspot terms. Confirm per-line allowances and any speed or service changes after limits are reached.
- Verify coverage and phone compatibility. Check both users’ regular locations and confirm both devices work with the selected service.
- Review number-transfer and promotion conditions. Make sure any advertised discount applies to your situation and that you understand the steps needed to keep your numbers.
