There is no tested, universal “best” 110 camera, and this guide doesn’t pretend otherwise. What it does is sort the format into its main types and point to documented examples. For an SLR, the Pentax Auto 110 is the well-sourced pick. For a classic non-reflex, look at the Canon 110ED. For a new camera with no vintage-condition risk, look at Lomography’s Lomomatic 110 line. New 110 film is still made, but processing access is the thing to check before you buy anything.
What 110 is, and whether you can still shoot it
110 is a cartridge film format tied to Kodak’s Pocket Instamatic system. Lomography says the format returned to life in 2012.

New film exists. Lomography’s guide, last updated 18 June 2026, calls the company the only producer of new 110 film. It lists color negative, black-and-white, redscale and LomoChrome choices:
- LomoChrome Classicolor, Color Tiger, Color ’92 variants, Metropolis, Purple and Turquoise
- Lobster Redscale
- B&W Orca
Availability varies by region and stocks can sell out. Lomography’s US shop says its 110 film works in its own cameras and in any other 110 pocket film camera. Check the live listing for current prices and stock.
#1 Best Overall
- 📷 Film-saving: You can have twice as many images per roll. For example, a film roll with 36 exposures can yield around 72 half-frame photos - doubled!
- 📷 Lightweight and Easy-to-use: The pocket-size camera is light and tiny, and hence convenient for you to bring along daily. Since its instructions are simple, it is suitable for all analog hobbyists.
- 📷 Built-in Flash: Turning on the flash by adjusting the silver ring around the lens so that you can use KODAK EKTAR H35 during days and nights, outdoor and indoor.
- 📷 Four colours: Black, brown, sage and sand. Neat and natural.
- 📷 Perfect for Beginners: The point-and-shoot camera is easy to use for new analogue hobbyists.
The three camera types
SLRs: Pentax Auto 110
The Pentax Auto 110 is a genuine 110 SLR. The Smithsonian holds one in its collection, and the Science Museum Group describes it as a single-lens reflex camera for 110 cartridge film. SLR means you view and focus through the taking lens. That is a different experience from the viewfinder-and-guess approach of most pocket cameras.
Minolta’s 110 Zoom SLR is often mentioned alongside it. I haven’t found a manufacturer or museum record detailed enough to recommend it with confidence, so check its exact specifications before you buy. Don’t assume “Zoom SLR” means interchangeable lenses.
Non-reflex cameras: Canon 110ED and Rollei A110
Canon’s Camera Museum documents the 110ED, a lens-shutter Pocket Instamatic camera marketed in March 1975. It has:

The Rollei A110 is another compact option. A museum exhibit at Blue Moon Camera and Machine describes a push-together body that advances the film and resets the shutter, plus an optional flash attachment. That is a secondary source, so confirm lens and production details independently if they matter to your decision.
Novelty cameras
Novelty 110 cameras did exist, but I couldn’t find manufacturer, catalog or museum records good enough to name specific models responsibly. Treat them as collectible curiosities. Buy on the seller’s condition description and don’t expect documented specifications.
New: Lomomatic 110
Lomography currently lists new 110 cameras, including the Lomomatic 110 Camera & Flash Metal Nocturne. Digital Camera World reported on 3 August 2026 a Discomatic edition with a 23 mm lens, automatic exposure, adjustable ISO and a launch price of $119/£109. That price is specific to that date and market, so confirm it on the live listing.

What to check before buying a vintage 110 camera
- Shutter and meter: ask whether both have been tested, and whether the seller has shot a roll.
- Film transport: advance and cartridge seating need to work smoothly.
- Battery compartment: look for corrosion, and find out which battery the camera needs.
- Flash: confirm whether the flash is included and working.
- Light seals: ask about them.
This is general buyer prudence, not a claim about a known failure rate for any model.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

I couldn’t confirm which labs process 110 in any given market, and not every 35 mm lab accepts it. Contact your intended lab before buying. Ask:
