Berkshire Hathaway-related entities reported buying more Lennar shares through September 30, 2026. Their latest Form 4 shows 656,302 Class A shares and 4,108 Class B shares purchased from September 28–30—fewer of each class than the 1,659,025 Class A and 20,675 Class B shares reported for September 23–25. The filings support a comparison between those two windows, not a claim about an uninterrupted daily slowdown or what Berkshire may do next.

What Berkshire reported buying

Berkshire-related reporting persons disclosed purchases on September 28, 29 and 30 in a Form 4 filed with the SEC on September 30. The transaction rows show the following:

How the latest window compares with the previous one

The preceding Form 4 lists purchases from September 23–25. Summing its transaction rows gives 1,659,025 Class A shares and 20,675 Class B shares. Against that specific window, the September 28–30 total was lower by 1,002,723 Class A shares and 16,567 Class B shares.

Reported transaction window Class A purchases Class B purchases Source
September 23–25, 2026 1,659,025 20,675 SEC Form 4 filed for the earlier transactions
September 28–30, 2026 656,302 4,108 SEC Form 4 filed September 30

This is a comparison of the listed purchases in two disclosed date windows. It does not establish that buying declined on every intervening day, explain the investment decision, or predict future transactions.

How many Lennar shares Berkshire reported holding

After the transactions shown in the September 30 Form 4, the reporting persons disclosed holdings of 26,034,436 Lennar Class A shares and 553,000 Class B shares. Those figures are ending reported positions, not the number bought during the latest window.

The SEC filing-detail record gives a period-of-report date of September 28, even though the ownership document includes transactions dated September 29 and 30. For the actual transaction dates and holdings, the ownership document is the relevant record; the metadata field should not be read as a complete summary of every transaction date. Why the reported shares are not simply Buffett’s personal holding

The Forms 4 identify Berkshire Hathaway and Warren E. Buffett as reporting persons, but the shares are held through Berkshire subsidiaries, including AZGUARD Insurance Company, BHG Life Insurance Company, Medical Protective Company, National Indemnity Company, NorGUARD Insurance Company and WestGUARD Insurance Company. The filing footnote says Berkshire may be deemed to beneficially own and have a pecuniary interest in shares held by subsidiaries in its ownership chain. It says Buffett may be deemed to beneficially own shares only to the extent of his pecuniary interest, and that he disclaims beneficial ownership beyond that extent. Accordingly, the reported total should not be described as Buffett’s personal stockholding.

A Schedule 13G filed August 14, 2026, also identifies Berkshire as a Lennar filer, but it is background ownership disclosure rather than the source for the September transaction totals. SEC Schedule 13G filing record.

What these filings do—and do not—tell investors

  • They establish disclosed transactions and positions. Forms 4 provide dated transaction entries and reported holdings for the reporting persons.
  • They do not give a current quote. The purchase prices relate to the reported transactions, while holdings are positions reported after those transactions.
  • They do not reveal Berkshire’s rationale or forecast future buying. The filings document ownership activity, not an investment recommendation or a stated reason for the purchases.
  • They should be compared on like terms. Keep transaction window, share class and purchase total distinct from ending holdings and other types of ownership snapshots.
