The BenQ PD2732U is a 27-inch 4K IPS monitor built around colour-sensitive creative work. BenQ lists broad Adobe RGB and P3 coverage, factory calibration, and Thunderbolt 4 with up to 90 W laptop charging. An independent review found it compelling for colour-focused design, but its 60 Hz refresh rate and comparatively modest SDR brightness make it a more specialised choice than an all-purpose premium display.
What makes the PD2732U a creative monitor?
Its core proposition is a high-resolution 27-inch panel paired with colour-management features and a connection setup suited to a laptop-based desk. BenQ describes it for photography, branding, print, video, and digital-output workflows. The published specifications are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements.

- Display: 27-inch IPS panel, 3840 × 2160 resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, and 1000:1 native contrast.
- Published colour coverage: 100% sRGB, 100% Rec.709, 99% Adobe RGB, and 99% P3, according to BenQ.
- Calibration claims: BenQ lists a factory calibration report and average Delta E of ≤2, plus Calman Verified and Pantone Validated certifications.
- HDR and brightness: BenQ specifies 400 nits typical brightness and HDR10 and HLG support.
BenQ also describes full-panel calibration for colour and brightness uniformity and an M-book mode intended to match Mac colour. These features may help fit a creative workflow, but the specifications alone do not establish how a particular unit performs in a given workspace. BenQ’s PD2732U overview and published specifications describe the manufacturer’s claims and features.

Creative Bloq reviewer Ian Evenden measured the display in Display P3 mode and reported 100% sRGB, 87% Adobe RGB, and 97% P3. Those results differ from BenQ’s published Adobe RGB and P3 coverage figures, and the figures should not be treated as interchangeable: one set is the manufacturer’s specification, while the other is a review measurement in a stated mode.

- ACCURATE & CONSISTENT COLORS: Factory-calibrated with 99% Adobe RGB/Display P3, 100% sRGB/Rec.709, Delta E ≤ 2, AQCOLOR Pilot software, Nano Matte Black Panel, Calman Verified and Pantone Validated.
- UNIFORMITY CALIBRATION: Uneven color and brightness can affect visual judgment. BenQ's full-panel calibration ensures consistency across the display, helping you proof accurately and reduce rework.
- Mac-READY WORKSTATION: M-book mode matches Mac colors, iKeyboard Control syncs brightness & volume with Mac keyboard and iDevice Color Sync previews how content appears across your Apple devices.
- THUNDERBOLT 4 & FLEXIBLE CONNECTIVITY: Up to 90W charging, 40Gbps transfers and daisy chain support for dual 4K displays via Thunderbolt 4. Built-in KVM streamlines workflows.
- ERGONOMIC DESIGN & CREATOR-READY FEATURES: Wireless Hotkey Puck, Display Pilot 2, plus pivot, swivel, tilt, and height adjustment for personalized comfort and productivity.
In that review’s brightness testing, the monitor reached 200 nits in SDR; the reviewer says HDR mode unlocked the stated 400-nit brightness. At full brightness, the review found a few percentage points of brightness variation. At 50% brightness, variation was under one percent in most tested areas, with the top-right corner an exception. These are findings from that review, not guarantees for every unit or setting. Read Creative Bloq’s review and test findings.
Will its connections simplify a laptop setup?
The PD2732U has Thunderbolt 4 input with up to 90 W power delivery, allowing a compatible laptop to receive power over the display connection. It also has Thunderbolt 4 out with 15 W power delivery, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-C upstream data port, three USB-A downstream ports, and one USB-C downstream port. BenQ lists KVM and daisy-chain support, along with a Hotkey Puck G3 for display controls.

For a desk shared between a laptop and another computer, the hub and KVM can reduce cable and peripheral switching. Confirm that your laptop supports the intended Thunderbolt workflow and that its power needs fit within the display’s 90 W delivery; the specification does not guarantee suitability for every high-power laptop. BenQ lists a calibration report and Hotkey Puck G3 among the included accessories. A separate calibrator is not listed as included.

60 Hz limits motion-focused use
The 60 Hz refresh rate is adequate for typical desktop work, but it is a constraint if high-refresh gaming or especially fluid motion is a priority. Creative Bloq’s review likewise identifies the refresh rate as a drawback for buyers who want a more versatile gaming display.

SDR brightness may matter in bright rooms
The reviewer’s 200-nit SDR result is worth weighing if you routinely work in a bright room or need high sustained SDR brightness. BenQ’s 400-nit typical specification and HDR support do not change what the reviewer measured in SDR.
Price needs a current regional check
Creative Bloq’s October 6, 2026 review page showed UK listings of £649.97 at Amazon UK and £649 at Wex, and discussed £649.99 / $699.99. Those are dated review-page snapshots, not current quotes. Check local availability and price before deciding; the reviewer also cautions that a larger or faster OLED may be available for a similar price, but does not provide a model-by-model comparison.

Who should consider the BenQ PD2732U?
A strong fit for colour-conscious desktop work
Photographers, graphic designers, and other creatives who value 4K detail, broad stated gamut coverage, calibration features, and a laptop-friendly Thunderbolt hub have a clear reason to consider it. Creative Bloq’s Ian Evenden concluded: “As a pro monitor for graphic designers and anyone else who cares about accurate colour, the Benq PD2732U makes a lot of sense.”

Look elsewhere if speed or brightness comes first
It is a less obvious fit for buyers prioritising high-refresh gaming, high SDR brightness, or maximum screen size per dollar. If your work depends on print matching or colour-critical delivery, assess the monitor as one part of a managed workflow: use an appropriate calibration process and verify the output that matters to your work rather than relying on a gamut percentage alone.
