Hindustan Times reported on October 1, 2026, that parts of Bengaluru had been affected by heavy rain the previous Wednesday. A video posted on Instagram showed several plush toys left hanging from a cloth-drying rope on a terrace while rain fell. The report identified the poster as Instagram user Suryakant Sharma.
The video framed the scene as an imagined emergency. Its on-screen text read, “Owner probably stuck in traffic, meanwhile on the terrace,” followed by: “Send immediate rescue teams. They can’t swim for that long!” Sharma also jokingly called for a rescue team in the caption, according to the report.

Sharma later shared an update showing the toys still hanging from the rope. He described them as having survived a “brutal 10-hour battle,” and wrote: “After 10 hours of torrential rain and surviving a freezing Bangalore night, the plushie squad finally sees the light!
